EDIT: To people complaining about the sound, I apologise its low, but there is nothing I can do about it for this video. KZbin won't let me edit the volume post-upload, and I edit on a PC with headphones and gauge my volume from there, so I didn't gauge the volume for mobile devices before uploading. This will be my last RWBY video. In this video I tried my best to make logical arguments on what I feel went wrong with the show. As someone whose been with the show since day one, it took a great deal to push me away. As much as it pains me, I just can't keep supporting a show run by people with so much contempt for their fans feedback. Maybe, if Miles' ego recognizes that he didn't create RWBY and is willing to admit he can't drive the ship anymore, then perhaps there will be change, and I can come back to the show one of my greatest inspirations had created.

Vol. 2 was where that potential was first realized. I loved the ambiguous mood of it. Light-hearted bits (the food fight) were contrasted with ominous and outright dark undertones (remember the cold-blooded murder that Emerald and Mercury committed in the first episode?).

I soon realized it was a lot more difficult than I imagined, due to there essentially being 'no plot' in RWBY to mingle with. There is no goal for their side of the plot. Also how V5 ended gave me very little to work with. It's currently on an indefinite hiatus due to time constraints and what happened volume 5 and 6. I might attempt to reboot it again if I ever have time using post-volume 3 setting. It was an interesting experiment I had in my mind for a first time writer.

@Orga777 nah fam volume 1 had a really cool fight in the begging and end and it introduced us to our characters and the bully arc is subjective cause it was one of like 3 arcs in the short volume and tbh i really liked that arc it was my favorite arc of the series since it was only like 2-3 episodes long and developed jaun and pyra my 2 favorite characters of the show somthing that would take a whole season with rwbys current writing so no volume 1 wasnt slow because it had 3 arcs and really good fights despite being the shortest volume in rwby

its not the same RWBY I fell in love with. its true, the passion for the show and the story is gone. I loved the original trailers and the vision of the characters when they were introduced. But they have been changed for toxic shippers and the Crew no longer have any care or respect for the original idea. Miles and Kerry ruined Rwby in my eyes but it wasn't just them, its the whole cast and team forgetting what Monty created. I loved the fighting and fairy tail aspect of this show in the original trailers. that's why I became a fan. But after seeing how they have treated the last volumes over the years, and destroying Adams character and shoehorning bumblebee for toxic fans I cant watch the show. And yup they removing Vic from RWBY was my final nail in the coffin. if they cant respect each other how can they respect the fans. the true fans who have watched since the first trailers dropped years ago when Monty was alive? its simply is not the same RWBY. Yang doesn't care for her younger sister, Ruby, like she did in the older seasons. That was one aspect I loved about yang, being a true older sister. Now Rooster Teeth ruined it and now she is all about Blake which contradicts with her character. At least Weiss had good development as did Sun. The only reason Blake is more emotionally stable is thanks to Suns help which everyone forgets. This show had potential but now its very toxic and to far away from Monty's vision.

I saw this 50 minute video where they tried to find all the hints in the show. They used unused CONCEPT ART as a hint, and they also said that the fact that they're eye color matched each other aura color was a hint. I honestly feel it was always the untention but respect your right to diaagree. I have suspect as much since the scwne in season 2 where yang ties a cherry into a knot while staring at blake and shows it to her. According to the creator commentary, it didn't get past thr censors so they removed the stem, but left rest.. But overall, i'm really not suprised it turned out that way. Yang tends to attract flirty female foes, blakes love interests are all parralela to how she sees yang at the time, (sun the laid back joker, adam shows up when blake is accused of violent assault, illia appears while yang is angry and hurt nlake left her behind) and the two are each other's biggest sources of character development and motivation. It'a just that both are people who play their wmotions very close to their chest and only open up to certain characters. Namely yang to blake, and blake to sun and yang. Bot to mention that their entire arcs during the sepration where a direct result of each other. Blake ran away and finally faces her family because yang got hurt, yang went home because blake leaving rattled her and it was juxtaposed with raven leaving taiyang. I understand that i will probably not be enough to convince you, but wpuld reccomend channel 'xaio long's video essay on their development.

