Today's video is a response to yesterday's video where I talked about all the good things the US has to offer.
But having that in mind, I'd still not relocate to the US. Why? My reasons may seem obvious to some, and not so obvious to others.
Today I'll be talking about why I'm not moving to America, and what I consider are the best options, at least for myself.
Who are we and what do we do?

US and Canada were competitive 30 years ago, right now these two countries are just another states out of 200 we have in the world. Moreover, US and Canada produce nothing except bubbles. I bet big on the UAE in the next 10 years despite some issues this country have.

Just get a US credit card and keep flying back and forth between Canada. You will collect enough points for a nice vacation.

I agree with CF_1959, it depends on your life situation. As a young, healty business guy you can go anywhere if it pays well. I even saw an American contractor guy living in a container in Afghanistan for 4 years in order to make money. As you get older and not so healthy anymore, environment including good health care becomes much more important. As well as the political/social one. For me personally all muslim countries are of zero interest, as well as under-developed countries with poor health care, regardless of how low the taxes are.

Absolutely, I'm an European living in the US, and the US has a lot of strengths, depending on your personal circumstance, like age, education and so on, but I do want to eventually go back to Europe, and even though I recognize that it all depends on the individual person, one thing I always find weird is how so many living abroad type of services always advertise third world countries for westerners to move to. Sure, you might have lower taxes, but the culture and everything else is so different. Are slightly lower taxes really worth it? Like you, i have zero interest in ever moving to a muslim country, an asian country, or a south american country. Yes, I know how bad western countries are, how expensive, how this and that, it's all true, but I still find they offer things those other options don't.

I agree with this 100%. Before you needed to be in America to make American money. Now everything is becoming digital so you can make American money anywhere in the world. In addition, you can use the strength of those American dollars to secure a higher quality of life abroad

I never understand these people who complain about America. Just leave or don't come here. I worked in an Asian country for 10years and another country before that. I didn't like the situation in each and saw no real future in those countries so I moved to America. Complaining does nothing. Action speaks louder than words

Try out monterrey or merida in Mexico. Its very easy to get residency permit there.

One of the reasons I would move to build a company there is mainly due to availability of talent. Europe sucks in this regard, SE Asia is good but language is still an issue unless you’re in Singapore. India is another good place for hiring but it’s unlivable. That being said one could build a business and set it up there, even get an E2. That doesn’t mean you have to move or live there full time. Depends on individual circumstances and the type of business you’re trying to build. I love Dubai and if they bring out PR that might change the game for them.

What's the issue with the talent in Europe?

@@OffshoreCitizen it’s very easy to find technical talent in the United States. Most high quality engineers often move to the states because the pay there is much better due to all the big tech companies being located there. I used to have a team in Ukraine which was apparently solid. Then crimea happened and they left and shifted elsewhere. I would say Tel Aviv is another place with lots of engineering talent, then india. It would be interesting to see where Russian techies would relocate to (brain drain). That might be an amazing place to build a company.

Regulations in the west ontop of high taxes. Means it becomes almost impossible to make money.

@@OffshoreCitizen I am not an economist. But I have studied economics. I am just repeating what all economists already know but sometimes deny. The moment you get rid of a lot of regulations. It becomes easier to do things. That means things start to move in all directions. If you then also lower taxes a bit that means everyone has more motivation. Lower taxes people have more money in their pockets to spend and buy and that means the economy booms and more is sold so more needs to be produced. If you make it impossible for people to make money then people quit and go to sleep . They say might as well enjoy the wife and kids then work hard. For what if the tax man takes it all.

The US and the EU are now really the same place. I actually wonder why the US and the EU (and Canada) do not create a unified government since they are so similar. Regarding your video yesterday on positive points of the US, as a 69 y.o., healthcare is the only advantage meaningful to me. Regarding your video on the demise of nation-states. I think you are off base on this one. People who live in the same geographically defined area must have the same government. Is there going to be a mass migration of people throughout the world so that like minded people can live together? I don't see it. It would be nice if current geographic boundaries were eliminated and new ones drawn according to values, i.e. big government vs small.

