Lovely Ep and area and fish, I love fishing to, I am 60 and a retired small crop farmer and Pro line fisherman I did both off and on for nearly 35 years, ,I also skippered charter boats off and on for many years and my last job was a school cleaner. Theses days as a Rec fisho my passion is packing up our 4wd and 5m tinny and going North in winter up around Weipa or the Gulf or the NT nd or the Kimberley. Camping and fishing and hunting or crabbing and relaxing. and at home at Cooroy I crab the Noosa river system.

Martin.I have always been a light gear fisherman using Alvey like yourself.. regarding the moon whiting tend to be more active around the new moon simply because the6 are a prey fish for flathead and such and like the less light from a new moon.

Thanks for the comment and sharing mate , I've found at the start of the breading season especially in the Caboolture river a couple of days prior to the full moon they seem to be most active and later in the season they swing back to the new moon , and you get the better quality fish on the new moon, what area do you fish ?Thanks for watching cheers Martin
