Not worth the time or health hit anymore. Seeing people getting promoted that cant even do basic tasks is beyond disheartening.

I hear ya brother, I once had Freedom not so much financial but a family business and the freedom to be a working musician in Southern California I saw some great times. When the lock downs hit all was lost. Amazon saved me. And for that I’m thankful. I’ve learned enough that I can work all over the building. Sort flow pack singles dock problem solve pick….and I like it like that. Don’t want advancement more responsibility. My family business is coming back around so I do both. And music will always be with me. I will perform again one day. I never let money run my life I look at long hours as insulting it breeds contempt not production. Screw Prime Peak BS. I use to kill myself also but after 20 months of watching people half my age taking breaks, playing with their phones, flirting. I gave up well I tried to I still end up working fast at a decent rate lol… there is a difference between working frantically and just killing it looking almost effortless I guess I got there. Thanks for everything you post I enjoy it. 🤘🏻🎸🎶

My district manager laughed when I became his assistant manager, when we first went into a conference meeting, he always told me don’t get into the RAT Race. Jesus Christ the smoke and daggers were just awful but it really reinforced my ideal to find that purpose of bettering myself. Pretty much learned how to be a poker faced person and keeping talks short with other management folks because literally anything you say may be used to ruin you lol.

I've seen measurement manipulation in my time at Amazon. I saw it in fast food too when people would drive laps to lower the average drive through time. Also, it sounds like you're good at motivating a crew. You'd get the full benefit if you owned the business you were running . . .

I definitely get what you mean, I think a lot of that definitely just depends on the environment and the kind of job that your working with. When I worked at amazon over in LGB3 I would see and notice a lot of people end up trying to climb the ladder get completely overlooked for the new favorite employee that's only been their for a couple of months. My time there I had a really cool manager that legitimately wanted to see me leave / elevate myself to a position that suited my skillset a lot better so he would allow me to literally arrive late while I would go over and talk with the data analyst and the programming analyst that were there during the time. I'm not a person that really likes to play the political game at the expense of who I am, so I just really didn't like my time at amazon. At my current employer now I genuinely don't experience any of the typical theatre that you'd expect to experience while working at a job. In the 2 years I've worked at my job I've increase my starting base salary by nearly double from 60k over to 100k without having to actually asked for a raise or a promotion for myself one time. I recently got into talks with my current manager to go down the rabbit hole of a promotion due to the fact that I was doing way more than someone would be doing at my current level of employment. The fantastic thing about working in software development is that for the skillset and years I have there have and always will be a surplus of job opportunities that I can pursue that will compensate me very handsomely if I ever feel as though my skillet is not being valued at my current job. I think generally that if you can find work that you enjoy that pays you more than well enough while also has complete transparency of the finances, team decisions, ownership of when they messed up, and hands you opportunities to be able to grow your skillset to climb or go to whatever place you want to go is ideally the best kind of place to work. I think the most dangerous thing at least I end up seeing work wise that I even see why my current job is that it can feel cultish in the sense that these jobs will try to much to promote company culture in all of the ways that don't actually help employees.

Amazon is different I think you can move up if your black they are very diverse way better than others companies but when you start making moves for corp you need to really at really proper bc they will make things harder nothing bad but just like having dreads I feel like they judge never been a big problem bc I always reached where I wanted to go but it does feels like you have to prove yourself more and it waste a couple of months to even years . But just the way you carry yourself ik they like you and I do feel every year shits is getting better but it just sucks working your ass off and no one really notice every company says certain things so they can save there asses from lawsuits they really don’t care about you even mangers get back doored by corp for dumb things such as labor etc I just saying if this is really worth?

That’s funny you say that, I’m actually gonna touch on this topic pretty soon. And your 💯 % right I do for the most part feel you have to prove yourself as well but can’t lie hands down I think they do support growth for brown aka “black” ppl which is dope. And facts I think the big question it comes down to….is it worth it. May be different for everyone. No matter what let’s keep levelin up!

People, get this in your head! Work, but do not work hard. ONLY work hard if there is a GUARANTEED reward. About shadiness! Our society is built by psychopaths for psychopaths. Be ready to fight! If you don’t get it, sorry the truth does not come to you. However, the lies come to you. BE WARNED! Do not help people that do not, at least, try to stand up for themselves. If they are too weak to take a stand on their own, they will most likely betray you under pressure. You only help someone when you are absolutely sure the person you are assisting gets the “Big Picture” and understands who the true enemy is. Once a person is strong enough to see the “Big Picture”, if things go wrong they won’t flip on you because they understand that you tried your best to help them within the limits of your power. Last but not least and many of you will hate me for this. Be absolutely careful with people who believe in God to save them. They are the most naive and self deluded human beings on the planet. They will stab you or anyone to get into the eternal lifeboat. Weak people only care about justice because is convenient to them. Only the strong can display justice, as they use their strength. Do not deny the existence of higher powers. Just don’t give a damn about them. Question everything, ask why! The little progress done in our societies we ow it to ourselves as mortals and the mortals before us. Many who gave their lives for a future they knew would never see! History is on the move and Fate getting ready to test our mantle. Strength and Honor! Good Luck Strangers!

