The form actually says "IT Security-Related Experience." 2 years of Help Desk experience resetting passwords, etc. will suffice. It's pretty much you pay $100 to bypass the experience requirement. Which is UNethical in my book. The cert is a trash cert for learning, but it will help you land a job more so than any CompTIA cert. The industry is slowly changing that!

Were can I get the information to start off to learn basic hacking skills, in a good way of course. Your a great guy, you get your messages across very well indeed, and I would love just a tiny snip of your knowledge. Thanks for sharing that knowledge with us. Btw do you do 1 on 1s, were people can pay for a lesson on what ever that maybe. I myself think that's a fantastic idea. I would certainly pay for lessons with yourself, to actually communicate and put a tick on my various I.t kind of bucket list. Stay safe my friend, and again, thumbs up for your quality videos. I'm really proud that I got my CEH. Coming up on my CPENT too. Really hoping I can pass. Then.. unfortunately.. I will likely need to get my Bachelors Degree simply because most of these jobs are with DoD or government contracted and thats the requirement. I have never worked so hard in my life to change careers. It just looks fun to pentest
@unshadowlabs3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it is a joke. The CEH test is easier than the CompTIA Security+. The Sec+ at least covers all the basic security foundations. The CEH felt like nothing more than memorizing a sales brochure of the most popular tools found in Kali linux and knowing which tool matches which type of exploit. Don't even need to know how to use the tool. For such a entry level exam, there should be no way it is so expensive, but ec-council, the makers of CEH, have always been a very money hungry organization, acting far more like a profit, than the non profit they claim to be. Having these and a few dozen others, I would suggest something more like getting ones security+ first, then maybe something more practical in how to secure devices, like the isc2 sscp. Then depending on ones career target, pick up the pentest+ or CySA+ as your entry and intermediate certs. Then again, depending on end goals, grab a higher end cert such as OSCP, CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc (though hopefully by this time you have been in the industry for a little while so can meet the experience requirements).

EC-council is a paper mill. They sell certificates without any specialized knowledge or skill to people who are not willing to put any effort in learning any specialized knowledge or skill.

@XrayTheMyth234 ай бұрын
@@MuhammadDzulfikarBrilliantNo CCNA is probably a little harder than Sec+ due to a broader topic range. Sec+ should probably come first if you have to do both.

People often refer to security as a general concept, but in reality it covers hundreds of different jobs and types of qualifications. A security policy writer may have different core skills than a security trainer, or a pentester may have different core skills than a courtroom digital forensics SME. It really depends on where you want to go. CompTIA Security+ IMO is the best starting out security certifications to cover the basics. Having a basic understanding of things such as operating systems, programming, networking, and softskills will go a long ways as well.

Security+ is the best starting point. Then if you want to do red-teaming stuff i suggest you go for eJpt (go learn more about it) then if you want then go for OSCP which is more advanced than eJpt. Now, After 4 years you can do cissp exam. But Again, it's a personal path, you have to take what you feel is right. Good luck

The more accurate term is a paper mill. A stolen blog post without any related knowledge or skill that a person who doesn't know how to open a computer can be ready to pass in an hour. 80 to 90% of CEH holders are imposters because EC-council is the only place you can buy a "certificate" without having to learn something in cybersecurity.
