Thanks for your time in collecting and editing these quotes! * depending on the speakers, the music might be too loud. * Also, at 7:36, the captions have the idiom wrong; the phrase is "barking up the wrong tree" (this idiom refers to the use of dogs to hunt a raccoon - the dogs should surround the tree the raccoon in hiding in, but sometimes they get confused and "bark up the wrong tree")

********************PLEASE BE HONEST, DO NOT DELETE THIS QUESTION********************* My question to ELON MUSK is why does he employ far too few qualified AFRICAN AMERICANS who apply to TESLA? Does it have anything to do with your SOUTH AFRICAN upbringing? Based on this video does it mean he disqualifies them based on the answers they give? and lastly, does the disproportionate hiring of a higher number of Caucasians mean they answer his questions better than AFRICAN AMERICANS?.......................🖐🖐🖐🖐🖐🖐

I had a friend who was working as Space X this is maybe 10 years ago in Ca. He told me Elon was always on the floor talking with the workers interested in what they were doing and actually had a cot in an office where he lived . He said Elon paid very well but expected your best. Space X provided a gourmet cafeteria for all employees for free. He is the real deal.

Because half truths are how political and economical agenda's work over a long period of time, to the masses. It's the same with covid and vaccinations. People are told they need it for a better chance. There's zero evidence other than altered statistics set to push agenda and increase a big pay packet for the actual corrupt. Not all rich folk are corrupt, but I'd choose to have a cuppa tea with Elon over Mr Faceook n Fauci ANY-time, anywhere. Half truths create terrible long term damage, rumours and conspiracy theories. Exactly how some created the vaccines. The post trouble to these half truths is, some people will read a title of an article or video, only to take in the first minute or tops lines of that agenda. The rest doesn't matter to them in their ignorance. The same as people will see a problem and a given solution pumped on a global level, and think it's safe because not everyone dies or has life changing adverse effects. Unfortunately I had to learn from life experience and lost what were perfectly healthy loved ones to these experimental injections... I'd sooner take a direct shot of covid as opposed to the vaccines. At least then I'd have a better chance of survival.

Nearly everyone from the overpriced rich universities is worthless. They're the kids of wealthy parents who never had to work hard at success at any point in their lives because they were never threatened with failure. Their success in life was guaranteed from the start; a start that's already above and beyond what most people could achieve over a lifetime of work and toil. If they were a total lazy dropout and never attended any college at all, they would still inherit their parent's fortune and live a life of easy excess.

To this day I havent missed a day of work in over 9 years but I found out my work ethic and dedication wasnt the problem, the problem was that I wasn't who "they" wanted. I saw the writing on the wall so I took a chance, bought a truck and took a loan out to purchase a potato chip route. I'm now independent and it was the best decision I've made to this day. This also won't be my final career decision as I always look to improve all aspects of my life in whats best for my wife, kids and overall well-being.

Spot on!!! In these times, MBA's seem more busy studying each other than the product, service they are selling. I have seen enough lousy management to realize big companies are self-destructive because they create a very acidic environment that hinders creativity. It's a bit of a catch-22. A company needs to be large to take on large projects (whether it's mass producing a new car, designing a new long stretch of highway including interchanges and bridges or building said highway. Unfortunately, those same large companies tend to have huge overhead since there is an army of business people on top of the company that no longer actually do anything directly related to the company's job. They also need to be efficient in terms of implementing new people to replace lost people (the larger the company, the larger the turnover) which means simplifying every job to a degree so that it can be taken over by the next person in line. Smaller companies tend to do things better AND more efficiently, but they can't simply be scaled up to take on ever larger jobs without transforming into their less efficient big brothers.

@@film50565 maybe he found out how to speak like MBA people and also found out what he got out of studying - very little, that did not require studying at a university but something he could have reasonably picked up independently. Interesting. I've always believed that every company should have the ability to fire people who are dragging everyone down. Micro managers who belittle people in front of others to promote themselves should be the first out the door. People who show up and are in charge of small groups but are always hiding in an office when they have assigned tasks should be dismissed. People who exclude others as part of the team effort due to petty jealousy or prejudice of any kind, should be fired. I would love that job. I've been the victim of all of the above and more, now I'm retired and it's drifting away like a dark all enveloping cloud.

Been fascinated by Musk for quite a while now. Intellectually brilliant, affable and likable, critical thinker, great imagination, and relentless. This is the caliber of person that should be running America but no person at this level of his awareness and capability could lower themselves into the snake pit of our elitist, political class and deal with that level of hypocrisy and corruption

Well done comments on hiring!!! This questioning screens out the narcissists and sociopaths (who generally manage to fool most people about their true nature) while leaving those who truly work hard in order to excel at their job and service to others. This is a major reason Elon Musk has done as well as he has.

Love how he now values connecting with people after spending his childhood hiding in books. Many times, bad apple workers simply haven't tapped into what they are truly passionate about, they get stuck in a job they hate or can't afford to leave, feel trapped & act out. It takes a true leader to know how to draw out the gold in people over product or profit.

I can say as a person that used to work for the military (from Europe) against my free will. I told my commanding officer and the other higher ranking leaders that since I only get paid around 10 dollar a day. I call this slavery, I will do the job, but only whats nessecary. So I won't work hard I won't run or put my heart into the job. I've always been against the military. but when I was done with the military. I finally got to work with what I wanted. I do my very best every single day, working hard and smart. What I trying to say if we work with something we care about. we put our soul and heart to work. today I work with something I care about. around 50 hours a week. When I come home from my shift i am having this feeling that it didn't feel like working. I do alot in my job. but since I work with something I have passion about, and also my coworkers are the best. I really enjoy working with them, they're like my seond family. and they have said the same to me. I feel like I finally enjoy life. I had a hard childhood and the beginning of my adulthood was rough. I am only 27 but right to the future looks bright.

I remember going through diesel school in the late 80's and having instructors tell me that hybrids and electric cars could not work because of all of these different laws. I graduated with a 4.0, It was funny their was always two lines for people with questions one for the instructor and one for me being back up. This is where I get lost. I'm a huge fan of Mr. Musk but there were so few people even in the best schools how understood electricity basic and advanced. Since that time a lot of tech schools have closed. I hear about the Tesla service centers having huge wait times to get peoples vehicles back. If we as a country or world is going all electric, where are the techs coming from? I never hear anyone talk about that. I'm a Master Mechanic and a builder and both fields are in such short supply. Most of the people I know are trying to retire and can't even give their businesses away. I would love to see Elon do a video on the people side of the supply chain.

@@kkknotcool Greed in this context happens when profit margin becomes more important than product quality and customer service. Instead of treating the customer like a king (someone to be served), companies chasing maximized profits end up treating the customer like cattle (someone to be processed). While running a profitable business is necessary and admirable, too much profit chasing in the name of greed eventually creates a system that is worse for the customer, and your goal should be to create the best system for the customer. It is possible to create win-win situations running a business. Just look at "right to repair" problems with Apple, GM, or John Deere. They create products with planned obsolescence that are made to break and can only be repair by their technicians. Instead of creating long lasting best value products that customers love, they try to create recurring revenue streams through shoddy products by exploiting the customers desire to use the product.

It was literally read a chapter of a book a week (one book for the whole course and it was written by a lecturer at the uni) and regurgitate it back for group feedback. Not even individual feedback just group feedback. There were no lectures or seminars, not even videos and the absolute minimum of tutor involvement. There is no learning involved, no creativity, no increased understanding. It was just handing over money for three letters after your name. I have no respect for the MBA qualification now.
