Tip from a sonic player (I can hear the comments already): You can't block explosive shuriken if sonic jumps and then uses it, so you're better off dodging backwards or smth

just block and they cant use 75 percent of their moves for whirlwind kick just block and M1 explosive if it doesnt hit you directly it does block break if it doesnt you can just block hope this helps

Like I don't think you understand how absolutely FUCKED sonic is if you block. Whirlwind has no stun if blocked, meaning you can unblock after they teleport and m1 them before they kick you which is just a free combo, if you hold F while in a sonic combo and they use scatter you can release after it starts and side dash out, flash strike is pathetically easy to block and failing to do so is a skill issue, also if they miss flash strike and end up close to you they have quite a bit of endlag so u can punish. And aerial shurkien, their only guard breaker, has an obvious windup and is easily dodged by side or forward dashing. (It's a bit tricky but you can also actually punish aerial shuriken with a front dash and get a free combo) Basically the only reliable tool sonic has to get past blocks is a dash turnaround, which itself is a flawed strategy since you can predict it and preemptively turn around meaning you can essentially force a dice roll on the enemy that if they fail they get comboed.
