The problem with me (Dedicated Zeus) and my unit leadership is the platoon SGT is afraid that if we get rid of lambs the AI won’t react to contact properly. I am trying to explain the pain of lambs and Zeus just not being compatible.

@@themeddite yup i was doing single player starwars zeus and the clones (BLUFOR) kept running away from the outpost they were defending over to where the zeus player civie was located...got me killed once and i hadnt saved in an hour. Droids (OPFOR) did what they were supposed to tho and chased them down...until there were just a few of each side left too far away from each other so both sides figured "ah yes, i believe the area is clear now".

On the Source engine I remember certain servers had the ability to "slap" a character. Zeus needs a slap button for AI.

@@Afganistan289 i never had problem with it we use lambs bcs of the menu in movment for ai. Ut everything is disabled then we use Vcom adn DCO vcom for other stuf like hear distance grenades etc amd dco have full control

It used to be more robust, but ARMA updates seem to have neutered LAMBS (and VCOM, for that matter, honestly) quite a bit.

Dude you need to learn when to use the Disable Unit AI Module. LAMBs is amazing, I don't think I give a standard waypoint these days. I basically point the AI in the direction and let LAMBs do all the heavy lifting. Give the AI the CQB waypoint and watch them stack up on a building and clear it as a team. If they start doing something you don't want them to do just drop the task reset module on them. Basically if you try to Zeus a mission with LAMBS running like you Zeus a mission without LAMBS running you'll have issues. You have to adapt to get the most out of the mod, if you do the playerbase gets a vastly better experience than vanilla AI and as a Zues you can actually be a lot more hands off and focus on the bigger picture.

You know what this could be? Maybe the LAMBs AI is not built at all with Zeus in mind. Most of the time, when I see the AI doing fantastic work, It's always a scripted mission of some form where the Zeus is only there to serve as someone to Debug. But in Ops where the Zeus is controlling everything, the AI loses all of it's ability because it no longer has the scripting to fall back on.

But if your scripting the ai to do exactly what you want then for the whole op before hand then there’s no point in an ai mod, the point of the mod is to make it so the Zeus or players don’t have to script for hours to make a competent mission

@@kungfujesus1874 That’s actually exactly what LAMBS is. You’re thinking of something like Achilles, but LAMBS is really just an extension of arma’s already very competent vanilla AI. People don’t see it because they always try to make them do an attack run into an exfil, or a convoy, or a trench defense, but the AI left alone to do its own thing is truly something to behold. When you start pulling strings it just breaks their fragile balance.

i meet one or two who did choose to attack me from behind(they did not fire in till they was behind me ) when i was engaging a squad of AI that i was attacking near a town on a server i once played on (server does not exist anymore) so yes it exist competent AI in the ARMAverse i think the AI i fought was vanilla AI mind you is was some years back so does not know if the AI has improve or gotten worst sense i last fought them and on the server was me and two other people(one of them was the server owner) so no Zeus

To the AI's credit, that's not LAMB's messing with the driving, that just that Arma AI can't drive. It doesn't matter what you do, AI cannot drive for shit. I was beating my desk trying to get the vanilla AI to drive down a road or even just stay in a column

I’m gonna be honest, I’m not entirely sure this is LAMBS fucking up. LAMBS is mostly just an extension of vanilla AI, and barely affects vehicles at all. However, helicopter AI in arma is absolute dogshit, especially on an unpathed map with a ton of trees.
