I loved this demo so much! the combat and exploration felt SO perfect to me, a nice breezy summer action JRPG. I ended up buying Trials of Mana (it's great) and preordering this one, so I guess you can say yeah it was an effective demo lol I do have to say I'm a little surprised at people saying the combat feels clunky? I believe them but I am VERY sensitive to this kind of thing in ARPGs and it really didn't bother me. I think compared to some action RPGs that get very heavily praised for their combat but are far, far worse in how clunky they feel (cough cough! FF7R! cough cough cough cough!), this one is fine/good. it's not quite Ys but what is. I really enjoyed playing the girl with the fans. my biggest issue is that the Morley guy (is that his name) is so uncanny valley and I will be swapping him out of my party immediately. I also agree the faces are just a little off in general but I like the diversity.

That is a very effective demo it seems. Glad Trials is working for you as well, after Visions I may go back to Trials depending on how I'm feeling. FF7R is an interesting case because some of it is inevitable because of the hybrid system but then Daybreak and Metaphor are trying to do that mix but smoother. I'm curious what platform you played the demo on? I've found platform differences to be significant. You got his name right, and I get your point. I can't leave Kaiji Tang's voice out of my party though so he'll stick around for me

@@CommRio I was shocked to see it was him, I love Kaiji Tang haha. also I played the demo on the Steam Deck and the only technical issues I had was getting stuck under the boat during the boss fight. no frame drops I noticed (and these are the things I usually notice)

Never been a huge fan of Mana, but I want to give this a shot. Just waiting on a proper PS5 to play it on

I hope the performance does ok. Unreal engine has been a bit frustrating this generation... Granted a game's success isn't purely tied with it's performance, but if all the jittery performance shudders make me motion sick, that's no good. How does this compare to Trials of Mana remake??
@CommRio4 ай бұрын
I didn't have any performance issues with the demo but I know my experience is not universal. As compared to Trials of Mana what I've heard is that Trials had the better gameplay system certainly. Voice performance is much better for Visions, and after that is a little hard to tell this early on

Really excited for this game, but as always, the biggest problem is that there are more great games coming out than I have time to play. I haven't played Gran Blue Fantasy or Elydan Chronicles Hundred Heroes yet, not because both games don't look fantastic, but because there just isn't enough time to get to all of these.

Oh of course, time is the limiting factor. I've thankfully gotten to the point where it's not too bad for me, but that's just in preparation for Ys X and Metaphor ReFantazio in October

@@CommRio Question I've always wanted to ask a youtuber: do you have a day job? What I don't get is how you can have a day job, be a youtuber, spend time with your friends and family, sleep and still have a lot of time for gaming. My day job is incredibly demanding, as it is for a lot of people, and so I have to pick and choose what games I play. I played Yakuza Like a Dragon last Christmas but haven't started Infinite Wealth yet, which really sucks. My gaming time right now is trails as the first priority and then I'll get to anything else only after trails is done. I'm in the last chapter of Daybreak right now (first playthrough) and it's taken me this long to get here because my day job has taken up so much of my time and attention the last six weeks. It gets like that sometimes, when a lot of things are due at once. Is that what life is like for you too?
@CommRio4 ай бұрын
@@SuperSupersoda I'm more than happy to answer. I do have a day job, it is a more administrative job which means there are some down moments that I usually use to answer comments and write some of my scripts. Otherwise though it is about trying to be purposeful with my time, and it's not easy. This year I've been struggling with it more than usual because my job has been more demanding than my previous one, but I'm dedicated to the channel that I have built and at this point certain tasks don't take as long as they once took me because I've upgraded my computer and improved my own efficiency and skills. My Daybreak situation is somewhat reminiscent of yours. I finished the game last weekend and part of that is because I went abroad on vacation for a week almost immediately after the game released. I do tend to only be able to prioritize one game at a time. Now that Daybreak is done then I can use this time before Visions of Mana releases to concentrate on getting the Daybreak video done. That's the plan at least. Hope this gives some insight, thank you for the comment and questions!

I played the demo and just didn’t feel it at all. I was excited too, maybe I’ll give it some time and see how it goes.

Hey that's what the demo is for, and not every game is going to work for every person. If you do end up getting it I hope it exceeds your expectations, but no pressure