They really should have stayed at the school, have Roman and Neo as the main antagonists for a while, maybe sometimes clash with the white fang, and let them have trials to deal with until graduation. Then when older, wiser and just generally be grown ups you would trust to save the world, cus right now they have just sent kids to beat very skilled and very experienced villains. Imagine if Naruto, still as a child/early teen, had to beat Obito and Madara. That is what is happening, young teens are expected to do what a powerful man and years or trying could not, and why, silver eyes. I honestly don’t even see that as something that can beat Salem since she is not just a Grimm, and she has powers from both the light god (immortality) and dark god (control and creation of Grimm) so logically light eyes will only do half the job. Now of course in the end they will win but honestly it will just be some bullshit win with love or friendship or the power of shipping as this show has gotten to a point where it is not ‘this is how the world works so this can’t happen’, it is now ‘we want this to happen, I don’t care if it makes sense’. But as the writers have said, we don’t know shit about a good story or the work needed to make it. Something they have shown that they clearly can also not do

I agree. I always felt the pacing was too slow to warrent how quickly they made things happen. The ending of volume 3 came out of left field, and even now, the pacing of character growth doesnt match the pacing of events occuring. ruby doesn't feel like shes changed much from when volume 4 started. And yet, the world clock is moving way too fast. Exposition had to be handed out by a magic genie because the characters weren't advancing forward enough to discover it themselves. Full Metal Alchemist did this great, having characters find out the truth through palusible story elements, not deus ex machina.

This isn't something that should've happened till they at least had 2 or 3 relics. The best crushed hope is that which has been grown and nurtured, not one that barely exists in the first place.

The problem is that the pacing issues were due to them jumping in time between volumes and not ever establishing a concrete time for viewers to understand and see in universe. Between V1 and V2, there was apparently 1 entire month that went by. Then V2 to V3 three had even more time fly by with about an entire semester or two passing. The Volumes take place within the span of maybe a 2 weeks at most but because its never explained, it all feel either too fast or too slow.

i get what you're saying, but they are pretty much the same age that naruto was during the war he was in.. He was 16-17 years old For most of Shippuden. Going by the wiki, Ruby is 17 as of volume 6 and Yang is 19.

My problem with bumblebee is that it's incredibly forced. A proper pairing needs to be done more naturally and subtlety. There already was something like that in the show between Blake and Sun, he even had some interesting chemistry with her parents. I personally liked Ruby x Weiss as a pairing but I would have hated it if it had happened like bumblebee. I didn't see team rwby as a sibling sisterhood though, more like a good friends sisterhood.

Darkstarcyber _ I’ve been around since 2011, so I know a thing or two about their content. To be fair with RvB, the show only got “worse” because it truly ended in season 13, in my opinion. The show only keeps going because of the demand. And might as well meet that demand as best you can to keep the money rolling in ya know? Also, their older content such as Immersion, RT Shorts, etc is rarely made nowadays due to them focusing their time and efforts into bigger projects. But even when they make a return to those, they still are very good. Also also, the attitude of the company is based on whoever owns them. Remember, RT isn’t independent anymore. Now I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt here because of the reasons above (and others). Not going to lie and say I haven’t noticed changes but it’s not like they’ve strayed far from who they used to be.

Im very so so on Volume 6. Its easily the most consitently well written season though the vol3s finale is still unsurpased as the inciting incident of this half of the series. But Oscar remains a nothing character, Weiss has had almost nothing to do this entire season, Jaune can't even succeed as a strategist when they give Oscar his lines, Cinders still alive for sone dumb reasonand just to appease the fans they brought Neo back. Coming off vol 3 Yang's arc was the one I was most excited for but her PTSD has been utterly wasted. what's the point of even taking the arm if the trauma isn't even going to be explored and you'll just cut to the sparring sessions? I've always disliked Blake so nothing to say on that front. The fandom interpretation of Raven was always more interesting than what we got and she's ended up as such a toothless leader. And why even bother Showing Adams scar if your just going to kill him off As far as I'm concerned the character arcs I cared for were utterly wasted so the show may as well die... I'll still watch vol 7 though, grudgingly.

