Do you want to be a digital nomad? Why or why not?
@Ed010035 жыл бұрын
hello Dan, i do wanna be a digital nomad to actually know if it's possible to make money with this new trend of life but i got no experience. Would you like training me?

It's funny, I had a similar experience. Digital nomad 2.0 seems to happen to most people - after nomading for a few years they decide they want to stay in one place to focus on their purpose and build their skills. And having that home base where your close peeps are is nice :)

So INSIGHTFUL!!!! Stupid question. What do you do with your home when you're not there. Rent? Caretaker? Keep it empty?

That’s been my goal too. 2-3 home bases. I love having a community. And I love moving around. And I totally get what you mean about the big cities. I’m about to spend 2 weeks working remotely in NYC.

What places would you consider for those 2-3 home bases? :)

@@enfp for me 1 would be in canada/usa in a warm part like vancouver bc or the southern USA. and one in lahore as my wife's family is there and it would allow her to be close to them. but in reality, if the corporate culture moved from 5 day to 3-4 workdays, i would be so much happier. the 5 day workweek doesn't leave much free time for anything.

THIS!! THIS life!! Having only just heard the term "digital nomad" yesterday, with a thunderbolt I KNEW that that is my very near future as a fellow writer & laptop entrepreneur -- with a catch: What about having somewhere in the world to hang my hat? A Goggle search on "digital nomad" this morning, and the first video I decide to watch is titled "Why I Quit Being a Digital Nomad" -- to see what the dark side of this lifestyle might be before foolishly(?) making it my goal. But no! Your video was NOT about the dark side of it at ALL. It answered my immediate question above, and caused me to redefine the term for my goal near-future to now be: "The SETTLED Free Digital Nomad." YOU, Dan, are who I want to grow up to be. I'm now going to devour your website and all of the links that you've provided that accompany this video. Thank you, Dan. I hope that we can communicate soon somehow, and that I may learn much from you. With Gratitude, Mark

yeah the more i realize it, digital nomad lifestyle is not for me. I could possibly develop 2-3 homebases and become independent enough to travel 3months out of the year.

Sounds like a great plan

How do you get to stay in Prague or any schengen area for more than 90 days a time? I am also location-independent and would like to stay in Europe but that 90-day limit thing is stopping me unless I live a digital nomadic life. Please let me know how you do that.

Depends on the country but there are lots of residency options in Europe.

Your plan of having home bases but still doing some travel is my DREAM! I keep saying I'm going to do this but not sure how to execute. Anywho, great video! (INFP here by the way) :D

Yo dude!! I just saw your other videos on ENFP and enjoyed them. Today I woke up in Chiang Mai feeling so lonely. I've lived in 5 countries abroad and visited 12 (and many cities within these countries). I remember from your enfp videos mentioning Prague and Costa Rica so when you said it here I was like wait... Do I know this guy haha. I'm only 3 minutes into the video but I just had to say that it's so cool to meet another enfp digital nomad. I am considering making a home base somewhere in the USA or even immigrating to Bulgaria where I spent most of my time and have a great social circle. I am simply so tired of making new friends and living out of a suitcase. And it's hard x growing a business in the road... Better to settle into a routine and be free. Anyways, I'm gonna finish the video now. Very enfp thing of me to comment only 3 minutes in. I just got so happy you're an enfp and understand it and you're also a digital nomad... Woohoooo

Glad you did! If you want my vote, I'd say Bulgaria...and not just for the 10% tax rate :) If you like it there, it's a great way to have some novelty and variety, and keep an interesting life while getting your stability and social needs met by building a real community there. As for winters...I'll see you for a beer in the Canary Islands!

Very inspiring! I'm 21 years old now and i also want to travel the world and see many diverse places and cities and live there for a while, similar to you. But I don't want to do it alone but on the other hand i din't find a travel companion since most of my friends are working or just want to stay here..Now i think to finish my educationnext year and after that working to save money, but I don't know..Do you have any tips on how to get started on traveling? There are so many things that need to be planned before one can start (but I'm also an ENFP so planning isn't my greatest strengh). I also don't know if I'm the person who can just work for oneself without a boss,..I guess i have to figure a few things out for me before i can start haha

Dan, I swear we are on the same wave length, man. I want to live in Prague, you're living in Prague. I want two home bases, you want two home bases, and you want your home base to possibly be in the Canary Islands. I want my second home base to be in Canary Islands (or Malta). This is getting weird, man. Haha. Love you, and your channel. Keep the videos coming!