Once you get into the PA position it either completely turns you off to being a salaried leader, or you jump straight into the Amazon Kool-Aid pool. Seen plenty of people (including me) come in with the mindset of becoming an L4, 5, 6+, then once they get in the mix their mind completely changes

In Chinese Culture, we have a term called 躺平 in company culture right now. It means doesn’t matter how hard and how serious you working, there is no promotion/ pay increases instead of long hour and low pay. People start to realize that and stay their work style bare minimum to get paid 😿 I guess it’s happening everywhere now. The Great Recession

Here's big clue to when somethings wrong in a company's culture. "Young people not even 20 yrs old who never had a job before with no people skills given leadership opportunities ahead of people 30,40,50 yrs old with years of job experience and college. I saw it when I walked in the door 5 years ago. All the young 20 somethings that moved ahead are long gone. It's a revolving door young naive in young naive out.

Bro you almost made me cry lol, I had been working for Amazon for 5 years. Then they did the pay raise bump based on tenancy. Then I transferred to a new warehouse and applied to PA. And got it however my pay only increased by 50cents. Many things have happen in addition with a young manager who I have to baby sit. And the culture I created was amazing as you say. However yes the owning development is a killer. It killed my drive and as the saying goes “pats in the back don’t pay bill” is true to the PA position. When u you have a taper or waterspider that doesn’t do nothing for the shift win almost the same amount without the stress and mental health depletion.

My advise for you youngster let somebody paid for My schooling get all Knowledge degrees etc from amazon you Knowles what I mean. Then you can choose what you want to do in life get confortable and earned what you want. Nowadays is not as easy as most think but with higher education that somebody else paid. Well its a advantage yes stiill working for them but taking advantage of education that you not psying. You Know like student loan etc etc. I would look at it that way.

Everything you are talking about is absolutely how I feel, recently become a T3 and have been in the seasonal PA position for about 3 months now. I've been going hard 110% Since my first working for amazon as well and now that I am a T3 I am starting to realize that I'm trying waaayyyy too hard to not even get the recognition I feel I deserve. Then once I found out what I was going to be getting paid I was very disappointed and upset because I was under the assumption it was going to be more. Not to even mention how I was told to basically kick back so they can manipulate their numbers throughout the departments in the building.🥺

Felt like you weren't getting compensated for the value you provide, 2 other individuals got promoted off your back, 3 getting promoted means becoming someone your not deep down. That's just the nature of the beast, everyone has their own way of dealing with it. Don't let it ever break your spirit, your principles. Keeping doing you just let karma deal with the rest, your time will come. Also stopping thinking so much about the end game. The real ride is getting to the end. Amazon is a dream job at first, but after a couple years you realize that you burned yourself out for nothing.

It definitely feel like a dream job at first lol, I cant lie thru all the shenanigans I still think it’s way better than most job and appreciate it 💯 percent it helped changed my life. If I were you I would try to capitalize off that ot save up and try to make something happen with it.

Hey S. B. - I interviewed for a PA spot last month but did not get inclined, it was a blessing that I didn’t get inclined. I then applied for a T3 spot at Non-Inventory and got the job last week. Much better environment at N-I, I don’t have to supervise like 20-30 people, our small five people team is a better place for peace and pleasure.

@@jsegura525 overall you honestly did that right thing. Yes applied for an L3 spot, but you played up to your strengths where do I want to help operations like a PA or you don’t and went for another position like Non Inventory which is a massive support group and rely on each other then dealing with a group of AA’s. Congrats on getting the job and kick ass in Non Inventory

For a really tricky subject like what you are attempting to describe, I would recommend a script beforehand. I know, you bust out all your videos straight off the cuff, and it's awesome, but you're being so careful in this video you're not making much sense.

When you get to a certain step on the ladder, you have to be very self-centered and totally cutthroat to advance. If you think the guy above you wants to see you succeed and pass him, it aint gonna happen. You'd have to change your entire personality to get to the higher rungs on the corporate ladder.

Drew…sad to say.. I’m really starting to believe that that’s a 💯 percent fact. But I know there’s hope I’ve personally seen at least 1 out of the many thats I’ve seen…thats super genuine but, that’s about it. Crazy.

Sometimes we’ll… 90 percent of the time your always going to have to put the work in before seeing the result but there are times when you know there’re playing the game and there’s nothing coming from all the extra. I think the skill is knowing how to tell.
