In 12 years the only problem I had was 5 years ago the driver side wheel bearing go bad, and this weekend will be changing the thermostats with the help of your excellent video, and that's it! Excellent VLOG, Brother! So much that resonates with me in what you've said. Getting a post-deployment vehicle must be Army Regulations somewhere, because we all do it! After Kosovo I traded in my Wife's 2000 CRV for a 2004 Pilot and my 93 2500 Suburban for a 98 2500 Suburban with half the miles. I totally agree that an older vehicle has SO many advantages over newer, more complex vehicles. Here's one I bet you'd get: I'm planning a 6.5L Diesel swap for my 'Burban; not this year, but eventually. I still only have 162k miles on mine. One of my buddies in my brigade had one and I loved hearing the HMMWV sounds outa a Suburban. Sure a 5.9 Cummins swap is popular, but I'm just thinking the 6.5 will get me what I want in power and economy. Think I'm crazy?

For a first diesel, the LBZ 6.6 is probably one of your best bet, along with either a 12v or 24v 5.9, or even a 7.3L powerstroke, theyre all amazing engines and all have their downfalls, just shop smart and dont get jewed out of a deal either.
@steveo78rey5 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you're aware the 04-05 LLY is actually paired with an Allison 1000 transmission. The same transmission the 05-07.5 LBZ uses. It actually has the ability to have six gears but they only chose to use 5. For some reason GM thought that's all they needed. With a throttle body conversion and some tuning the 6-speed can be accessed for the lly. And then you can always upgrade the shifter for the manual shift. I personally chose the 05 LLY but I have owned in LBZ as well. I appreciate your channel and all your information!

It’s weird to think about how much moneys been put into a truck by each person just sticker price wise. When I bought my lmm in 2016 I was 3rd owner and bought it for 26500 with 93k miles all stock. But the 2nd owner probably paid idk let’s say 40-45 and then the original owner over 50 I’m not sure what they were new in 2008 the loaded model. But ya so just in buying the truck from another person my truck has had over 100k into it.

I grew up going through elementary and high school in a Christian school. I am extremely thankful for that. The public schooling system hates God and anything moral. It's refreshing to still here that there are good people left like you. I appreciate all of your wonderful videos and your faith. God bless you.

Needs some quad projector headlights, would be nice. I'm lucky enough to own 2 lbz's now: rclb chev and a ccsb sierra. Best duramax ever!

Well done from one Army veteran to another, THANK YOU for your service. Choosing to send your children to a Christian school is great. We made similar choices with our son too. He loves his Christian school and the investment is not just in a solid education but spiritual growth too. I chose to subscribe to your channel based on your priorities you shared with us on the KZbin. Keep up the great work.