I truly did loved RWBY when it first came out. It felt different but in a good way. I loved Yang and I enjoyed Ruby's fangirlism with the Hunters and Huntresses. I liked how fun the battles were even if I aint too keen in battles, and one of the things I love is the relationship for team RWBY. But no, gotta please those shippers somehow. The colors and tone of the new Volume also didnt get me hooked like in the first Volumes. I always have viewed Volume 3 as the pinnacle of RWBY. It was exciting, unpredictable, and while Pyrrha’s death was very bad, it still broke my heart. I was genuinely excited to see where the series was going. Then Volume 4 hit. And I remember feeling very underwhelmed. The animation wasn’t as good, the story wasn’t that easy to follow, and with the exception of Jayne, no one seemed to be affected by the events of V3, something that is STILL CONTINUING! To me, V4 was the beginning of the end. Ruby was cemented as one of the worst protagonists I’ve ever seen, and while there were redeeming qualities like Qrow vs Tyrion and the Ren/Nora arc, everything else was very mediocre. Then V5 came out and I just about rage quit. Animation was TERRIBLE, there were ZERO character arcs aside from a very bad one from Blake and Oscar, and Adam was completely destroyed. I think most people agree that it’s one of, if not the worst, volumes to have come out. Finally, V6. So much promise, only to be thrown away. The Adam short was outstanding, giving us an insight into Adams’s psyche and background. The story of Salem, Oscar and the Gods was AMAZING, although there was too much narration for my taste. And Ruby FINALLY ASKING ABOUT HER SILVER EYES was some redemption for an otherwise bland main character. Then it all gets thrown away in the last 2-3 episodes. Jaune’s guilt over Pyrrha’s death is literally disposed of in a 5 minute segment. The last fight with Cordova was uninteresting and bland. And DEAR GOD, WHAT HAPPENED TO ADAM?! He was built up SO MUCH in the character short and he gets disposed of like its no big deal?! He barely gets any screen time, maybe 20 minutes over 3-4 episodes, and it’s all done so that we can have a lesbian ship shoved down our throats. I’m fine with a gay/lesbian relationship on screen if it’s believable, but C’MON THATS RIDICULOUS!! Yang goes from hating Blake for having abandoned the team after the Fall of Beacon, to fawning over her and climbing on her all the damn time. But wait! What about Sun?! His relationship with Blake had 1000X more chemistry than with Yang! Oh well, the writers apparently foresaw this clash of “ships” and so they intentionally wrote Sun out of the volume so that Blake and Yang would be free to bang without restraint. 🙄 This volume takes all of the good will and patience the fans have given it, and throws it back in our faces. Characters and relationships that the fans actually care about are thrown away in favor of more “marketable” ones. I truly believe that Miles and Kerry give zero fucks about the story and these decisions are based around SJW trumping rather than decent writing. Adam is a compelling, threatening and complex character that audiences love to hate? Well, he is abusive so we can’t have him in our show. Sun and Blake are getting in the way of our LGBT pandering? Well let’s write Sun out of the show with zero payoff at all. Oh and let’s make an entire town that’s basically San Francisco so that we can create ANOTHER gay couple to market to the LGBT! And don’t even get me started on the whole KickVic fiasco. $30 says that Qrow is either killed next season, or he is shamed into becoming useless and a backseat pawn. It’s pathetic. This show isn’t even worth the time of day anymore. Poor Monty is probably rolling in his grave

SultenZone The design of the town was...fine. Wasn’t bad by any means, but it wasn’t like Mistral or even Menagerie in my opinion. The problem is what the town “represents” not how it looks. The town, which I don’t even remember what it’s called, is basically a carbon copy of San Francisco. Which is fine until you realize that the only reason it exists is so we can have a “Oh being LGBT is perfectly normal and a-ok!” Moment. One that also feels out of place. We haven’t seen or even HEARD of any kind of discrimination against LGBT people in the RWBY-verse before, so why is it necessary to have this town act as some kind of symbol? This is a blatant message to the audience, not a piece of clever writing or even decent storytelling. It’s nothing but virtue signaling, something that was RAMPANT throughout this season. And the sad thing is that the virtue signaling isn’t needed. No one had a problem with 4 girls leading a show, nor with any potential gay characters. And those that did were never watching the show to begin with. And to me, the virtue signaling does FAR more harm than good to the LGBT community. If you put something that you assume people don’t like on a pedestal, with every action drawing constant praise, than those people are going to reject it and the message is lost. However, if you put it on a level playing field alongside everything else and force it to fight for a proper spot on the mountain, than it becomes more compelling. But Miles and Kerry evidently don’t care about creating a compelling story or character arc. They care about explicit and decisive virtue signaling that does nothing but create an echo chamber that drives away anyone and everyone who doesn’t 100% agree with their position

I know a lot of fans (many of them ex-fans now I suppose) were really disappointed with Adams fall, and yeah, part of me feels it could have been done better. But I'm not sure how. I feel like the reasons Adam has seemed less and less stable recently is exactly the reason Yang stated in their fight. He pretended. He pretended to care about his fellow faunus and as the seasons have progressed we have seen how untrue that is. All he ever cared about was revenge and spite. In season 6 we see the true face of Adam. (hence why we see him outside of the mask) The person we saw before was just him using the goal of the White Fang as an excuse to hurt people. Just like it showed in his character short. Or at least, that's my impression of it. You are of course free to disagree.

