Why I'm upgrading my fj60 Landcruiser Alternator to a high output and why maybe you should too!

Why I decided to upgrade my 5.3 ls v8 swapped Toyota fj60 landcruiser alternator to a mechman high output alternator. I have dual electric Spal fans that draw a lot of amperage and the stock alternator was having a hard time keeping up. I use my land cruiser to go overlanding , camping , and on expeditions in remote areas and with the addition of a dual battery system and a soon to be added fridge setup I wanted more power. Wow I see you've done a lot of stuff under that hood. It was good to know about the alternator. I had same problem, my stock alternator wasn't charging the AGM battery at 100% it died in 2 years. I am currently running a voltage booster in a fusebox, but it throws battery warning light.

Nice cruiser man, looking forward to more videos. If you have any heat issues with the wires, I would upgrade to some Oxygen Free Copper wires. They're going to be much more resistant to corrosion and provide you with more stable connections once you start adding high amperage accessories.

Thx man , gonna put some effort into this channel for once, haha love ur setup man!!! As long as that light turns on and there's an inline fuse u should be ok, LEDs are so much lower on power consumption!

hey Gom! heard alot about you from Dodam and Tommy! yeah i dont think its realistic for the alternator to fully charge and maintain the house(deep cycle batt) esp if it's been used on a trip with fridge and accessories.. it needs shore power. do you use a battery charger for it when you are parked at home? saw some of your vids! u are hard core man. i used to have an fjcruiser too, a 2007, it was a fun car.. was fixed up similar to yours too!

@@lonelydriver82 I was using a solarpanel on hood to top off the AGM battery, but since I changed purpose of FJ , I took it out everything, sold RTT heavy drawer trying to lighten it. I weight it, it was around 5600lbs I want to lose about 300lbs. We can talk about this forever, lets do a trip or something with dodam and Irene. lets DM on IG!

I own a Toyota land cruiser bj60 wagon... Everything is standard and now its 39 years old... Just got issue with the electrical output... Should i upgrade the altenator or just upgrade all wiring that connect to the altenator?

I have a fj60 stock and my alternator is kinda crappy now it’s the original one. Would this alternator be a good upgrade from stock??

i've got a v8 swap so i'm running a scan gauge off the obd port in conjunction with speed hut gauges... the speed hut gauges are nice i've found they don't play too nice with the factory sending units especially the factory fuel level sender
