Why I'm ditching my Banks Performance T-SPORT Fairing on my M8 Low Rider S

A arai Corsair is a track based helmet that’s why it’s comfortable but has bad wind noise issues. I’ve had one and just used to wear ear plugs

It’s not as loud as several other helmets I’ve ever had. I understand it’s a trade off. The more wind ventilation the less quiet. I’m ok with that. I need the venting lol. Too damn hot otherwise

Great fairing definitely would say rider height plays a big role into it I don’t get any wind that hits my head or anything I do hit 75-95 mph on highway. I’m 5’7” and I tried it without it just to kind of remember how the wind was hitting me. Then threw it back on and it was golden again great fairing for the price !

Running the FXRT and love it ! I do catch a bit of buffeting at the very top but its nothing I cant handle. I plan on swapping out for a Klockwerks Windscreen when they finally get in stock

I hear you about the heat! I live in Tulsa Oklahoma and from July through mid September is just brutally HOT!! August is out of the question! That’s why I ordered the Memphis shades with a vented windshield. I figure if it’s a problem in the cold I’ll just block them off but in the summer those vents will be such a welcome addition! I wish I could just deal with the wind cause the way the low rider s looks from the factory is my favorite look.

Absolutely! Have you seen my newer videos? I e been rockin no fairing at all & dealing with the wind. Very manageable and I absolutely love the way it looks with no fairing. Reminds me of the old-school dynas

@@RidinDad Yeah, it looks great that way! I don’t think you can make this bike look bad can you? One thing I really liked about the road warrior fairing when shopping around was the ease with which it installs and un-installs. I already have a del Rey sport screen from them that I can swap out with the fairing once the handlebar brackets are installed. Or remove everything (except the brackets of course) and go naked like yours! Or I can order different screens that are compatible with the mounting brackets already on the handlebars? Lots of versatility and I really like that. I like to change things up sometimes, and for the $$$ I figured I couldn’t go wrong? Only had my bike about 4days now…..and it’s winter! Obviously!

Most I’ve seen for t-sports to stop buffeting is getting a higher screen or getting a vented kit that has bolts and spacers that lift the screen up. For me the clamshell fairing has always done what I need it to. Cut off the wind on the chest and core. Buffeting doesn’t even really happen to me idk why. Never had an issue unless I had it angled back towards me but it’s easy to adjust.

Mine does. Never had any issue with it at any speed or angle and I love the comfort and venting of it. Just didn’t mesh well with the airflow from this fairing for some reason. I’m not willing to switch helmets at least right now which is why I sold the fairing

At the time it was offered directly from them. I’m not sure if they still offer that or not but if they don’t and you want it it’s worth sending them a message real quick because they have great customer service

Nah. I’m not gonna try any other fairings at least for a long time. I missed the air flow to the helmet for venting too much.

Absolutely!! I’ve had an inclusive maintenance package for it so far but that expires this year so I’ll start doing my own maintenance now that it’s not free anymore lol.

The Simpson Bandit is an awesome helmet, but there is A TON of wind noise with it, and I wear one riding a Road Glide so it would probably be way worse on a Softail. Despite the wind noise however, I wouldn't trade the helmet for any other (except maybe an Arai).

If you decide to go back to a fairing, you might want to think about fork fangs, or walrus teeth as they are sometimes called. Harley doesn't make them for the low riser but they are available aftermarket. The buffeting might be coming from the air coming up around the tank.

It’s not. I put my hands and feet all over the bike feeling wind and blocking it from areas on my helmet it was all the same. It was coming from the top. I could feel me moving in and out of the buffetting when I moved my head certain places

I feel your pain.. i have 2020 Slim and tried the road warrior and drop top and they both jack hammering my head lol! The bullet fairing for me is freaking awesome. No buffeting even doing 90mph. Also no sign of hanging for your dear life on handlebar. Im not sure why memphis shades dont offer this bullet to your bike model

The reason you are so sensitive to buffeting is because the roads in Florida are so boring you don’t concentrate on riding, just staying awake ;)

Your height, windshield height and, and helmet definitely play a part. Try the fxrt fairing.

I understand all that, that’s why I in no way am I blaming the company it just did not work out for my particular set up and me. And that’s easier said than done lol, when all is said and done and paint match is complete that’s like a $3500 investment for just a faring. And honestly I do not need it. I prefer the look of the bike without any faring and I don’t tour enough at high speeds like that to wear a faring makes a huge amount of difference. I’ve been rocking the naked look for a while now and I love it

Well that’s the one I have lol and it is loud, but nothing to where I would give it a pass or fail just based on noise. Everything about it definitely feels cheaper compared to what I have been running the past several years. It does have a super Widefield of you, more than pretty much everything I’ve tried so far which is the only reason I have not taken it out of the lineup completely yet

Simpson helmets are awful, they look great but are extremely loud and cheaply made. Everyone I know that has a simpson ghost bandit hates them and only wears them for looks. Tried my buddies and my ears rang for 20 minutes after i got off my bike everytime. just my 2 cents

And install video is just the install of the product and I might mention how impressed or disappointed I am with the quality and fit or finish. But it’s not a use review. That’s why I post follow up videos to explain the products after I test them out
