When you said that bit about your body sending you signals, and you ignoring those signals felt like you were betraying you body - I FELT that. It reminded me of that Nietzsche quote: "There's more wisdom in your body than your deepest philosophies." You have that look of wonder and curiosity in your eyes, but also seem very compassionate. Don't ever let that sparkle go away and create those boundaries when needed - now that you don't have to use your dietary restrictions (or lack thereof) as a scapegoat anymore. Thanks for sharing your journey - I very much relate to it, having developed orthorexia as a result of subscribing to the vegan ideology. And like you, much of it was to interface with trauma(s).

Didn't listen to my body and as a result I sped up my Hashimotos, develop Raynaud's disease, developed SIBO and my anxiety spiralled into depression. I did the raw thing for the first year then switched to whole foods & supplements correctly but yeah it still just didn't sit right. But yeah I can absolutely relate to the culty vibes. Just an FYI, it might be better to have called yourself plant-based over vegan. By definition, veganism is a type of ethical philosophy that you don’t generally retract after adopting unless you decide you no longer agree with that standard of animal ethics and rights. I would suggest that if that’s the case you might want to question whether your motivations and intent was ever sincere in the first place.
