Maybe a video on what would you do if you were to start over in 2023 but as a self taught developer. What plan would you take and what resources you would look for

Just curious... When you say 'longest tenured on your Google team', how many years was that? Would love to hear about your new job next time too!
@TechwithLuca Жыл бұрын
@@ropro9817 You might be surprised but the avg tenure @ Google overall is a little over 3 years. Still one of the highest. People often move teams/ switch projects after hitting promotion. My tenure on that team was just short of 3 years

@@TechwithLuca Interesting, thanks for the response! I'm not a FAANG (MANGA?) insider so had no clue! 😄

it seems like no one ever actually STAYS at a faang company. It really makes me wonder if its not all its cracked up to be.

I think is also because there are so many other great places and peoples need and value may change. To shine some light: Most of the folks I know from Google are still there many of them been there longer than 6 years by now some even exceeding 10. Some of the teams or orgs have really long tenure.

Imagine me living in a third-world country that doesn't care about your major, my major which I studied in Russia it's (informatics and computer engineering), and now I am living in Kuwait and my job is a call center agent just because of my nationality (non-Kuwaiti Arab), imagine how I am disappointed about what is happening in my life just, I have a great degree and great skills in different things, my wish is if I could come to the USA or have a job in Google or other big companies.

Thank you for watching! I can only understand the frustration. I hope in the near future with the raise of AI, it can also increase the collaboration zone and allow more flexible projects regardless of location. You got this!

yes usa citizenship is over powered but even if you live in a developing country you can still work remotely for big companies or move countries later if you work hard enough, thats what Im doing 😊

Luca broo, you gotta make a video on what's important for CS students in the field as a former student 😭 Great video though, I gained a lot of insight.
