Mom told my boss I choked her kid, just got through 3 days of investigation only to determine I was gently holding him still because he was biting me and I didn't want a chunk ripped out of my arm. If she'd bothered to idk call the school before reporting me we could've explained, she couldve talked to the para who was with me, and I could've shown her the huge bruise on my arm from her kids nasty teeth. Needless to say, the kid was suspended and moved to a different teacher.

Absolutely have had the second thing happen more than once in my 35 year career. I teach high school and after every test I would pass out a half sheet grade summary that was a homework assignment to get signed. Kid never did it and told his mom that he lost it because it was so small. No problem! I print it out on a full sheet. Mom calls the front office complaining that I am singling out her son for ridicule. Kid also was allowed extra time on tests, which he would never use. Mom called the front office because I would not follow him to the next class and force him to take extra time.

I taught a vet assistant course at the local university. I was fortunate enough to arrange cat care at a local shelter where students performed patient care duties (kennel cleaning and feeding) prior to practicing any handling exercises. This gave the students real life experience before they finished their course and went on practicum rotations where they would be performing these duties on clients’ pets. They all emailed the program director to complain that they had to “clean and care for pets” during this rotation. Apparently, they figured after this 6 month certificate that they would be qualified to perform brain surgery. Following the complaint, I learned my lesson and never took them to any practices or shelters again after that trick because it was a slap in the face to all the volunteers who came in to facilitate the students and the shelter didn’t even charge us for the experience (nor did the university pay for the hands-on that couldn’t be offered in any other site). Bite the hand that feeds you and it stops feeding. Following completion of the course, only 4 of 26 students were hired in vet clinics - likely the low number due to their entitled attitudes! 😂😂

This video is a crash course in why some people need to go to a dang class before they have kids and learn how to parent FIRST. Also a good summary of why I'll never take a job as a teacher and why so many others get burned out and quit for private education or other jobs. The comments only reinforce this decision D: Kids are kids, some have problems, some are a lot to handle... It's the PARENTS that make the job unwieldy. "We don't want to do all of this work, you do it!" "HEY WHY ARENT YOU DOING THINGS EXACTLY HOW EACH OF US WANT, EVEN THO NONE OF US AGREE ON HOW TO DO THINGS?!" Yiiiikes.

I won't go back to public school teaching either. To be fair though, the whole buying supplies for the "class" is a total scam for us parents. My mom would write my name on each and every individual school supply she bought each year. I remember having to ask her to send me my own pack of Kleenex in my backpack because there was always this one kid who would blow through all of the class supply in the first couple of weeks and then the classroom didn't have anymore. Same thing with pencils. The teacher would take them all at the beginning of the year, then not hand them out when needed. Or shame us for needing one. But we were encouraged to buy one from the machine in the library. So yeah, the whole school supply thing is messed up.

@@Easy-Eightlol. I went to the top rated private school in my city for middle school and then switched to the best public for high school. The kids were similar in terms of behavior but more diverse culturally. The parents were way worse at the private. The teachers were much happier at the public school and I was too.
@Easy-Eight11 ай бұрын
@@LGrian One of the more pointless things in life is pointing out the dreadful American public schools. There is this vast *nobody really cares* zeitgeist infesting the USA. Since 2020 the average 8th Grade student now reads at a 5th grade level. Nobody cares. Since 2020 math scores have crashed. Nobody cares. The USA has a complicated infrastructure and uneducated/uncaring workers lead to disasters, like the Flint, Michigan water situation. But you don't care.
