We are thinking about moving down to Georgia from NJ, too. We are in North Jersey now. Taxes kill us, we can barely afford to live. And 6 months of winter pretty much is no fun.

I have been born & raised here in NJ my whole life. At 65 years old, I think I want finally want to move for warmer weather. Family & jobs is what keep most people in NJ. I lived in Irvington to just past college. Irvington was a great town blue collar town at one time. Sorry to say, the cities you lived in are not safe cities anymore & they haven't been safe in a very long time. The riots in Newark in 1968 changed everything. I have lived in Hunterdon County/west NJ for 23 years. Except for taxes & cold winters, I love it here. I have no sidewalks, nature is all around me/I have 3 acres, and we have amazing restaurants & plenty of chain restaurants, too. Your experience in NJ is typical for those who live anywhere along the NY skyline area/eastern part of NJ - crowded cities, tolls, traffic. I don't have those things where I live. NJ gets misjudged many times because many haven't experienced all their is to offer.

I moved south from South NJ in 2012...Charlotte to be exact...When I first thought of moving south I looked into Georgia and I really wasn't feeling the vibe down there...I remembered visting Charlotte in 2008 for a conference and I absolutely loved it there...Fast forward to 2020 I've sinced relocated back to NJ and I regret it. I want to move back to Charlotte however it has become more populated and has been hit with gentrification...I'm thinking I may at least get back to NC one day.

Leaving Ct and closing next week on a house in GA!! It’s been a long road because the housing market is insane. My son is in grad school in Jersey but he’ll be done next summer. I’ve spent the last 5 yrs driving back and forth to Jersey. I’m actually going to miss it especially since his school is on the Jersey shore and I love the ocean. Good luck to anyone who just made the move or is thinking about taking a leap of faith!

I left Brooklyn NY after I retired . I knew nothing about Georgia or Newton county!! We had looked into gated communities with great amenities. However I was introduced to subdivision communities. And I was hooked!! I am in a brand new home & community. With everything about 5 minutes away. And other shopping areas in a short driving distance. The airport is a straight run on I-20 which is 35 to 40 minutes away. There is no good Chinese food however I found an Habichi Chinese Buffet which is the closest to good food in McDonough. Other restaurant are very reasonable. It's been 1 year and we have quietness and peace of mind.

After visiting my brother in Georgia over Thanksgiving, I will be putting my home on the market this year....The taxes are just killing ☠ !! I pay 3 times more in taxes in 1 year than my brother who has a larger home with more property acreage in a gated community. 🤔 Yes, I will be part of the exodus out of New Jersey.

You didn't get to far. But I must say, Virginia lifestyle is different from NYC. And of course several areas in Georgia have more flare than Virginia. I am very familiar with Virginia my mother's family is from Glouster Co. (Rt. 17) right above Newport News - I spent a lot of summers there because I couldn't stay off of the #2 train. 🥰 Yes, I was one of those kids that played in the subway.

We moved from Maryland to Georgia 16 years ago and have not regreted it one day! The Weather and lack of crime compared to where I lived in Maryland was a big factor! We moved to Coweta County in Senoia where it looked like Mayberry RFD then. Not now because of Filming of the Walking Dead has increased Property values so much people improved it! But people are very nice and helpful to strangers. Easy going! I still love it in this area! I will most likely retire here.

Thank you this was great. I am trying to get the nerve to leave Texas to come to Ga. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. and in Jersey as well. I am so proud of you. I have been living here 22 years never married no babies anymore. Yes, it is definitely time for a change. You got me on that BONUS. I never expected you to say pizza and go into the description lol. But that is what I miss about being here for 22 years. No cheese steaks, no hoagies, no Sausages off the truck. No East Coat pizza or Chicago style. Nothing so I get it. This was an amazing video. I have also had difficulty making friends in Yavapai County as a single woman with no children. You’re right southern hospitality is almost becoming extinct in some areas. I’m born and raised in Augusta, GA. Fort Gordon has grown so much and I currently live in Harlem (small town next door to Grovetown.) Well neither of the two towns are very small anymore needless to say. Yes the people are rude as crap. I absolutely prefer to go across town to shop where most people hate it. My reasoning is because that’s where most of the locals shop. They are the friendliest. Most people will get creeped out because they say it’s ghetto just because of the way people dress, talk, act whatever. I speak a “hello” “how are you” and they always speak back. I don’t judge people based on their life style. They’re humans. In this small town of Harlem and Grovetown you can speak and people look at you in disgust or just simply ignore you. So I feel your pain with the southern hospitality being far and few in between. 😔 Sorry for the rant and I’m embarrassed by it.