Thx and enjoy (Now Cinder believes she has bested Ozpin as she leave the basement but much to her surprise he survived the battle and chased her after pulling him self out of the Rubble that buried him...Ozpin fatigued and in tatters as he see Cinder walking around his office. Monologuing to Ozpin that he had a chance to run but chose death. Ozpin replies with I may die but I plan to take you with me. He then activates his last trump card.... The office start to move and the gears turn giving Ozpin a boost to his aura and semblance of time manipulation. The fight start to go in to Ozpin favor of victory but the unexpected occurred. The Grimm dragon crashing into the tower and destroying the office cutting off Ozpin add boost an slowly losing his power...) Now let not forget about Ruby & Weiss they are running back to the school and can see the fire and green lights at the top of the school. ( as Ruby & Weiss run closer to school they see 2 people on the ground when they get closer they notice that it is Pyrrha and Jaune. Ruby drop to a knee asking if there ok an don't get a answer. A Weiss took in the condition that Jaune and Pyrrha are in she told Ruby that Jaune not doing so good and need treatment. Then they notice the sound of battle has stopped an look up to see nothing happening. Ruby says she need to get up there and Weiss sigh and knew she say that an help her get up there...) Now jump back to the fight with Ozpin And Cinder ( as Ozpin has lost his one an only hope to win Cinder start to toy with him by cutting him in the back then droping him to his knee by cutting his thigh and as he screamed out in pain she sank her sword into his chest) and this is were Ruby show up and see Cinder dust Ozpin and she has the Silver Eyes reveal. End of this scene What do u think? I like this way more to give Ozpin a better fight an death and to break Pyrrha Huntress spirit by hurting Jaune showing that even the best can fall to despair and trials. I hope you enjoyed how i would tell a story... I know it need some work but i hope u get the Direction I was going.

Yeah Pyrrha died stupidly, but that doesn't mean she should come back. Keep dead characters dead. Backpedaling on even one death cheapifies the whole thing, and Vol3 was meant to have a dark turn because they wanted to establish that there is a threat. I mean, you praise Adam for showing how high level he is, but dislike the rest of the volume doing the same thing? I just find that weird since if there's one thing RWBY did right it was taking a really corny and slow slice of life with cool fight scenes into a serious anime with what was supposed to be cool fight scenes, not the snorefest that was the Vol5 finale fight.

I dropped pretty much all of RT because of what is happening with RWBY and the situation with VIC, When I learned that most of the VAs on gen lock where kikvic supporters I just refuse to watch it. Rooster Teeth is going to loose a lot of fans (and money) because of those two reasons alone, all of my friends (10 people) cancelled their FIRST subscription too. As for me, well I'll follow Barbara D. and Lindsay J. Outside of RT because I love their work, but that's it. It's sad but this is how things turned out.

An excellent video. I felt legitimate depressed listening to this, but it's a commendation of just how heartfelt and genuinely you mirrored my own thoughts on all this. The new RWBY may be "better written" or have way better graphics. But where's the heart? Where's the soul? The only overflowing passion I saw from Volume 6 are the superb fights from the animation team, who seem obviously inspired by Monty's work directly. But the ones in charge? No. I could feel passion and creative energy bursting from Monty's RWBY. It was not the best written, it was janky at times and looked low budget, but the characters were filled with life and every episode was a joy to watch. I knew that even if it was flawed, I'd be in more a fun and creative ride. I get nothing of that from Miles and Kerry's RWBY, and if I did feel something, I would only be disappointed later as they either drop the ball or show that their intentions to improve weren't genuine. They have no idea what they're doing, yet pretend they're saving this show and are the best people for the task, when even other companies like Arc System Works, the official manga artists (Bunta Kinami and Shirow Miwa) and FANS can create better and more inspiring content than they have these 3+ years. I hate that the only reason RWBY isn't the best it could be is because RT is holding it back through their own incompetence and stubborn refusal to admit wrongs or handle criticism properly. Imagine if stuff like Patreon, Kickstarter or Indiegogo were more popular back then -- Monty would have owned all the rights and published RWBY himself. He'd need to hire 3D modelers to create assets, concept artists and voice actors, but I'd take it if I knew that the same people he entrusted to help carry his legacy would not only prove to be woefully incompetent, but now after the Vic incident, are also venomous to work with and closed off to any criticism. It hurts so much, so frustrating knowing that RT are holding something so inspirational and close to our hearts hostage and profiting off it, all the while gloating how they're "carrying Monty's memory" and "moving forward", making themselves immune to critique and just doing whatever the hell they want with RWBY. I don't doubt that RT is perfectly willing to drag RWBY down with them and burn it all to the ground rather than admit their own failings to deliver on RWBY's immense creative potential and give up the rights to more capable hands who not only respect his work, but also the fans and critics, and have to passion to breathe life into it again. Miles and Kerry are not artists, not the kind Monty was. At least at first, I thought they had no idea how to replicate Monty's unique style, but at least had the passion and good intentions to make something good out of the pieces he left behind. But after this Vic incident, how am I supposed to believe that? At least I thought when they cast out Vic, colleague and supposed professional friend of 3 years over rumours was a corporate move to save face, cruel but pragmatic, but now that they also publicly spit venom at his defenders and fans, how am I supposed to believe these people are level-headed or even noble? What does Monty's legacy and creative child even mean to them, if this is how they treat their colleagues who trusted them? Vic wasn't the first either, Shane was kicked out after Monty's death, and if anything, his open letter only becomes more and more sobering with each passing incident. We didn't want to believe it at the time. That Rooster Teeth was corporatising RWBY and ignoring Monty's intentions for it for whatever reasons. But looking at it now? Maybe Shane had more ground to stand on than we were willing to give him credit for. After shipbaiting for brownie points, butchering Adam, and proving that the writers let half the show be decided by fans and the other half be riddled with retcons, I can't trust them anymore. Worse is I regret ever trusting them in the first place, as early as Monty's death and Shane's letter. We gave them the benefit of the doubt for almost FIVE YEARS time and again and not only do they disappoint, they ignore, isolate, demonise and send their rabid fans and shippers after those of use who want nothing more than to see the heart return to RWBY and the memory of its creator held in value and respected.

