I can absolutely relate to this. I spent last year filming something every day. A short video a day, 10-60 seconds. By the end of the year, I compiled everything into one big video. Nothing groundbreaking was in that video because most of the time it was my desk, or the same park, same shops. But thanks to those videos, the year 2022 exists in my records. I started this daily habit after realizing that I remembered nothing about 2021. An entire year fell off from my memory, I still can't recall anything from that year. It got lost between 2020 and 2022. So, yes. Make memories. Even if you're broke or don't travel anywhere, make memories. Record your life, take photos and videos, write down your thoughts. Your parents will age, your friends will go separate ways, you will grow and be different. Make memories of your favorite people, places and activities because that is your life. Subscribed to your channel. Love the videos, they look and sound beautiful!

It's more beneficial to train yourself to remember key moments...otherwise you're simply remembering the video of the moment as opposed to the moment itself. Videos will never be able to capture the feeling one receives from memories. The purpose is to actively push yourself to constantly remain entirely present.
@bdinaravideo Жыл бұрын
@@jamk2668 That's a good point. I think memories form when something unusual happens in our life. But sometimes we just go through periods mundane days and weeks that look the same. We go to the same places and do the same things. In that case, it's harder to make any distinguishing memories. What you're saying is right. It's better to remember something rather than record it. But a record can also work as a reminder of something that happened, it can evoke feelings.

that one shot of the dust particles?? idk why it made me feels so nostalgic, better than a movie I love this video so much; that the intentional creation of these media will give us something meaningful to look back on. I made a couple bad vlogs in 2021 and stopped because they weren’t getting any views… and then rediscovered them recently and literally made me tear up. It put me back in that time of my life when I was still living at home, when my childhood dog was still alive, when I would go out on mini adventures by myself. I never realized how meaningful those silly videos would be to me in the future, and this video perfectly encapsulates why everyone should document their life in some aspect or another. Much love!! ❤

I'm starting to do the same, mainly through video. What pushed me to do this was the two cancer diagnoses, alongside turning 30. I'm possibly having a quasi-mid-life crisis and I'm beginning to realise that I'm definitely going to die at some point. Is it this decade? Is it the next? Documenting, like you say, really helps me to be intentional with the time that I have. You articulated this so beautiful in this video. Thank you, I needed it

"Because we do not know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. Yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number, really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four or five times more. Perhaps not even. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless." - Paul Bowles
