As Sabbath-keeping Christians, we never understood the fascination with Halloween. Given the overt satanic imagery, it did not seem to be innocuous. We agree with you.

I don't celebrate Halloween because it's not what we think it is. I don't judge those who celebrate, including my grandchildren, because they don't know. They just want to have fun. On earth, we are here to experience both the light and the darkness. When we are spirituality ready, we probably will understand that we are here to balance the light and the darkness. Not to judge and to hate the opposite because we can't have light without the darkness here on earth. We are here to bring love, happiness, and joy, but without the opposite, how can we grow. We should always be grateful for trying times because most of us understand that it makes us stronger and we are able to move forward on our mission.

Suggestion for your next vacation, go through the Bridger Tetons, Grand Tetons and then through Yellowstone. Just be careful and read the signs don't get too close to the animals. (We watched a man get arrested for attempting to get up close to an elk to take a picture.) Outstanding grandeur with many photo opportunities. My Son and I camped in the Bridger Tetons and in Yellowstone when He was ten. " Great Memories "

My daughter is a 911 supervisor in Vail, CO. We live in California and have taken the train to go visit her. It had just snowed and you could just see the tops of the train tracks. The trees were loaded with snow and it was absolutely beautiful! But I did get altitude sickness from not drinking enough water. Glad you were finally able to visit.

🍁 Thanks for your video of your family’s getaway. One year we had a group of seminary/missionary students from Africa visiting us in Wisconsin. They couldn’t understand why people celebrate Halloween. They could not wrap their minds around why you would spend money to decorate your yard with the things they were seeing. I know a lot of families who don’t celebrate Halloween. And if they do for trick or treat their children choose a Saint or a character of good moral non-gory standing to dress up as. They decorate for Fall/Autumn and not Halloween. Thanks for sharing your lovely family.

I took my kids to Chuck E Cheese! One year I got tired of picking up the wrappers in the living room and kids rooms. Rules were to only eat Halloween candy in the kitchen. Well, every year rules kept on changing. So a friend and I were talking and said let's try Chucky E. Cheese and just let the kids go trick or treating in the neighborhood and our families home. It was great! Nobody was there but us!!! The manager let us play for free as long as we bought pizza and drinks! We did it for the next 8 years.

I don’t do Halloween either it’s too expensive in my neighborhood because u can pass out six or seven bags of candy in no time at all and I don’t believe in celebrating this at all. We love to camp and in fact we were in your area this past August. I’d love to come back your way again. We are backyard gardeners and we produced 250 pounds of potatoes one year and we are able to grow a lot of what we eat.

When my church decided to have children in Halloween costumes up on the altar one year a long time ago, I decided enough was enough. The kid in the vampire costumer really got me. I was not going to support Halloween in my Godly life. Our church has always celebrated All Saints Day and All Souls Day and I decided to celebrate these significate days that occur around Halloween. We celebrate by praying for all the saints and all the souls, including family members who have passed away instead.

@sharonknorr1106

It actually isn't, that is a construct. Most pagans look at it as the end of the year, the last harvest and a time to hunker down to prepare for winter. In our family, we concentrate on using those days to remember and celebrate our ancestors, which is also a common theme not just for Christians as well as pagans. In Mexico they celebrate the Day of the Dead for 2 days, or sometimes a little earlier. It is also called "All Soul's Day" a later Christian construct that folds in the original Aztec beliefs. There is dressing up and yes, the sugar skulls, but it is really about remembering with families coming together with feasting and celebration, and some sadness, yes. So just a little background and letting you know, it is not really supposed to be an evil or fearful time and has nothing to do with the devil, at least not for the great majority of folks who celebrate it, pagan or Christian or whatever.

@@sharonknorr1106 - I suggest you do some research on it's origins.
@sharonknorr1106
@sharonknorr1106 3 ай бұрын
@@annwithaplan9766 Actually, I have, that's why I posted. It originated, they think, as Samhain. a pagan sabbat as a time when the veil between the living and the dead was the thinnest. The wearing costumes thing was about scaring an spirits away that you didn't want around - it had nothing to do with devil worship or anything like that. It was also the last harvest festival of the year. So the being close to the dead thing was also seen in other traditions, such as the Day of the Dead and also the Christian "All Saints Day" celebrated on Nov. 1st, a time to honor all the saints followed by "All Souls Day" to remember those who have passed, but not yet reached heaven (Catholic tradition). The night before All Saints Day was called "All Hallows Eve" and became Halloween. As with so many traditions, different countries, cultures and religions put their own spin on things. This is similar to how Yule became intertwined with Christmas, again with pagan traditions being blended into the Christian holiday. Not saying anyone should celebrate Halloween if they don't want to, just trying to pass along information that might be useful or interesting to those trying to establish their own traditions to coincide with established holidays.

After opening up a rabbit hole of research in 2021, I stopped celebrating Halloween, Christmas and Easter. My family thinks I've gone nuts. I believe celebrating the Feasts is MUCH more Biblically sound, so I often watch Messianic Jewish Rabbi services because sadly, Protestant churches barely mention them.