I feel like RWBY has been on a downward spiral since the second half of Volume 3. It just got dark out of nowhere. Characters started not making sense. Characters were now defined by one trait. Consequences were forgotten. Lore is just straight up ignored. Worst of all defined character traits are just ignored for ship baiting. This is why I don't watch RWBY. After Vol 4, I always had an uneasy feeling that prevented me from watching more after 4. I had the teeny want of watching the rest but between what people have been saying as well as friends who watched the recent stuff, in a way it was no longer what it was. Which could had been a good thing after watching Vol. 4 but between villains dying suddenly and the weird shipping pandering, I'm disillusioned as an OG RWBY fan. It's turned into those "Not my X" cases, "Not my RWBY" in this case. While the animation was janky, the first 3 volumes had heart in a way. Watching Vol 4 was me hoping they kept that heart. From what I heard, Vol. 5 onwards discarded most of that heart if not all of it.

I made a comment on MuffinManDan's supposedly last (newest) video earlier so I'm just gonna paste it here since its mostly about Adam and the other things you talked about. "Overall the way the Adam fight was handled left me apathetic and like many have said, the ending of V6 in general was a let down in some regards. Over time though, through watching Adel Aka's video about BumbleBee and a clip of Miles talking about Adam I think Miles actually hated Adam. As someone who's interested in writer (thanks to RWBY) I just felt turned off or disgusted by this idea that a writer could genuinely hate one of their characters. I understand that the character is a terrorist and has abused their former partner but like.... the writer literally made them that way. Its as if god hated humans for doing something he made them do. Its nonsensical. Yeah I dropped RWBY too, actually before volume 6 because I was worried they would make Bumblebee canon to please the fans. Unfortunately it seems I was right. I will miss Monty Oum’s RWBY. It inspired me too. It’s because of him and his success that I have the guts to produce my own anime style comic. (I can’t animate or do sound design.) It’s a shame what is being done to RWBY. If Volume 7 dropped tomorrow, I honestly don't think I'd even watch it. I loved most of Volume 6. It started so strong. But once they started the plan to steal the airship, it all went to hell. Those last few episodes killed my enthusiasm for RWBY. And that's a shame. RWBY was the reason I got a FIRST account. So far Gen:LOCK is the only reason I haven't canceled it yet. I'll still read fanfics, maybe look up some art once in awhile. But I'm in no rush to watch what else happens in RWBY.

Honestly I stopped watching RWBY after 2 episodes in season 5. The main reason I watched and kept watching was the cool fight scenes. I didn't really care much about the story. I felt that the whole story was just to give some context and reason on as to why these cool characters are fighting. Though I did get invested after season 3 after the whole fall of beacon thing. But season 4 was just underwhelming to me. And after just 2 episodes in season 5 I fully lost interest in it. Now the only RWBY related content that I watch are the fight scenes, people talking about the story, and meme videos.

