Thanks for the heads up Jim. I almost bought one but found a deal on an Echo 790 and I am quite happy with its performance and durability to date. I have had many Stihl chain saws over the years and haven’t ever had a dud. Sold my 038 Super three years ago (was a great saw but was getting heavy)bought a new 400 and a new 261, both have been good saws. Not a Stihl fan boy as I do own other saws, just never had a problem with them. Funny that Stihl would head down a rocky path with their blowers.

👍👍 lol good finish! Is there someway to put them at TDC, flip it over and get some oil down in that thing.? Maybe it needs some Jims saw shop engineering!

Everytime I have posted something about how the 4-mix blowers are not worth it I get blasted. I agree whole heartedly. So where do I ship a pile of dead BR 600/700/800's?

@@NCSU4x4 it’s unfortunate so many people become brand loyal or “fan boys” without having a bit more mechanical background or maybe looking at stuff with open eyes and an unbiased perspective…but it seems to keep the dealers in business

My BR600 has been excellent. Probably have around 400 hours on it. Starts on 1st or 2nd pull. The 600/700/800 blowers have 4.8 or 4.9/5 reviews. Perhaps they use a bushing bearing instead of a needle bearing to better withstand the higher hp of the larger blowers.

@@donnaknokecobb3988 nope, do some research. It’s definitely a failure point. This one is less than 2 years old. I’ll post a longer video of it

That's 50s 2 stroke tech.. old mcculloch used brass bushing instead of bearings(maybe not common yet?) But a bushing in 2024?? That's a silly way to save 30cents

At least they ran 24:1 back then

Stihl certainly don't make things like they used to. Many parts for 1990's FS brush cutters are being discontinued, forcing you to buy new machines.

@@patrickvennard838 that’s where quality aftermarket can help keep some of the old stuff going. Often it’s not worth putting OEM into something like that.
