I know lots and lots of people that left Australia for the UK and US. Those still in Australia keep enrolling in schools to maintain legal status. Imagine being a student for 6-8 yrs- no PR. People will not understand your experience. Unstable immigration policies.

Happy to have stumbled upon this video. I am a petroleum engineer, I studied here in Australia , in 2019, petroleum engineering was reintroduced onto the PR skills list. I am living proof of this as I have gotten my PR as a petroleum engineer just last year in 2021. I have a few questions if you don't mind me asking. How has your experience been in Canada as a petroleum engineer? How are job opportunities, and quality of life? What province are you in ? I am currently working on getting my Canadian express entry because I believe there are more opportunities for me in Canada.

Keep it Up !! Maggie ❤️ Let me not lie to you I have been hearing Stories of People who studied engineering but still not able to get permanent Residency My advise to People who want to study in Australia If you are want to get Permanent Residency Faster Study Courses like Social Work,OT or nursing talking from experience. Cos I have seen cases of people who can’t Get permanent residency with engineering also to find work in that area is even harder. Cos you need a lot of experience to get in Some people get Stood down from work because they don’t have permanent residency to work as an engineer Cos they are on 485 post study visa while in social work or nursing after studies you can apply for a skills assessment depending on Your Specialisation and get your PR in 1-2 years I have seen people who have done that and they got it

Please, if you did have a choice to choose between Australia and Canada without any issues, which would you choose? I was born in Nigeria moved to Australia, 13yrs ago. I'm a citizen here in Australia but thinking of relocating to Canada. Although I'm settled in Australia, but I would love to move closer to home, I feel isolated and alone here.its like a total headache for my parents to visit, I really want my girls to grow up close to their roots. Canada will be a good place in that regard as we can visit, as well as my family can visit as well....Australia is too far! Point blank 😆
@Mageorgiba2 жыл бұрын
I understand the distance between Australia and Nigeria for sure! If I was given a blank cheque to choose between Australia and Canada, I would choose Australia because I have already lived there! It wasn't easy relocating to Canada but I'm grateful to God for His grace and mercy and I'm happy to call Canada home! For your kids, I completely understand you wanting them to grow up close to their roots but I believe you can still cultivate that type of atmosphere in your home and there are shorter flights to and from Nigeria but they are just expensive! However, if you are relocating to Canada, welcome! You'll love it here! (Apart from the winter! At least that's how I feel)

My bro is currently studying Aeronautical engineering in Australia, and it's listed among the Skilled Occupation List too. But I don't know why it's so hard for him to get job in his field of study. So he is doing a few months training on Disability Studies in order to prepare himself for job pathways. What will it take for aeronautical engineering to get Permanent Residency (PR) in Australia?
@RedDevil-pm2hb2 жыл бұрын
Brother PR is like winning a lottery here ..no matter how much qualified you are here they will judge on the base of your color,culture and I have faced it here ..I would suggest your brother not to waste his talent here and look other places where you get respect
@CEOpaschal2 жыл бұрын
@@RedDevil-pm2hb unbelievable... When we were exploring the options of foreign study, we assumed that as long as Aeronautical engineering was in d Skilled Occupation List, there wouldn't be problems but that's not d case. @CEOpaschal2 жыл бұрын
@@RedDevil-pm2hb what of other degrees like Social Work?
@akinlabiakinbiyi53322 жыл бұрын
@@RedDevil-pm2hb it is not entirely true that getting pr in Aus is based on bias and prejudice as you put it. In fact, Australia is very strict with her laws and they don't cut corners. If you meet the requirements you will have it. That is just to set the record straight. However, meeting the requirements is where the challenge is. Your course of study or how lofty it is perceived does not matter here. The culture of integration in job search is still very rife. So being in fields like aeronotics sounds great but you ll be competing with highly skilled indigenes and scholars from India , Europe and Asia. Trust me it is daunting because Aus is small in population but punching very high in its capacity to competing with other wealthy nations of the world. Bottom line, your dream job stays in the pipeline for a while if you desire pr here. Pursue highly lucrative and very important courses like social work, disability, community service etc. When U have a good footing, you can pursue your dreams. Selah