Gonna get a LOT of heat for saying this. To people who say Miles & Kerry are "ruining Monty's work" or "‪RWBY‬ isn't good anymore", it's time everyone hears something. RWBY was severely flawed, incomplete & inconsistent even long back when Monty was calling the shots. Now before anyone comes at me with hate, threats or saying I'm disrespecting Monty Oum, listen up. I love/respect the guy & his work to this very day. However, that said I will not ignore that at the end of the day, Monty was human just like everyone else & he made mistakes. The world of Remnant is extremely simplistic in terms of how it works, the culture-or lack thereof-of the various nations that make it up, the constant changing of how the power system works, characters were still being figured out while the story was going on, the list goes on.... Monty clearly didn't think through everything of his fictional world & story before he brought it to the world, as he should have & this shows itself constantly in the series by new elements being added in on the spot & others constantly being retconned sooner or later. Hell, one of the trademark things of RWBY is that everything is a gun, but yet ranged weapons are some of the most ineffective weapons we've seen in the series. The maidens were introduced in the story as these important beings, but they're little more than fancy key-people. Yang didn't didn't have much of anything to her character until later on. There's prejudice & discrimination in a world where literal demons walk among them who are attracted to negativity. And said demons are easily trounced by a couple of kids on a regular basis. This was all while Monty was still making the story & even the maidens, which are integral parts of the plot were just dropped in in v3! Guys, Monty was an amazing animator but he wasn't the best at writing a story, let alone one as big as RWBY was trying to be. To me, RWBY always seemed like it was made of many great & wonderful ideas but there was no real thread to connect them all into one cohesive piece of art. If anything, M&K seem to be trying their best to work with these masses of ideas & turn them into a solid story/world. And I will admit that a lot of what they're doing isn't the best by a long shot & there are many issues here & there, I can definitely say that they are improving in their craft & are at the very least trying, which is more than I can say for some writers. So before you go blaming M&K for something you find bad about RWBY, remember that it was never structurally sound from the get go. Hell, even if Monty was still alive, other than the fights and choreography improving, the show would either be as good as it is now or worse than that. Miles and Kerry were involved with the creation of RWBY since the very beginning. They are literally the most knowledgeable of what exactly Monty’s vision for the show was. They’re literally the co-creators alongside Monty. I know we all love & miss Monty, but we can't let our feelings blind us from the truth that the problems at RWBY's core were indeed his fault too.

Also, Pyrrha’s death was planned from the very beginning. Jen Brown literally said that Monty told her from the very beginning that her character was going to die in a few Volumes. They literally had a cosplay photo of Cinder and Pyrrha in the same exact positions they were when Pyrrha was killed, a year before it happened in the show. Pyrrha’s death was decided by Monty himself from the very beginning. There’s just no denying it.

I think the Maidens are a dead giveaway for how the writing had functioned all this time. First, they're introduced out of nowhere (because Monty - not to speak ill of the dead - just dropped it on Miles and Kerry). Then we get the Relics introduced. Then it's revealed that the only real plot-purpose for the Maidens (beyond whatever Salem's plan for Cinder is) is to unlock the doors to the vaults containing the Relics. The writing in RWBY isn't perfect. It never was (heck, I insist that Volumes 1 and 2 are the worst of the series). But Miles and Kerry are doing their best to organize a story and world around ideas and plans that Monty just threw out. That's no easy feet. All that being said, I am considering boycotting RWBY myself, due to Miles' treacherous behavior on Twitter.

I agree the story had a lot issues, but you could tell that Monty's had a clear vision of what he wanted to do since it was his passion project in the end, he was never a writer but more into the fun stuff and the crazy fights, get he still made a decent work on making a simple enough setting for the sort of show he wanted to work, but know It feel like M&K don't know in which direction to take the series, they just stuck with the ideas he left, introduced their own and took the show to a new different narrative were they want to be more serious and mature with the story, it doesn't feel like the same show anymore, even characters are starting to lost their charm because it was obvious it was Monty as a creator understood then better than anyone, and I wouldn't say that M&K are bad writers since they needed to wrap up everything, but they also were the ones who decided to take it a lot on their own direction after he died.

Ok I have some questions about RWBY, feel free to answer them because I'm so confused: 1: How does a Maiden's power differ from a semblance? From what I know in volume 3 General Ironwood was explaining to Pyrhha that they were figuring out how aura works and goes on to say that while they can't transfer the power directly to her, they can transfer what the power is BOUND too, which Pyrhha says the aura. So since when a person's aura breaks a person can't use their semblance so shouldn't the Maiden's power be the same? 2: How did Cinder kill Ozpin? This is something that never made sense to me since they never show it but from when Jaune and Pyrhha left the in the vault room to when they got outside, the fight didn't last long so how did she beat him that fast? 3: How did Ruby know Cinder's name at the end of Volume 3? Maybe I missed something I don't know. 4: Why is Illia in love with Blake? It just seems to out of place to me, she never says why she is so what about Blake does she likes? I can see if Illia was in love with Adam but Adam was in love with Blake so that made her jealous, but Blake is a great friend to her and a good person so she was conflicted to doing harm to her and her family but I don't know that's my opinion. 5: What's the deal with the Pyrrha statue in Volume 6? How did the people in Argus know that Pyrhha died? I thought all the people outside of the Vytal festival saw was Grimm and atlas miltary attacking before the video feed got disconnected but maybe I forgot something. 6: When Ruby asked Jinn "what is Ozpin hiding?" Why didn't Jinn show anything about Ozpin? Shouldn't we have seen more about the man Ozma merged with and not just Ozma's backstory? 7: When Ozma first merged with someone, it was some random guy whom we didn't get a name for, but at that time who was in more control? When Ozma had kids with Salem was Ozma taking over the body or was it the original man? I know this is a lot but I'm a bit confused on some of this stuff.

