Sorry I'm just here by accident. But I'm a 2nd year PhD student and jobs market is really not something I considered when planning for my studies. I'm just consumed by passion. And I experienced a call. I think I was born to be a researcher and writing my statement of interest was relatively easy for me. I think guts feelings are crucial.

As someone studying art history, getting my bachelors in a crazy time, your videos have really helped guide me. I’ve always been afraid of the reality of the wages etc. but I follow my heart in my love for art and it’s history!

Very sage review for all of us to consider. I received a PhD in Organization and Management from a for profit university taking 4 years. I was as able to pay for that education employing “pay as you go”, employee reimbursement and had the ability to pay off any loans within one year of graduation. I agree that the costs incurred from a seven-year source of study and research is generally not economically beneficial. Enjoy your next phase 😀

A degree in Egyptology sounds pretty cool. I was attracted to Anthropology because I like Ancient Egyptian art and architecture. :)