I hired Belinda based on this video. I was a first-time home buyer and single mom looking to make a better life for myself and my children. This has turned into a complete nightmare for me. Belinda is unresponsive to me as this point. I got screwed so bad. I met with Belinda after leaving a comment under her video that I too was from New Jersey and was looking to move in the same area she is currently residing. I flew from NJ to Georgia to meet Belinda where I signed her as my realtor. Belinda is very personable and kind, you wouldn't have expected anything less than professional service from her. I told her a bit of my back story how much this meant to me and my family. My mother was terminally ill and my current situation in New Jersey did not allow for her to move in with me for hospice care. I was essentially bringing my mother here to Georgia to die around family and in home not in hospital around strangers. We saw numerous houses all in the 250K range, she paired with a lender she worked with on previous real estate deals. I was using a USDA loan. This one house in particular she brought to my attention, she mentioned the seller was motivated to sell. I asked her to find out why, but we still went to see the house. After viewing the house she mentions to be that the seller is the daughter of the lender, and that these are good people. I thought it odd and I responded to her by saying you know the lender is black right. Since she paired me with the lender I had to look her up because I know we weren't meeting in person through this process, all of exchanges were through email. The lender is young black woman. There is pictures of the sellers around the house. I thought it was an odd thing to lie about but up to this point Belinda had not done anything odd. I brushed it off and continued with the purchase. The house was beautiful, needed some minor work but nothing that stood out that this was a money pit to an uninformed buyer. We placed a bid on the house and it was accepted. We back to the house for a second viewing before I had to fly back to NJ. This time the sellers were present. I asked the sellers why did they want to sell. They gave a different reason than Belinda initially provided. They stated they wanted to do a new build. We toured the house for a second time and nothing seemed out of place. The house was fully furnished since the sellers were living there. Now under contract, I am having questions regarding the septic tank because its 40 years old. She assures don't worry it she put in a contingency that a septic letter has to be provided by the seller. A couple days before the closure, she reaches out to me to sign a amendment to waive the septic inspection. I refuse. She gives me the sob story about how the septic company came out charged the sellers but didn't inspect because of the rain. She tries to ease my concerns that the sellers are good people and they will pumped for me. I respond to her by saying that the sellers have to have it pumped in order for it to be inspected, so they aren't doing me any favors. I told Belinda I would not close without an inspection. I had to reject two of her amendments because she took of the verbiage that the sellers had to provide a septic clearance letter. I was a couple days out from closing I didn't want to walk away but I should have. I fly back to Georgia for the home inspection. I had a lot of questions for the home inspector because this is my first house I wanted to know things about the home like HVAC and things a renter wouldn’t have a worry about that I now would. Belinda tells me we are going to wait outside while he does the inspection. You will not follow him around, let him conclude his inspection then ask him questions. I asked if we could wait inside so I could remote work while there. The inspector does his thing and comes to find me and he walks through the house pointing out minor issues, like the closet door being off track, and teaches me how to change my filters for the hvac and how to access the attic. We get to closing day, we do the final walk through. As soon as we walk in Belinda tries a light switch and she says oh they turned the power off. There was one issue the home inspector caught which was the GFI outlets didn’t work, so we couldn’t verify it had been fixed. Belinda insisted she had been present for the repair, they were in working order. We proceeded to closure. After we close we take the documents to the electric company to have the power turned on. We met up later that day I took her and my children out to dinner to celebrate. By the time we got back to the house it was late. I would only have the next day to be in the house before flying back to NJ to finish up there. I noticed that morning the outlets the sellers were supposed to repair weren’t working. She came over with her husband to take a look at the circuit breaker. He noticed breaker 15 was tripped. She called the electrician the seller hired to do the repairs, he came out and took a look. The electrician was a friend of family on the sellers side, he begins to tell us this story about the live wire in the yard, and when I turned on light switch I sent power to that wire and it shorted out the breaker. He then says he is glad I called because this would have started a fire. He fixed the issue by cutting the power from the light switch to that wire. Close call but ok he fixed it and I’m one day into this house. I tried changing the locks on the door myself and failed epically, and I had to make it back to airport so I wouldn’t miss my flight. I called my realtor Belinda and she came over with her husband that night after I left and he put the locks back on the door after I left for the airport. At this point I was so flustered after the electrical issue. I just was grateful for the help. I closed on March 27th but wouldn’t move into the property until ended of April or early May at the earliest due to various issues on my life. I finally arrived and about a week or two here it rained for the first time. It starts pouring through the ceiling. I call out a contractor to come look at the issue, and the first thing they do is go to the roof. The guy tells me I need a new roof and I am in complete disbelief the roof is metal and was put on 4 years ago. I refuse to believe him so I call more contractors out. 6 contractors later they all state yes I need a new roof. They ask me did I not have an inspection done. Of course I had an inspection done he passed it with flying colors. They all say this roof should have never passed inspection. The way this roof is leaking, and the fact the sellers lived here up to two days before closing there is no way they didn’t know about this. None of the issues I am dealing with 2 weeks into to living here were in my sellers disclosure. The reason why I am writing this review under Belinda, because I felt she could have done a better job of representing my interest and making sure I got the best house for 250K. Looking back at all of this now the first red flag was when she lied about the seller relationship to their agent. It wasn’t until closing day I found out the seller agent was their mother not the lender’s daughter. 250K is high for Villa Rica, GA she was going to get paid regardless of what house I picked. She kept saying you worry too much. When I wanted to do more inspections, she said oh you just like to spend money I see. I tried to do everything I could to protect myself and it still came to this. Belinda will not take my calls, nor will the other agent. The lawyer I consulted says I have a case. The lender she referred me told me to report Belinda to real estate commission for investigation. I really hate to do any of this. I am single mom that works full time while in college full time, while taking care of my sick mother. I hate this. The lender spoke to Belinda and stated the reason she won’t take my calls if because I called her a name. For one I did not call Belinda out of her name. I cursed by using the f word, s*** and d****, but I didn’t resort to name calling. Since this was over text I have the proof I didn’t since she we haven’t spoken over the phone or in person. She denied lying about the sellers being the daughter of the lender. She ceased replying to my text messages after I told her I recorded her. She kept insisting so many times I thought it was odd so I started recording our conversations without her knowledge. This whole situation has left me in a bind. I will have to get the roof replaced and take everyone to court individually. Belinda expressed to me that she was pursing a Florida license for real estate due to the high price point of the homes there. Please take my story as a warning to beware. She made a nice commission of this purchase, and I’m stuck now without an advocate.