I hate how so many characters die like they need to fill a quota from Stalins list in atleast every season. And when they do die it's sudden, unexplained, destroying any character buildup, and leaves a hole in the story no other character can fill. No Roman or Adam means we only got the lame cookie cutter villans left. And the ltbq characters feel shallow and fake a shame since a single good one in a story is all you need. It's crazy how many people are dropping RWBY after Volume 6. What many people thought was a "good" Volume turned out to be the most polarizing Volume ever released and IMO the worst Volume in the whole series. Yes, even worse than Volume 5 (Fight me). Volume 6 was the first Volume I watched and said "Wow. This is fucking terrible." And that's coming from someone who tolerated Volume 5. I'm glad someone else didn't think it was that bad. But it was still a really bad Volume. I'm glad more people are starting to see how bad RWBY is now. This is the first thing that's been able to sum up my issues with rwby. I thought I was still enjoying it, until I just couldn't get myself to watch volume 6. And honestly Vic was the tipping point. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is my absolute favorite anime of all time, and Edward is one of my favorite characters in anything (anime, games, movies, any form of media he is towards the top) so it pains me to see the voice of one of my favorite characters be ridiculed this way. Honestly people can hate me if they want, but I never EVER thought there was that much chemistry between Blake and Yang. Yes they were friends and partners, but that doesn't mean they have those kind of feelings for each other. People will probably just say, "well skyler that's cause yang is your favorite girl and you just don't want to accept that there is evidence". No, that's not it at all. Yes Yang is my favorite character in RWBY. She has a similar personality to myself and I always found that awesome. But that isn't my problem. My problem was to me they never had any romantic chemistry. Yang once asked Blake to save her a dance. I've danced with guys as a joke, that doesn't mean I swing that way; it's a thing girls do. As for Adam, at the end of volume 3, I hated Adam; and that was great, because it was the point of his character. You weren't supposed to like him or what he did, he was made to be hated. The following seasons made him nothing but a useless villain. Anyways that's all I have to say. I wil probably stil read into what happens in rwby from time to time, but I will no longer be watching the show.

Yeah, I simply stopped watching after Pyrrha died. I mean, I did watch a few episodes after, but the color pallet and tone of the show was completely gone. It used to be black and white with the colours of the characters being the extreme highlight, I loved it! Now, it’s just super saturated and the mystery and somewhat ominous undertones are completely gone. The first opening had the quote “Welcome to the world of bloody evolution,” and it really felt like that. This RWBY doesn’t. I also don’t like to take politics into account when “reviewing” media. If it can get by on its own merit, I generally don’t care. Though, I have been keeping up with the Vic situation and I does suck.

I've been with RWBY since the day the Red trailer premiered at the end of the RvB finale episode (I was originally into RvB). So I too am greatly pained to distance myself from something I had once harbored such love and excitement for. I will never forget the day I watched the Red trailer 6 years ago and was blown away by it. What they really need is TIME! They need to really stop trying to make a volume release every October and instead have it be release every other year. For the past few volumes they never even finish storyboarding, let alone animating, the last 2-3 episodes before the first one airs. For example they stated that this volume was going to be 14 episodes long, then they stated they had to cut it down to 13 but make the last one longer, only to have 13 be 10 minutes of the show and 15 minutes of credits. They always end up rushing because of this time table and it NEED TO STOP! If they make 1 year RWBY and 1 year Gen:Lock, that gives them more time to write, rewrite, animate, watch it through, make notes, and change story elements or animation changes. They can even make each episode at least 20 minutes long and not have to rush the ending of volumes. I understand you are 'done' but do you think it would be better for the show to have a year between each volume instead of a few months like it is currently?

Lightdragoon88 You dont get the actual problem, it´s not that they need extra time to make a better volume per year, it´s that they are mismanaging their time, resources and employees, which in turn damages the final product, did you even read Shane´s letter? Monty had given them all the material needed to improve Poser with Maya Elements without having to make the switch which they didnt do thus they wasted time, Monty have the fight scripts already in place for Vol 3 but RT choose to make their own fight scripts and waste more time, Monty told RT they should stop wasting time with standardization procedures in regards to RWBY and let him pick the skilled animators and give them a private studio where they could devellop RWBY with less time wasters and constraints, Monty was always very keen on optimizing the work done on RWBY to guarantee the series delivered, RT didnt give a rats ass about any of that, they can have another year or two to make the next volume and it wont mean shit, because they employee the wrong people for the animation job, their higher-ups are constantly meddling with the work of their employees and they´ll fire whoever doesnt like the way the higher-ups do things (Shane and dillon´s cases), they simply wont deliver monty level volumes in terms of fight choreography anymore because they ruined the working atmosphere in regards to the people working in RWBY used to have, they fired the top competent people, and replaced them with less competent ones, this is the same shit Star Wars went through, to the point, good writters no longer want to work with it, there´s a reason for it, it´s called bad work environment, this sort of stuff cant be healed in 1 or two extra years for a volume, this kind of stuff can only be healed by changing the toxic work rules taking M&K out of the series as writters, hire competent people to work on RWBY and Reboot the whole thing back to Volume 1 and improve on the initial flaws of the series.

