I also moved to Ireland (Irish Parents), from the UK. It was cheaper to buy a house at that time and wages were actually better. So a work family life balance thing. I think less stress is the main reason. Stress and stress related illness kills alot of people, we only have one life. Still enjoying Ireland to this day. Also would love to visit Japan.

I have to admit it's kinda funny. Many of us who live in the rest of Ireland find Dublin to be very hectic. Have you ever visited any other parts of Ireland since you started living here. Maybe some of the historical sites like the Hill of Tara or Newgrange?

when i was a kid i used to go up the hill of tara with my grandad every year and i hated it and would rather -play football or hurling but i then started to enjoy the nature

I'm an American of Japanese ancestry, and have been to both Japan and Ireland. I love both countries, but I have to say i've been to Ireland 6 times already. There's nothing like going to the Wicklow Mountains in the east, or County Clare in the west...and just chilling.

It's easy to be blown away by Japans beauty as a tourist. It's quite another thing to be living there trying to make ends meat. Totally different experiences. I think there probably are people making a living in Japan doing rewarding things for a living but for those wage slaving I would imagine it's one of the worst countries to work in the world. I've heard nothing but bad things about Japans work culture.

I left Germany at a very young age with 18 because I felt the place was too competitive and comparing for me. I know Germany isn’t Japan but you explained so well what I also always get asked and then they compare Ireland to Germany and don’t understand why I would move from a very well functioning economy with a good healthcare system and social system to Ireland. Yes there are problems here, just like everywhere and maybe some unique to Ireland. But in all those years living here I never felt like people would compare their job, car, size of house etc with mine. And the calmness with what people approaching daily life, is just fast enough for me. It just doesn’t really matter here what you have or don’t have and if one has more they’re happy for this person. I love it here. And the country side is so beautiful.

I've lived in both. Ireland feels more natural. Less man made. It also feels more free to me, more wild and natural. There's more space in Ireland, so if you don't like crowds, it's very comfortable. It's a country that looks out at the world so understands and is interested in other people and cultures. Dublin is also a very diverse city with lots of people, languages, restaurants and cultures. In recent years, Ireland has become quite a progressive, tolerant and forward thinking country. Japan feels more organized. Their trains are famous for a reason, no country in the world has better public transport. Life, in Tokyo at least, is full of modern conveniences, especially convenience stores and transport. Japan also has more diverse scenery, sub tropical areas, temperate areas, mountains, a wintery island. In terms of landscapes very diverse. It also maintained a very strong and unique culture separate to the rest of the world, making it feel more unique. Overall, Ireland just speaks more to my soul. I prefer the temperate grasslands and forests, the wide open spaces, the diversity of Dublin, the freedom to express individuality, the gender equality. There's a lot of things I would like to change or fix, and I think we could learn a lot from Japan. But I also think we could teach a lot to Japan...

Hi Miwa. I have just discovered this video but I already see from the next recommendation that you have moved on to the Netherlands. I hope you enjoyed your time here in Ireland and I sincerely wish you all the very best for whatever the future brings to you. I live in rural Ireland quite a long way from Dublin but I have to tell you that you made a wonderful video and it has certainly enticed me to visit my capital city again and to spend a little time appreciating what we have here. Although if you lived where I do, life would be even more relaxed and slow moving than in Dublin. A trip to Japan has been on my bucket list for years. Especially the smaller cities and rural areas outside of Tokyo. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and I will subscribe and look at the others. Good luck!

I was born in Ireland and have lived in London and Toronto and for the last 30 years in NYC ,so I understand what you are saying about getting away from the rat race. I'm not crazy about Dublin though. Cork and Galway are the REAL Irish cities. I hope you stay in Ireland,you are a sweet young lady and bring a few more Japanese over from Japan. I've had only good experiences with Japan through my work.Always well mannered but they like to have fun and have a drink too ,just like us Irish. Bonsai and good luck !☘️🇯🇵

When I studied Japanese in high school, we had an assignment to write out a tour and give directions around an area of our choosing in Japanese. I foolishly chose Dublin, where some of the street names are Gaelic. I don't think I successfully wrote out any Gaelic street name in Katakana, but I don't think my Japanese teacher noticed...

Hi Miwa, what's your ideal housemate from your point of view? You've lived in 8 different places within Dublin... Do you have any advice on housemates in terms of nationality, age bracket, gender, job occupation, number of them, nationality... ? I feel that it's an important thing to take into account when choosing the perfect accommodation. Ps. Love your videos, keep them coming :)
@MiwaKosmic5 жыл бұрын
Hi kv sider, thanks very much for your comment! Ideal housemate.. This is a very interesting question. I would say, being able to share your thoughts, emotions and food you love can make your house sharing life a lot of fun and rewarding! But perhaps ultimately, the answer is within each of you, and I think this is something that you may need to ask yourself deeply, because I believe that in order to find ideal housemate(s), you may want to know your ideal lifestyle to some extent before you start looking, and you can then create ideal lifestyle together with them as you get along. I guess probably there’s no “ideal” housemates, but it’s more in our belief..! :) And yet, we definitely need a certain level of respect with each other, like time to go quiet, and necessity of “me” time, but we can figure these out, and to me it doesn’t really matter what nationality, gender, etc! So to find a perfect accommodation for you, I’d strongly recommend you to ask yourself what lifestyle you’re dreaming of :) P.S. Thanks a million!!!!! :)
