Before the game shuts down one day they need to port it to consoles and make it offline for solo play and online play if you want multiplayer. I don’t want the servers to get shut down one day and lose this game forever.

I am new to the game as I never had a computer growing up. Played KOTOR as a kid on the Xbox and played KOTOR II when I got my PC, jumper right into SWTOR and LOVING IT! The class stories are so damn good! Im like 300 hours in and 2 class stories done

@@Lead1121 Yeah, even if you don't play this game for a decade, you can still easily get hundreds of hours of entertainment just by going through the class stories without paying any money at all. It's perfectly fine just to go through all the story content once and put the game aside.

It has a certain magic that is hard to explain.Its almoast the perfect Star Wars expirience, propably with SWTOR. The first year of the game, was such a blast! really loved it but i kept going back to world of warcraft since it was my first RPG. But the old republic always will have a special place in my heart really enjoyed the journey.

It could have been the perfect Star Wars game but it was way too grindy when it first came out. However, recently the overworld content and story quests are WAY too easy and you get too much XP too quickly now. All they had to do was balance the game so the progression can feel constant without the feeling that you are being rushed from point a to point b. I have multiple characters that are 10 levels above the planet level caps that they are on and after a while that just turns me off from the game.

Ah so you rebranded! Glad I found this channel with a quick search though. I "officially" left the game behind in early 2022. It was a huge bummer because the 6.X era in 2019 through 2021 was my absolute favourite time in SWTOR. 7.0 was really bad though and I still have not come back in a significant capacity. I plan to come back in the near future once there's a ton of content for me to get through and then I can properly say my goodbyes. Anyways, watching this video hit me with longing for the game, especially to re-experience the base game up to Ilum again.

I've officially quit entirely as of early 2024. I will never come back after experiencing Final fantasy 14 for the first time and seeing what a great MMO looks like and seeing what good developers are like in an MMO setting. The Swtor developers have been treating us like shit for 4-5 years now. Very little story and content, and when said little content comes out, it's poor quality and a joke on the grander scheme of things. The whole mandalorian story arc has been going since 2021. I'm sick of it. I'm tired of it all and I gave up. Not another dollar of mine will go toward Broadsword (aka ex Bioware employees).

I've been playing for several years and I still love it. I'm a solo player and rarely group. I just completed my Bessie companion and she's a blast. She's a DPS and tanking beast. Plus, for 10 cartel coins you open her-up for your account, even level 1 characters. The new skin is nice, but I just like having her and Shae for soloing. I have over 50 companions to influence 50, 12 lvl 80 characters with lvl 340 gear. There's always things to do in game. My wife of 44 years brought me to the game years ago and we switched servers and started our own family guilds.

Love this video! SWTOR has been such a comfort game for me since release! I stilll enjoy seeing people play, and I have introduced my wife and siblings to the game as well. But I absolutely relate to much of what you are saying. Great memories for me, and I am thankful for the game, but there for sure has been a switch for me as well. Really enjoyed this video!

the community def is strong in this game and it IS what sustains it. There are hardly any new players anymore. I started playing this game again last year in march since quitting back in 2012. It was my main mmo for a year even till this date, tho war within just launched and ive been playing that but i still get on to keep up with galactic seasons. My biggest wish is for an investor to swoop in and and pump money into the game and put it in a place it deserves to be.

I have been thinking about returning. But it would probably end up just going through the class stories again. Class stories allowed you to be a gray man who (except for the jedi knight) didn't have to save the galaxy. You could have been an anonymous smuggler, like millions of other smugglers. An anonymous sith, like thousands of others. The later content is epic, big, puffed up o the limit stories. And you go through the same story with each character. Each time your gray man becomes a great savior of the universe.