It was Adam that crossed the line for me. What he did really wasn't what I'd expect from him. I expected him to be focused more on the cause. And if he would be around team RWBY he'd be after Weiss. He hated her family already and the scar he had made me just question why was he after Blake again. Then for him to just be used for ship support made me just see no other good villains left to really keep things going if they all where going out like that. Hopefully I'll hear good news about it to make me think about returning.

In early 2014 I started writing, but in late 2015 when I’d failed three projects I gave up. Then I found RWBY and for the same reasons you mentioned I was inspired, inspired to write again. I’m still writing 4 years later, and while I wanted to give up during my first attempt spanning a year I never had that thought again over the next 4. I’m not published, I’m still improving, but I go on. To me, it’s easy to be inspired. It happened a lot in my childhood, everything I enjoyed became fuel for my creativity. However, to be re-inspired after giving up? That’s much harder. Yet one show did that, and that’s amazing. I’m grateful for RWBY, for Monty, and what they’ve both done. But I can’t support the show anymore, it’s no longer the same RWBY that pushed me forward. It’s a shell of its former self; a bunch of hollowed out puppets parading around. I’ll keep moving forward but on my own, and whatever memories reside. And even if RWBY is destined to die, it’s legacy won’t.

FYI: Monty himself planned on killing off Pyrrha. HOWEVER, it was supposed to happen in Season 6 ( I think) which is when Beacon was supposed to fall originally. RoosterTeeth is rushing through Monty's planned material so they can make the show turn out how they want, which is different than what Monty wanted. RWBY used to have admittedly crappy visual design and voice acting, but now the visuals and acting are fine, the story and half the fights are crap. Half the music is meh in my opinion, while there are gems. I've heard some covers that sound better than the original songs.

I do think it was stated in one of Monty's old notes, and RoosterTeeth HAS swapped things around orderwise since his passing. Parts of Adam's final fight against Yang and Blake shown in the most recent season were supposed to be used back in Season 3 in the scene where Yang lost her arm.

5:35 Korrasami didn't wen't down like that, they planned it in preproduction but Nickelodeon was skeptical about showing an LGBT relationship onscreen so they made it much more subtle. Korrasami was written before it became a popular ship. But look, I get what you're trying to say. Also, the second Book is the actual worst, not the fourth.

Im in a full agreement that RWBY is going down the wrong path but for me all still watch just to pick up the broken story and fix it so it would be something that hopefully Monte would approve... I'll share one part for the fall of Beacon end part 1...hope u like this part ( we start when Pyrrha give Jaune that kiss) yes i start with the biggest trash in season 3.. ( as she push Jaune to the Locker he trip on some Rubble and miss going in to the Locker, but hit the side hard to make it take off...Jaune is coughing as Pyrrha look in shock on what she's done again. Feeling a little betrayed and mad Jaune look up at Pyrrha face and see the tears in her eyes as she mumbles words that he cannot hear, as she back away from him. Pyrrha says I need to fix this, with a glazed look in her Tear filled eye's. Jaune see this and scrambles to run after her. He know the only way to catch her is to discard his heavy armor so he rips it off..... /straps are damaged from the rocket lockers fire. And the hoodie has no rabbit design. One thing i would change Aura only protects the body not the clothes. So keep that in mind\ with is armor discarded he catches up and tackles her to the ground she kick him off her and is in her fighting stance. Jaune does that same but try to get her to listen to him as she attack. He is defending for his life barely able 2 Dodge or block her attacks. There is one thing he could try but the risk is High, he use a attack that Pyrrha show him to take down a opponent but does not follow through and take a hit to the side and a cut to his face that he was luck to have miss his eye to grab her wrist as they fell to the ground. As drops of Jaune blood hit Pyrrha face her eyes start to clear.. (Welcome back Pyrrha.) With pain tear eye's he smile as says these last words (I don't want to lose you) before he fell unconscious. She then let go of her weapon and just hold Jaune as she repeats the same word over and over (I'm so sorry) end of this scene...so what u think...can it work or was it to much or needed more?

I honestly hope rooster teeth hires new writers and hires Vic back. It’s the only way to save the show. But I’m not holding my breath for it tho. If this keeps going it would be a tremendous disservice to Monty and what he created and imagined. It’s sad he could of completed his work and give us what he envisioned for the show. Rest In Peace Monty you are missed.
