I don't get excited over "potential". There is the potential of a Sony A7XXIV as well. Until it is announced. No sense getting excited.

@@Borodin410 Totally understand your point, but there can be excitement in talking about what's to come. This is just around the corner, and a lot of the rumors of previous models ended up being true.

If Sony decides to make the A7V faster as people seem to be asking, it may come at the cost of dynamic range, similar to other cameras like the Z6iii. Seeing that the Z6iii has the same DR as some APSC crop cameras as low ISO, and it's only a 24MP sensor, I'm not sure it's a tradeoff Sony wants to make. 4k60 no crop is a given, and I think 4k120 with APSC crop is very likely. The new AI autofocus is certain. I would love to see the tilt+articulating mechanism from the A7RV make it to the A7V. That's really all they need to do to keep as a great competitive option for a hybrid professional camera, particularly wedding photographers. Sony won't want to step on the A7RV though, so some things might be left to it like the improved screens and screen hinge. I'm also not sure if they ever intend to make a successor to the A7Siii, presumably an A7Siv... but they also have cinema cameras like the FX3. I wouldn't get my hopes up for 6k or open gate for A7V. I'm not sure if they'll stick with the same 33MP... it's hard to go back but 24MP makes more sense if you want to improve the readout speed without giving up too much DR, and going up steps on the A7RV. Hard to tell what way they'll take it.

What Sony will do, is use the same sensor again since it's still new. Then they will put a faster processor into it to make the performance better. You're not going to see another new sensor in the base A7 series anytime soon.

If Sony's eye AF and AI wasn't so good I'd easily jump to Panasonic. They are very good. Excellent glass and beautiful colors straight out of camera. However, Sony has been top of the line since the A7iii.
