I personally think the pump shotguns should be reworked to be a higher tier weapon, lower spread, quicker pump, and low armor pen, just like real shotguns, devastating to unarmored but not very good when plates are in the equation.

I think the other main problem is the spread, like, the Ithaca spread is ABSURD, so you need to use it at 4-7 studs maximum bc of how hard is to actually hit anything

Shotguns are typically used against zergs as well for Tier 1-2 armored players. Sawn-off are cheapest option on killing someone quickly and for breaking T1 armor if shot directly up close twice, good for surprising your target due to the fast equip. It's commonly easiest to counter as it only has 2 shells in the chamber so don't bring it up until you get closer to your target. Ithaca is just straight up buffed version of Super Shorty, giving you 5 shots which you have plenty to shoot on the target. Too broken that you don't have to get very close for the one shot as long as you think you can hit their torso, Do not buy super shorty. ever. straight up dogwater when it gives you 3 shots while still maintaining your default running speed, I mean who the hell needs speed? just unequip your weapon.

Shotguns are actually quite good in the hands of a competent player, and have high damage rates against a heavy melee main, but don’t expect it to do wonders for you in mid-long range.
