Disappointing, disappointing to say the least. How can we progress when we stifle even the littlest effort by citizens to improve their lot. It all comes down to caring. Yes, the well can have a solar powered pump, a couple of elevated water tanks then distributed by gravity to 8 different locations. BLAXIT did similar in Busura Gambia.

The issue is NOT building the clinic building structure. It is what the Government will need to do upon its completion: the STAFFING, DRUGS and SUPPLIES, and MAINTENANCE. If we can find a way to resolve those issues and also provide proof of viability long term, the project will be allowed. I have seen our inability to follow through; thereby resulting to abandoned buildings due to poor planning. Let's speak answers and solutions all the way through. Good job Maya.

The bathroom situation. This is undoubtedly a sensitive issue. Your wonderful hostess, Woven explained how this is done in the village. In line with trying to address the health needs of the village, sanitation is a major part of the equation. Could you find a humble way and introduce pit latrines? These need not be expensive and I am sure there are many designs to choose from. This will go a long way in addressing one possible source of health challenge. Human waste when buried very near the surface can easily contaminate the vegetables and water with ecoli. Madam Woven please please take no offense from this. Wode Maya, you will go very far.

Scanning through the response, it has a part that say “ an outreach point structure can be erected”. I think it will still make a difference because as we heard from Woven, outreach services are done under a tree. It must be hard to deliver these services during rainy seasons and when it’s hot. Don’t Let this response back you off. That structure will still help and once the government is ready to build a full swing clinic in that specific village, they can just build on what is already there. I do not agree with the suggestion that may direct Ohauwanga funds to another village.

Staffing issues should not prevent the building of this clinic. They can ask us for ideas regarding how to tackle staffing problems. " If you're an African, learn to support other Africans", especially in the public health areas. These clinics are really needed.

Would it help if we create a signature campaign where all of us can sign pro or con for the clinic there? At least we will have something in hand to show them. Since it’s not them in need of the facility, they don’t see the urgency. If there can’t allow you to go ahead they should hasten up to do it on their own.
