I left PCC due to health issues back in 2021. I was an education major as well. I totally agree with where you are coming from. God bless you and prayers as you continue on your journey to fulfill His will.

I think you did the right thing! Your career and degree is right to be your priority 💗 that is actually ridiculous they had so many rules interfering with your studies

Yay! 🥰🎉 I’m so proud of you! You aligned your heart and actions with God’s calling for you life! **if you’re considering leaving PCC** look into the IBLP denomination of Christianity. Research it! Consider deeply that there can be SOO much good in an environment that still doesn’t serve you. Sometimes we submerge ourselves into overall good things that genuinely aren’t right for us. In my experience, I’ve seen quite a bit of IBLP crossover in the culture and expectations at PCC. They offer an incredible abundance of Christian virtues and ethics, but in addition, there are ethics that can quite honestly not be aligned with the Bible (sometimes taken out of context). I found that in an attempt to follow strict rules, I lost my authentic heart posture to connect on a personal level with Christ…all while thinking that was “normal, healthy, Christ-centered discipline”. For me, it was NOT. I thought I was doing what God wanted because my teachers told me that following their rules was how you honored Christ. Now, I’ve learned to sit in grace with the Lord-He’s taught me that He desires a deep, personal connection with me even when I don’t feel like I deserve to be in His presence. He wants a relationship with me that isn’t centered around good works-but instead by grace. I believe that He wants that for you too!! ❤️🥰❤️ blessings!

the iblp has caused severe trauma in so many peoples lives.. for example the duggars. the founder of it too is a whole other conversation (sexual assault and misogynist views)… i strongly advise yall not to join anything in the iblp! as a christian myself that organization is a way to control people through man made opinions and views.

I agree your statement that PCC holds unrealistic expectations over its students, which, in turn, gives students a lot of stress. I personally still attend PCC because I have no other choice. In my experience here, you meet wonderful people, the classes are great, and it is a safe Christian environment. However, it has probably been one of the most depressing and stressful times in my life. Not because of academics, but because of all the rules and requirements that PCC places on its students.

I also went to PCC for a full year. And me and you are in a similar boat. I’m el ed (want to teach at a Christian school) and have health problems as well. I struggled so incredibly much my first semester and tried to just “push through” however, there were several signs that God gave me that it wasn’t His will to have me there. I am now going to college closer to home, and I’m a commuter. It’s worked so much better for me, mentally and physically. (The school I go to is Johnson university in TN if you want to check it out;)) but I also don’t want to bash PCC and honestly had a great time there with friends and I was a working student and enjoyed my job. It just became too much to handle every week. It became more of a burden than an enjoyment and my grades began to slip as well. It was a tough decision, but God will always have something better planned for us than we know 🤍
