Fellow Hoosier and MONSTERBASS fan here and I am going to be brutally honest... You took off 5 months and are worried about subs and views? I seriously doubt Rick or anyone watching this channel would care if you kept promoting MB while doing unboxings or reviews for any other brand. Members of their upper tier MB crew have BRAND deals and still make MB content and the Burly guys still review and unbox all of the brands. TBH, I think you're making a mistake of ducking out when MB is getting ready to explode. The whole MBvsMTBvsWhoever has kind of fizzled out. Either way, glad to see you back, hopefully we get on some good Indiana bass soon.

Good video. And it wasn’t too long, you told the story you had to tell. I don’t hunt, so I only usually jump on half(?) the stuff you post for that reason. I switched to MB from 6th Sense for my boxes, because as a newbie, I wanted to get a feel for more brands than just one company, despite 6th Sense being a top of the line product. Settled on MB based on what you and others were saying in your comparing company reviews. And I was psyched for you when you signed up with them… but them having so many great folks on their team, certainly would have made it harder for you to find your niche, as you quickly discovered. So you have a really valid reason for moving back to your old format. Hope it’s the right move and you get the growth you’re looking for. Good luck, and keep up the good work. (You grab your audio really well, so the geese weren’t even an issue - and I’m an audio production/instruction guy, so I would tell you otherwise if it were true. 😎 And your exposure was fine, my guess is you were having trouble getting a good view trying to monitor it “live”.) 🤙🏻

We already know Monster Bass is a great product and worth buying. Putting all your eggs in just that one basket was more than likely a mistake, you're right! Personally I started watching and subbed to your channel because of the mystery boxes and that type of video when you would pull out each bait talk about it and went online and got the true price for each lure. Glad your back to your old format. I do not get MB boxes myself. I thought about it but the take over boxes shut me down. I was looking fwd to the Zman box and seen the reviews. But to me it looked like a bunch of Close Out baits. Very disappointing. And all the MB KZbinrs were all excited but you could see it was fake excitement. I missed your unboxing of multiple boxes. I go to Dicks and buy the Googan boxes and MTB boxes off the shelf. Keep up the great work. Looking fwd to seeing you more again!

It’s funny you say MB looked like a bunch of close out baits, but you buy MTB which are obviously filled with cheap junk they can’t move lol. They throw in a few googan baits to add fake inflated value to the box. MB came with all good zman products… chatterbaits, razor shads etc

@Shield Outdoors, Brad, one of your videos actually got me on board with MB, and I had no complaints. It definitely helped broaden my lure collection and introduced me to companies I probably wouldn't have tried. That said, I have learned and grown as a bass angler enough to reassign that money on specific lures I want rather than a pre-configured box. Like you, I still like MB and recommend it over all the others. I think you are making the right choice for you and the channel. Good luck man! I respect your ethic regarding being true to Monster Bass. I am a new subscriber with them. Here's my story. I'm a sub par fisherman when it comes to bass. I'm learning new baits and techniques as fast as I can but I seriously need help. My walk the dog is pathetic. So long story short, I plan to study up on all things related to bass fishing this winter. I am a kayak fisherman in western Oregon so winter is a miserable time to be out on the water. They wouldn’t want you to make vids about other companies either (or at least not as many as you used to). They reached out to me as well and I made 1 video for Monsterbass last year. The agreement as I understood it was that they would comp my sub and I’d make a video about one of the baits in the box each month (cool with me). I guess I must have posted a bit too much about MTB that week because they contacted me and basically said since they were comping my sub, I can’t post so much about the competition (which is totally fair). So I decided to just pay for the sub myself and be able to post whatever content I want. Nothing wrong with them wanting certain things out of their influencers and nothing wrong with the influencers wanting to do their own thing too. Respect for realizing what you wanted to do with your channel. So many people think being sponsored is the ultimate goal, but you give so much of your time and energy into making the videos that you ultimately have to do it for yourself.

2020 was an odd year for KZbinrs, since most of the country (world?) suddenly found themselves with a LOT of extra time on their hands. I found a lot of channels to watch, and I even subscribed to MB for a year, but once I got back to steady work I had less time to sit around buying stuff. Planes to catch, bills to pay, etc. I do know from experience, to do what you love and not let the statistics fool you into a false sense of security. If you love unboxing other boxes, do it, and Rick and MB would probably love you for it, since most of the boxes out there are closeouts and import junk. I, personally, don't think unboxing vids are going to remain popular for long.

Burly fishing is with monster bass… and they review everything. They still do mystery tackle box, and they review lots of smaller bait company’s. My point is… if Burly can do both, why can’t you?? Also… the KING of reviewing fishing boxes, BY FAR, is Mr. Bass. He literally subscribes to every single monthly fishing box known to man. And his videos are legit… but no one knows who he is, and his views are insanely low. My second point.. Mr. Bass is doing everything right when it comes to boxes… and he still isn’t getting views. It might not work for you either. It’s all about right place at the right time I think. The window may have passed

lol, you're not the only one that just likes to peruse tackle isles at the store. This is one of the reasons why I love opening the monthly box. I just randomly buy a lot less now that I have the subscription. If you're not doing the every month unboxing review, there's no reason why you couldn't occasionally do it with other brands. Do you have to be 100% brand loyal? In a way, when you're not 100% committed to one brand, your reviews can seem more unbiased and legitimate. You won't appear bought. However, like you said about Rick earlier on, Monsterbass is one brand I don't feel like buys it's good reviews. They are honest and I do really like the company.