SWTOR is epic and sprawling in its content, and has a very polished look (like an updated City of Heroes vibe). Its main problem with retention is it relies on repeating alts and class stories because what it calls "endgame" is actually a flat horizontal list of instances (Flashpoints/dungeons and Operations/raids). They have story, veteran and master modes of many of these, to make them feel harder and add a few more wrinkles to the boss fights, but it is all still a flat list of content to run. it is flat because there is no tiered or gated content progression hierarchy, which has been that way from launch. The longevity of EQ and WoW in part is attributed to their engrossing content progression. SWTOR only has "gear gating" where you have to keep upgrading gear, rather than content gating where you cant' even get into zones or raids until you complete other things like keys, missions/quests, reputation or other elaborate content steps first. That missing content progression just accelerates the perception of a player that "they have done it all" and are just repeating dailies, with no real new content goals. As a simple example, think about the WoW raids and how many steps you MUST complete before you can ever even set foot inside them. Think of all the sequences needed to get into Black Temple. Or in EQ, think of all the steps you had to go through to get into Plane of Time. SWTOR has nothing like that; you can go right into anything and other than gear upgrading to make you tank/heal/dps better there is nothing slowing down doing all the available content like those other games have. There are no mythological "zones" that you want to "someday see and conquer"; they are all possible to already go into right away. A dedicated person at max level can pug most Flashpoints and Operations at least in Story mode in a week. Then you are just repeating stuff you have already run. No EQ or WoW-style progression raiding guilds that I was part of would exist in SWTOR for any length of time; they would not have anything to do to stay together. SWTOR tries to be both RPG and MMO, and in some expansions (ahem, Fallen Empire, Eternal Throne, etc) they drop all pretense at being a MMO and just go for a single-player experience (not that it is poorly done, it is done well; but again this is supposed to be a MMO in the sense that typical players expect like grouping with others and seeing others in your zones and travels all over often as a matter of course). The result is a beautiful game whose scale and epicness is undercut by how easy and flat the endgame content is. And its schizoid oscillation between RPG and MMO doesn't help focus in on solving this problem. tl;dr To quote a friend of mine from back when SWTOR released: "The good news is that Bioware designed a game with a lot of its RPG/companions/story-telling DNA from their previous game experiences. The bad news is this is supposed to be a MMO." SWTOR's idea of progression is gear upgrades that just take a while due to the currencies needed from repeatedly running the same planetary dailies/heroic missions, flashpoints or operations ad nauseum. Other more layered and "non-flat" content gating that MMOs like EQ and WoW have are not present in SWTOR. Consequently, the endgame progression treadmill is very flat and much less interesting and retaining of players than the endgame structure of games like EQ and WoW.

I agree with most of what you said, however I believe the most important factor is that swtor only has 14 normal raids, a couple of event raids and then 10-15 world bosses. That's too little for 13 years, considering what WoW did within 13 years.

Im the same with SWTOR ive been playing it alot this year mainly because a friend of mine has been playing it. SWTOR is something where I've been on and off, I love the game but it does need more on going content and I'm sure broadsword will add bits every now and again and I fear nothing substantial but I would love to be proven wrong. I've been playing LOTRO more recently which is another like SWTOR where I've been on and off but this is more so because of personal life things and I had a time where I was glued to Guild Wars 2. Where I've now learned I like MMOs with more of a journey and gear progression and class roles. LOTRO I thoroughly recommend now for the legendary servers they've just opened up. Angmar (US) and Mordor (EU) its only for subscription members so if your based in US I would recommend Angmar or otherwise one of the normal servers which are free to play up to level 90 or 100 I think. You may have already tried Lotro but definitely recommend it, if you want to try it 😊 Glad you found your passion for video creation! I also am trying to find my passion for video creation again. Has been a long while since I tried but enjoying your content as usual!

I pre-purchased the game before release. Played for only six months, and came back after about five years, and quit again. Recently came back . Paid for a sub, and completely forgetting how to play the game. Its been almost a month, and it is fun to be back in the game again, however I won't be sticking with it. Going take my founders title, and go back into hibernation. I just couldn't groove on the game. One day I'll be back again.

I'm honestly surprised that Disney hasn't pushed to create a new SW MMO already, especially given their greedy nature. I just hope they make the game possible to purchase as a single-player experience before they kill the servers. I still play from time to time, and I'd love to be able to mod this game.

I beta tested the game back before it released and roleplayed on the forums for a long time before that even. This game was so much fun for years and then Disney happened and Bioware lost everything that made its company great. I hate them, and what they've done to Star Wars. All thats left of the good ole days is the Expanded Universe and however long Swtor stays live so I can replay the Sith origin stories.

