Why can't people accept that there is the choice out there to be single. I'm single because I choose, not single because I can't get a boyfriend (Ok, I'm actually single for two reasons then....). The idea of not being single freaks me out. Commitment- I think that's the monster that's been hiding under my bed, and it's scary as all get out. THAT, and I sleep/cuddle with an animal every night, what more could I need.... by that I mean my cat, and nothing more.

Honestly there are so many pros and cons to being either single or in a relationship. I'm currently in a 4 year one but I'm not saying being in a relationship is the be all end all. I've been in this relationship now for over 8 years. We have fought and fight about anything from who did the dishes last, what to buy for groceries, all the way to more serious stuff....but you know....as much as you want to maim that person your fighting with at that moment...it doesn't last long and we have made it a point to make up and both say we are sorry even if the other didn't start it. We also have an 8 year old daughter together! We can be in the same room or out going for a walk with maybe saying 5 words the whole day and still feel loved and connected...not everything has to be filled into the silence. hahahaha....relationships are always going to have ups and downs, just make sure you make it a point to tell that loved one how much they mean to you...and if you ARE going to argue, make sure it's for a just cause and not because your just looking for a fight..there is "venting" but that isn't the same thing...my boyfriend and i have a day out of the week were we will "complain" about what that other person did...or what bothered us...and the other person cannot say a THING until that person has stopped venting...weird i know...but it helps us both understand what is bothering us...or maybe something we didn't know that we were doing that might have hurt the others feelings and helps us resolve the issue/s....(you know those movie moments the main character does something stupid to the person they love and all they have to do is that one thing to rectify it..but they don't see it and the whole time your yelling at your screen at them, telling them how clueless they are-?) relationships can feel like that...but it doesn't have to be so complicated. PRIDE is a BIG issue i feel when it comes to wanting to "win" or get the last word...just let it go....let go of any pride that you may have when it comes to arguments.....they are usually about stupid things in any case and not worth the happy, loving moments you could be sharing together instead. NEVER go to bed angry ((ever)) your whole body and mind will thank you for it. On another note...dinner and presents are all fine and dandy but truthfully...the things you do together...having breakfast, saying goodbye before work, saying hello and i've missed you when they come home is so much more important in the long run...if its all about gifts, thats not what i would call a meaningful one. We don't really celebrate "hey we have made it this long" or make a big deal on Valentines day...sure something small, being alone together and such...but we make an effort to show each other ALL throughout the day what we mean to each other, how having each other in our lives has had such a positive impact. Any who i could go on but i'll have to start naming chapters if i do and it's already 1:23 AM here...hahaha enjoy life and dont think love is this mythical beast that you won't ever or can't understand, everyone has the ability to experience it, it's how you share, show and relish in it that matters most... . my advice is honestly just be yourself because if you do get into a serious relationship shes gonna end up seeing the real you eventually plus you don't wanna act fake all the time your around her (it gets tiring). if you go more places and make yourself more open you will most likely run into a nice girl for you,like out to eat with friends, getting frozen yogurt, the mall, festivals, board walk, the beach, concerts, or even clubbing if your old enough. Nothing wrong being single! I’m single and loving life... nothing wrong with you not meeting the right person! YET! I’m not going to force myself.. I just go with the flow. If he comes around great!!!!! If not great!!!! What can you do?