@@merkitten953 no where near. it has gotten so much worst. I ended living in a tent in the back yard with my kids. we just made one room safe enough to return inside. The house is unlivable. I lost just about all my belongings due to mold. I was only in the house one week before everything went south. She stopped returning phone calls then. I left her a negative review on Google she and the home inspector immediately deleted them. Now she is selling houses in Florida. Your realtor and your home inspector are the two most crucial pieces to buying a home if you have to take legal action after the sale. She knew that and she earned 7k off the commission of the sale. She didn't want to help me and risk losing her commission. I have poured over 20k in 3 months in repairs in house I can't live in. Belinda did me dirty but God is able and will deal with her even if I can't.

@@merkitten953 The strength it took not to choose violence against these people was amazing I felt like I had nothing left to lose. Crazy thing is she lived like 5 miles from me. Jesus had to be a whole fence around me. She ruined my life and got away with it. I had to sit with it without taking vengeance. The main scripture that kept showing up for me was vengeance is mine said the Lord... If not for God I'll be in jail right now probably on death row if I had acted on any of my thoughts. I will keep posting to warn others about my experience with her. I'm working with a new station now to get my story out. I wrote local and Georgia officials about what happened to me. I'm hoping to get some laws changed so this can't happen to someone else. If greed was her primary motivator it really didn't have to be bc we looked at some many houses in a day in the same price range. She was getting a good commission no matter what house I chose. I hope I can get her license revoked in Florida before she destroys someone else life.

