Hi Gabi, As a property manager myself, you could absolutely take this to court if you wanted to. There is something called "fair housing laws" please look it up. It prevents property managers form discriminating from anyone. Just the fact alone that they would not accept Niki and told her they need to postpone her move in is a lawsuit within itself. They are not allowed to deny anyone who qualifies based on other factors or opinions. I know you are not out for money, but this situation alone would bring a settlement and would really teach those ladies a lesson. Aside from the lawsuit, unless someone is staying at your place for 2 weeks or more, they do not need to sign a lease and are still considered a guest. You are not wrong! And leaving packages at the office is not a violation either.

This is the first time ever seeing your videos and I'm old enough to be your mother and I will say that the property manager was in the wrong. You gave her too much power. Don't do that, ever. It's a business, not a friendship. As long as you are abiding by the rules set in your lease and paying your rent on time, they legally can not evict you. I will say it's better that you didn't stay. I wouldn't want to live in that either. It seems she was jealous of you and that's a shame. I don't understand why some women get jealous of other women. She wasn't abiding by the rules. I am sure there is a provision in her lease about noise abatement during certain hours. I am also sure that she cannot allow people just to stay there any time they want, and especially when she, the tenant is not there. I am pretty sure that if she painted the walls, she must repaint them the back to the original color when she leaves. All of this will be in the lease and/or the rules addendum to the lease.

Contact the landlord and tenant board Gabi, this is harassment. I worked in building management and your landlord was completely in the wrong. For instance, the cigarettes, she can't accuse you for smoking in the building unless she she's you or someone doing it. She's completely breaching the line of privacy with you as the tenant. If I were you I would contact the head office of the building company because she could get into great trouble for what she's doing or has done. She CANNOT hold anything you do in your personal time against you. If she watched your vlogs that's her choice, as long as you're being respectful as a tenant and paying your rent on time, you're doing nothing wrong and she CANNOT hold what your doing in your vlogs against you. She's full on harassing you and you need to report her! You can use your email conversation to prove that you're trying as a tenant and that your landlord is not cooperating, please remember in tenant and building management, the tenant is always right . Also if they can't prove that your boyfriend and friends are staying over for a consecutive amount of days than they cannot force them to sign a lease. I don't know who this company is but they're definitely a shady company and you need to contact head office and landlord/tenant board !

I know they were in the position where they couldn't discriminate against her for a place to live just because she's young, and I'm not sure how she presented herself when applying, I'm assuming best foot forward which might have mistakenly given them a different expectation of who she was; I don't know if they knew she made videos or not, or if they did because she showed good / consistant/ reliable income so they did not care or know what that entailed - again, riding a line of a possible discriminatory accusation if they didn't rent to her bevause of that - bottom line, it happens everyday and if they didn't want a young person living there then they should have said it was already rented (unless they just really wanted / needed the numbers up for rental occupation and income to the company at the time, what ever. I am inclined to think they had a different impression or that they wanted her to entertain them, and she didn't so the complaints began. She could have very well complained that she couldn't get her work done, or even have heard herself over their foot stamping overhead and dog barking from below. But she didn't because she was living her life, and that's why young and old don't mix. They felt old and insignificant and thought she was going to have time to be their froend, which she didn't because she's busy hustling, so they got mad/ hurt feelings, and started picking on every little thing

