Australian, I purchased this car brand new with a drive away price of $49-K in Sept 2017, it's the 2.0-d Xdrive model incl Panoramic sun/moon roof, auto park, got to pick the 18'inch wheels I wanted (for free) metallic paint (free), heads up speed, auto braking, foot sensor boot opening tail/door, 5 way remote seats heated seats. It came with 0-km's on clock (not a demo). Actually I brought it for my wife yet I drive it a couple of times a week, it has really grown on me, absolutely love it.

I have a 2108 X1 sDrive28i that is a base model. It does have the heated seats and steering wheel along with Park Assist plus the all weather floor liners. It stickered for $36,540. I did get the dealership to activate the satellite radio for $475. It was essentially a 2018 1/2. Meaning, they moved the sDrive28i badging to the back hatch and they redesigned the front base seats a little. Not sure what else they did if anything. It's a great little SUV. I'm happy not to have all the extra tech junk in my car because it's less money to throw away on fixing stuff I didn't even need to begin with. My one big gripe is that the base seats are narrow. A bigger person might need the optional sport seats, but they'd have to go up one trim level to get them as an extra option after that. It performs beautifully and is a joy to drive. Most importantly, it's not a boring Honda or Toyota. It was worth the money. :)

The Park Assist is definitely useless "tech junk", but a sport seat, LED lights and a panoramic moonroof are a must, so does AWD. You can see the difference it makes in acceleration. 6.6 sec vs 6.3.

I feel the same. We bought 2018 X1, and 2019 X1. Both came with different options but both are worth money that’s paid.

Base models are good value, but limited on lots, most are loaded with expensive options. But more option equal more things that can and will break after warranty

Honda or Toyota they won’t even let you bargain. They act like they have best cars but compared to BMW or Mercedes GLA their cars aren’t even close. I don’t like big SUVs like X5 so X1 is perfect for me.

I just traded in a 2012 Honda CRV and got a 2018 BMW X1 Xdrive28i. I loved my CRV but the BMW is on a whole other level.

Just traded my 2014 Ford Edge for the 2018 X1 xdrive28i. Only 18,000 miles on it. Love this car. Encouraging that you kinda did the same thing and that you're happy with the decision.

That either a 2016/2017 model. I have 2019-gage cluster looks completely different. 2016/2017 models have issues with transmission and engine mount problems. Do your research and or check the vin of the car for recalls and or known issues before buying a 2016/17 model. 2018 and up is more reliable! Anyway i love my X1. It's fun to drive, beautiful interior and visibility is great. Never had any issues and is a super reliable. If you dont need a giant car but still need a crossover, go with an X1 over the X3. Road noise isnt the best but im so used to it, that i barely notice it.

Yes BMW X1 is better than loaded CRV or RAV4. That’s the reason we have two X1 now. My 2019 has Collision and parking assistance and paid same price as 2018 X1. I made best decision by not going for RAV4 or CRV.

I have a 2015 X1 Xdrive28i and I absolutely love it. Drives amazing and for a affordable price. I have heated sits, gps antenna. I upgrade the screen to a 10.2” screen with CarPlay for my gps and music. If you want buy the base model and upgrade little by little when you can. #BMWLIFE

I'd definitely go for the RDX based on the fact that it's a much bigger vehicle, it's more luxurious, much more reliable, and the service costs much less

I have a 2018 x1 and the road noise is awful. It over powers my music . BMW has the worst tires…The seats are hard too. The body easily dents too. Sheesh I wish people would be more honest. Maybe some individuals don’t know the difference between good and poor quality