I forgot all about the Peach Pass. It was the alternative to the Norths mandatory Toll Tax. Democrats are always trying to find a way to collect more taxes. That's one of the biggest differences between the North & South, your taxes get a lot cheaper. A lot of people hear story's about Wages being lower but what they don't realize is the higher the wages, the higher the cost of living & the lower the wages the lower the cost of living. I would bet your better off in a southern State with less taxes, lower wages & cheaper cost of living. Down here buying homes & land is the thing. I've heard in the North they encourage renting more which is a waste of your hard earned money. Yes the weather is hot & humid during the summer but we don't have harsh winters here & it rarely snows. When we do have a winter storm people usually just enjoy the time off because snow is the only weather we rarely have that shuts things down & it only last a few days. Kids down here pray for snow during the school year. Anyway glad your enjoying the South & able to see that its not what Hollywood & Media up north portray it to be. They talk bad about the South cause they are jealous. Southern Hospitality & Slower Living is better. Also on your police statement I don't think people realize there's a big difference in police that work in high crime areas vs low crime areas. There are a few places around ATL that are high crime where the police are always on edge & if people grow up in areas with high crime that's all they experience but living somewhere the crime is low makes a huge difference in police mentality. I'm really glad you noticed & pointed that out about the police. Sure there's bad cops like there's bad people but the environment is the key.

I had never heard of the word “pie” to describe pizza until moving up here. The cost of living is higher so I can’t see myself buying a house here but I’m going to enjoy being up here while I’m young. All I’ve known is the south, so seeing a different part of the country is cool to me. NJ is very different, but I’m enjoying the experience lol.

I appreciate your very good video very much. I bought a nice lot in Southern Georgia and will move there to build a house. I visited once and noticed a lot of pleasant differences from the PNW. In WA everybody is either a computer geek or lumberjack the way they dress and behave. Women look like crap in their dark no nonsense clothes and heavy overweight bodies in black stretch pants. Focus is on tattoos, nose rings and blue hair. Nobody talks. People have no conversation skills and literally sneak around each other avoiding eye contact. If you like a touch of sophistication you are totally out of lack. Even rich people have no class. I always feel overdressed and feel like craving attention in a silly way just for washing my hair and styling it a tad. I will be looking forward to enjoying Southern hospitality, ladies and gentlemen, people who smile without getting a spasm in their face and will love to look feminine in dresses without feeling like a public soar :) !

I'm thinking about moving in November. How's the social scene for the 40+ crowd? Were you married when you moved there? I've watched multiple videos and my 26 year old also said dating is horrible in Atlanta area. As a single Black woman from NYC I don't want to set myself up for a dismal dating scene.
@TenMustardSeedsLLC
@TenMustardSeedsLLC 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tammie - Wow what a few questions you have.. Feel free to call me... Dating in GA.. Here is my input, there are weddings going on constantly so, there is someone for everyone. I know blanket question. But here is the real, who or what is it that you are trying to attract? because that thing or person will be brought to you no matter where you are on this planet. That person doesn't have to live in the state for the attraction to take place. I was married when I move here - It didn't take long for the divorce to happen - changing location does not remove bad habits. Two years later, I was married again. He lived in West Palm Beach, FL and I was here in Temple, GA - we met through a client of mine that was relocating from Florida to Georgia. There is a little more to this story so I am going to record a video talking about that manifestation. I am going to do it today and I should have it posted by Saturday 7/9. Thank you for that inspiration, you are not the only one that asked.👀👀😘😘

@ Dana Ayers and @ Sierra Ellison That is not a question I can answer until know more about you personally. I myself chose to move outside of Atlanta because my family lived there and I had enough of city living - so I wanted streets without sidewalks and neighbors that wasn't separated by allies. However, there are a lot of well balanced cities in GA. I would love to connect with you soon. Email or text me at your convenience.