Gabi: I’ve worked in leasing apartments just like these. Yes, maybe you shouldn’t have had the party, but you were incredibly apologetic and if I were Josephine/the leasing agents I would have been satisfied with your response. However, everything else was NOT YOUR FAULT. In fact, the leasing team broke several Fair Housing laws during the course of your stay that you can NOT ONLY sue the apt management company for, but you can also personally sue Josephine for. For one, they are NOT supposed to disclose any kind of demographics about anyone living or touring the apts to ANYONE, ESPECIALLY tenants. She disclosed the age and gender of the lady living below you AND she disclosed the fact that the person below you complained. That in itself it’s a sue-able offense. As silly as it seems, I believe it’s the law and she broke it. Secondly, they are discriminating against Niki living in the apts (“we should hold off her move-in”) simply because she is your sister/knows you. That is suuuuuuuuch a HUGE fair housing violation, it’s not even funny. Another sue-able offense. Good job Josephine... The packages (not sure if this is fair housing) are NOT YOUR FAULT. There is NO reason for her to get mad at you simply because you have packages. Terrible customer service. Also, just because there is garbage near your sisters car does NOT MEAN that SHE is the one who put the garbage there. Josephine has absolutely no proof that the garbage is niki’s. Unbelievable that this lady is citing this as one of the reasons she’s evicting you, that is grounds to sue as well. I’m sorry but no - just because you were using the box thing in the wall for the clown to crawl out of, is not grounds to evict. Yes, maybe a warning, but seriously I’ve had people do waaaaaaay worse stuff than that and not get evicted. We had someone try to break into my managers office to beat her up that she locked herself inside of because she was scared for her safety and even then she still had to go to the property lawyers to see if we could evict (we did finally after a YEAR of similar behavior...trust me guys I would replace that tenant in a heartbeat with gabi if I could lol). Seriously, what you did is not a big deal, and why is she even watching your vlogs anyways, creepy. But anyways, I could go on and on about the multiple violations Josephine broke that you could PERSONALLY sue her for as well as suing the property/the management company, but I suggest looking up Fair Housing laws and suing her ass. I would have had a few choice words for her. I used to work at an apartment complex and unless Kenny and Collin were getting mail at your apartment THEY DONT LIVE THERE. When we suspected that there were extra people in an apartment we would talk to the mail man to see who else gets mail there. It's really wrong that they were treating you that way; but if I were you I would seek legal advice. Summary (for any one who needs one): basically when gabi first moved into the apartment complex she tried really hard to make sure the older tenant ladies liked her and continuously did that throughout the time she stayed there. but ppl think what they want and the tenant ladies SUCKED ass. they got mad at her when she threw her Halloween party last year and said there were multiple "noise complaints" but there was really no evidence of that and gabi talked to neighbors beforehand who were chill about it. then the tenant ladies were rude and judgmental regarding the packages she received and how many of them, saying "you should really donate things you receive, cause you don't need them" point blank: they were jealous. gabi didn't like going to the office to pick up packages because every time she would have to deal with their rude comments and it was gut wrenching+anxiety filled so she tried to avoid the place as much as she could but ofc that only made them angrier. They were also very persistent on Gabi and Collin living together and putting his name on the lease and taking their relationship to the next level. which is very weird if you think about. they also got mad when Kenny stayed over while she was on vacation and him leaving the trash out on a weekend etc, but Kenny hadn't known all these rules prior. gabi worked so hard to get in contact with them and resolve the situation while ON vacation only for them to discount her efforts. they'd also watch the vlogs religiously (like c'mon you are a fan) and were able to see into her personal life+the apartment and it just wasn't a good situation cause they would bring up things from the vlogs and try to catch her doing something bad in the apartment (though she never was) so gabi had to be very cautious when filming cause she knew they would be watching. they also complained about minor things that really had no evidence to back up on and were just things to call her out on JUST to have a "reason" to evict her. on the bright side a weight will be taken off gabi when she moves out and she will be happier without having to constantly worry about this. I feel connected to this bc my mom got evicted out of her apartment for things that she couldn't control/and or weren't her fault (similar to gabi's situation) so excuse me if I got heated but the landlord reminded me of my moms and she was a real bitch. sorry if that was long and if it'd be quicker if you watched the video lol

I just stumbled upon this by chance but..."Gabi needs to find another place to live" is not, NOT a legal eviction notice. Josephine may in fact be hoping you think it is so that she doesn't have to do it legally (as in follow the law regarding justification, notification and time allowance) but the fact remains that it is simply HER OPINION. I understand that you would prefer to just walk away and let her get away with forcing you out; because that is exactly what she has done but I implore you to rethink this and at the very least make her do it legally ...for the sake of others who may have to deal with her in the future. Please Gabi, listen to your friends and family...fight it. Not necessarily to win but to remind Josephine that there are consequences for her behavior. Best of luck to you.

Invest in buying a house!! I just moved to a house this year after living in an apartment for a year and let me tell you even if you don't think you need a whole house just for you DO IT! Packages are delivered right to your door, no annoying landlords or management, anyone you want can live with you, there is so much more freedom and so much less stress! It is a great investment too down the road!
