I recommend watching Andy Othlings YT channel for even more in depth use of the same effects pedals used here. As a side note, using mono reverb pedals as beginning of chain / stereo reverb end of chain is absolutely the right way to do things, everything else in the middle. I prefer the crazy verbs (dark world is one of these) like OBNE dark star or sunlight as well for start of chain.

Wavestate is incredibly powerful synth. With the 2.0 update, you can even import your own samples. If you love looping/droning wavesequencing that is built in on your Wavestate is just the right thing. And you have 4 layers of that madness!

@@twiglet2214 i am glad you are learning music, and you have a powerful tool. I must warn you though, Wavestate update can be tricky, depending on which OS you have. If you have 1.4 which is the one it is usually shipped with, you need to find and install 1.6 PRIOR to 2.0, otherwise, your synth will not recognize USB port. Basically it needs networking driver that is integrates in 1.6 update. I wrote in detail the process of Wavestate update video by Plugin Guru. Korg support site is a bit messy when it comes to older updates. If you can’t get around, give me a ping, I will write you detailed instructions. Cheers (sorry @Oora for highjacking your topic).

have i got this right? 1. each pedal from the juno onwards is sending a dry signal out (direct out) to into each 'chained' pedal. 2. each pedal wet signal is fed into a mixer channel strip so each pedal can be mixed/eq'ed etc from the mixer? if not then thats how i would do it as sending on increasing wet signals back onto itself will ramp up gain and eventually distortion and in the end sound rather messy? jb x
@Eimost3 жыл бұрын
No, they're all in series, each mixed pedal out going into the next. You're not feeding the pedals back onto each other so the the gain shoudn't ramp up.
@OoraMusic3 жыл бұрын
as Steve said, the signal iw "wet " all the way along the chain. Each pedal add just a little character.

Thanks for sharing your art.In looking for a reverb and delay to use for dj'ing I came across your ultimate reverb video. For me it was one of the most relevant examples of the pedals in a musical and useful way where most pedal videos are for guitarists or experimental electronic music. The Dark Rooms has a sound that I really love. I come from a Detroit background so I like the sound of that thing, it is dark. But for using while dj'ing the knobs are just too close for me. I mix with turntables and now have a cdj to add to the setup that I need to learn. Something like the Space and Timeline are appealing due to the knob per function and nice spacing, something that is playable. Maybe you have a recommendation. You use a Model 1 so I was guessing you have a background as a dj.
@OoraMusic3 жыл бұрын
thanks! Sadly i never dj'd in my life, I just love model1 concept. As for reverb, the eventide space might be the most used and versatile for me. The Dark world is a precise mood, love it. Not too playable, but if you find one id get it.

Love your experimental approach………………………………if any of your pedals take an expression pedal. Try out the Moog EP3
@OoraMusic3 жыл бұрын
I never had an expression pedal, I should get one?
@LockStoppageSandwich3 жыл бұрын
@@OoraMusic I find them useful……………………….you need to look at your pedals and see which have Exp ins and also what parameters the expression pedal allows you to control. They act (almost like a morph). In that they can change certain parameters (so for a delay. That might be say the delay duration. From full to nothing). They range from £20 up to £200+. But for me the £40ish Moog EXP3 is well made and great for the money. I do experimental stuff and have three of them. Old Blood Noise also do a small expression pedal that does the same as the Moog. But in a small pedal form factor (Have 3 of those also). Which uses knobs instead of an actual pedal to work. It’s just another string to the bow.

I love chaining Space and Blue Sky/Night Sky. However it is easy to make a mess out of things, turning it into uncontrollable clusters of dense reverb. I love what you did though. also I found Empress reverb to be more useful as a send/aux effect on a mixer. To be honest, you could get amazing reverb just out of two Chase pedals and Strymon - that blue algorytms just cant be beaten. Eventide Space + Blue Sky+ Night Sky +Mood. That's what I would try. And btw how do you find LXR 02 - I am close to pulling a trigger on that one, but I would rather wait for Perkons. Now they say it will take them a year, so I might as well go for LXR.
