2020 JET. I have been waiting to get in for about two years. I wouldn't hold my breathe because they keep closing. Make sure you have a plan because this can be WAY longer than a few months. It's the sad truth. They always say it'd a few months, that's just because they don't want to lose students and workers but, they don't disclose the reality of how long it truly will take.

I'm well aware. At this point I'm just hoping for a miracle to happen tbh, but I do have a plan, even if this takes another 1-2 years thankfully. It sucks though because there are so many people who literally have to put their lives on hold for this!!

Omicron is everywhere at this point. Also I wouldn't go to Japan for vacation, but to study abroad!

Ouch. Atleast you can see it a bit that way: You got be abroad and you will be in your home country for one last time before that goal PLUS have more time to prepare yourself even better. In all events or things or actions, there are never just Advantages or just disadvantages. Time is tbh very precious and many people don't have much of it or maybe not even a little bit of that. One needs to exclude the time for organizational stuff like yeah, planning, travelling and working, however, there still would be some time left for you. :D Edit: What I heard is, that this Covid-version is much more dangerous at the spreading aspect, nevertheless, the severity isn't as horrible as with Delta. Maybe one could bring up some hope from that for an end of the pandemic.

I feel exactly that way! Although it sucks that Japan is being pushed out even more, I'm grateful that I'm in a position where I don't consider the time spent in my home country "wasted". I'm also super hopeful that omicron will signal the end of this global crisis, although covid will never fully go away. Fingers crossed!