For me personally, SWG is a far superior game. SWTOR was really not that fun for me. I played a IA Healer up until the Hutt expansion, I came back for F2P to just be disappointed once again. I hope we one day get an ACTUAL open universe game like SWG again that is more co-op/self hosting ( like Conan exiles ).

Onslaught was the reason I left the game and never to return. I thought it would be difficult, but in the end I realized that I would have to farm a bunch of new sets on old content. Which I'm already very tired of. And the new plot of the game and content simply killed my desire to wait for a new story. I just left. And it turned out to be easier than I thought.

I think we need a game reboot of swtor. I love the game and play it since release. But in my opinion the old republic theme is at a point where the story is over. How about a mmorpg in the setting after episode 6 ? Or like episode 3 ? Maybe the high republic theme. There is a lot of story we can explore. After Revan and Knoghts of the eternal Throne there is no good story anymore. The threat of the big Sith emperor is over. So we need a new big Story and that isn’t the old republic anymore. That’s my opinion

personally for me. the game stopped being good after Rise of the Hutt Cartel (the first expansion), so basically before you started playing the game. Shadow of Revan was ok. I loved Rishi, but that was it, the rest of the story was not good and the Temple of Sacrifice as a raid utterly sucked. I loved to bash WoW, but the truth is, SWTOR has sucked longer in one go than WoW ever did (since 2013). I wish they just expanded upon the class stories instead of what they chose to do, milking this whole immortal emperor thing for 2 expansions, I hated it. and Legacy of the Sith is more about Mandalorians than the Sith and I hate that too. the raids in the old days were so good, it's such a shame! The Eternity Vault, Karaga's palace and Scum & Villainy were so much fun. the most fun I've had in MMOs since, I wanna say Vanilla WoW back in 2005. But it's finally over, I'm done with MMOs forever.

The class stories were overall good. After Makeb, though, the writing went downhill fast. Starting with the whole Valkorion storyline, the writing became terrible, and a lot of it is simply incoherent.

Why I left. When the got rid of it's launcher. Ever since then I haven't been able to login through the new method. Gave up trying to get it sorted. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game over and over but it just fails everytime.

Literally no reason to lvl boost your character. Lock yourself outta the story arcs. Really disappointin comin back to that after playin stuff like wow & ff14. & i h8 that i can even say that. Swtor was my favorite of the mmo's, i still remember buyin the box the daybit came out and feelin such euphoria @ livin in a world where one of my favorite ip's had been granted an mmo & from bioware the then madlads that had put me on star wars games through kotor & i was like... its not kotor 3 but ill take it, & now look. Comin back and seein it had nothin other than just the 8 story arcs was sad. Ever since they made specializations its been on a downward spiral. Takin away the trees & takin away the ability to branch into more than one (i.e. they stripped the sorcerer of access to lightnin & darkness) but once they doubled back on the specs & were like hey whatever class** (not quite) whatever story, I was like oh... guess they're outta ideas now that Disney owns star wars. Now, it just bleeds "hey we got the the ok to use these Disney cosmetics! Give us your money!" I come back just to get my fix for my favorite classes. Jedi knight, trooper & sorcerer. Somethin satisfyin bout the flippies, & storm charges. Nvm the endless lightnin cranked out by the sith generator. But then as I start new stories to try & achieve the legendary player status I'm just like oh yea i hate this planet. Oh yea I remember these missions too... I hate this planet. & then you wonder which planets are actually fun and not full of vapid tedium....

SWTOR definitely feels alive to me. More than I expected after Broadsword took over. However, I don't like the direction the devs are taking with the game right now, hence why I will be leaving for now. I'll go back to WoW for Evil Within most likely, hoping that Broadsword will see the huge potential in SWTOR and get some new people over to develop more content for the future.

Sadly there a maintenance mode company. They pump out small updates. So it may never die just not reach the heights of wow or ff atm. Enjoy it for what it is which i have been doing but its a damn shame what it has become.

I believe Broadsword will keep it going. They may not have full expansions, however, they have added like 3 stories with updates to the game. I do not believe its dead. They have a new update again soon