Seems to be a very anglocentric view. Europe is a place with more than 35 very different languages. After Brexit English is a non- language in the EU. Europe has three major religions with a very different culture around: catholicisme, orthodoxy and protestantisme. The Angelo-countries are only protestant with a similar culture. Which daily culture should be mainstream with the common gouvernement? Yougoslavia a couple of years shows what happened if you melt different cultures by force. More questions than answers!

why do you say US and EU are the same place? I am from Uk, and my partner from US. I see that our system is very different to US. for example, we have completely free healthcare, we dont have to pay tax back to UK, if we dont live in the UK, USA passport holders must file tax even live abroad . Not even going to mention the amazing care in the netherland, denmark and Germany . and the food quality is another level too, I came from London, our groceries is half price of American , even compare to small town in American. if you look the same food product in the uk and USA, USA is full of chemical etc is complete banned in the EU.

You would be better off looking towards the North coast like New Alamein. I believe as a foreigner you don't get full property rights on the Red Sea so that's by Sinai. I may be mistaken but in 2019 when I looked at Egyptian real estate that was definitely the case then Otherwise definitely there is lots of potential in Egyptian real estate.Massive population so housing is a constant need and soon Egypt may be selling gas to Europe. Security is good lots of check points even in entering hotel lobbys and the malls but I felt very safe. I lived in Maadi Cairo for a few months I had no problems. It's not Dubai by any means. Streets are filthy and traffic a nightmare but their malls like Festival City, City Stars and Mall of Egypt made me very happy during my stay😀.

@@nicolet2165 Well, there are constant/ongoing changes since the Egyptians took to the streets in January 2011 successfully overthrowing the president/government. I think another round is brewing because of horrendous civil rights violations by the government/military officers🤷‍♂️

Bermuda has a lot going on for a small island. But even if you are running an IBC with 0% tax you have either a very high rent or house tax and everything from food, to services, to goods are heavily taxes. So you better be making $500k plus per year for it to make sense. It is also very close to NYC.

I live in Bermuda. I plan on moving to Uk and take advantage of our dual citizenship- and apply for non dom.

First of all I need to travel. I haven’t been to Europe or Asia. So my perspective is lacking. But I’m torn on the thought process of people like you, who think globalization is not only here to stay but will also expand. Then I hear arguments from people like Peter Zeihan who make interesting points in the opposite direction. So I’m left thinking that America might not be a nation on the rise and am worried about our political situation and the fall of our institutions. But am also reassured by how well positioned America is concerning resources. Long story short, I dunno man lol. Also on a personal level, I haven’t found a place that offers a particular lifestyle that I want with regards to climate, geography and taxes. Not sure how to put it all together. I suppose that’s where Michael’s expertise comes in 😄

I'm way older than you are (62), and MY reason for considering moving from the U.S. would be a better place to retire. I'm not interested in "business advantages" at this point in my life. I've lived in the U.S. all my life, and I've lived through the good and not-so-good times here. It's extremely disheartening watching the moral decay and decline of family values in this country. With low-life Democrats running this country, inflation is highest since the 1970's, crime is out of control, as Democrats refuse to incarcerate criminals, illegal immigration is the highest it's ever been and Democrats do this intentionally. Housing prices are to the point of being un-affordable to many people. Even the cost of goods and groceries are much higher here, than other countries.- Yes, the U.S. is still a decent country, but the quality of life is rapidly deteriorating.

I believe you only need to look at the founding of America with the original 13 colonies to see the path of America. The best and brightest left England and oppressive taxation for better opportunities in America. Where I live in Texas, you already have the migration occurring where Tesla, Oracle, Musk, Joe Rogan, etc have left the Woke state of California which is running itself into the ground with anti business culture and taxation. The first wave has been migration from California, Illinois, New York to 0% income tax states like Texas, Nevada, and Florida. The 2nd wave will be the migration from Texas, Nevada, Florida, Washington, etc. to UAE, Bulgaria, SE Asia,etc. I believe the hardest part is for Americans to raise their COMFORT level and mindset to leaving.

Certainly a young, motivated entrepreneur in the crypto space should be looking globally for a place to set up his company. I think that the crypto regulations in the US will be OK, but not the best; certainly if Gary Gensler gets his way, crypto regs in the US will be mediocre.... from the standpoint of both users and entrepreneurs.
