Nuance is between doing and having the ability to. At the end of the day, no matter how much you make, you have to spend less to not go dead broke. There are examples of athletes that made millions and lost them in a relatively short amount of time. To be fair some watches are a fantastic investment - the waiting list for a Rolex Submariner for example, the waiting list is long enough that as soon as you get it it’s worth double what you paid for it as soon as you collect it All about context I guess, most watches aren’t really like that
