I started accepting compliments a year or two ago, the reason I started accepting them, was because I often found myself on the receiving end of people rejecting my compliments, and it really annoyed me.. I don't give out compliments if I don't mean them, so to have them rejected made me realize how annoying I was by not accepting compliments given to me.

Not diverting compliments is so important! If someone gives you a compliment, they mean it, so if you deflect it, it makes them feel bad about themselves too. Accepting compliments makes everyone feel good!
@anikaabdullah88734 жыл бұрын
Gosh,that 2nd point is so important. Worst is when I myself would criticise myself and refuse to accept the compliments,like I'm the worst judge of myself.But I've talked to the people I love,friends,mum and all,and you know,you are always so much more than you give yourself credit for.Let those compliments sink in and compliment yourself too!

Not paying yourself a compliment! Girl I feel this so much. I think it is very detrimental to our health and often times leads to confidence issues as well as judgmental attitudes towards those who do accept the compliments without deflecting which can cause so much unwanted tension and stress in relationships friends, coworkers, relatives. You are a true inspiration☺ and I also know where you're coming from. I've been an athlete since the age of 5..that is doing ballet and contemporary dancing I was also a long distance athlete, a sprinter and running hurdles. In my athletic world I've always been my own worst enemy as I was constantly in competition with myself and I never failed in anything if I put my heart and soul into it....when I reached my 20's I became a bodybuilder and did a few competitions I also competed in my 1st and last Powerlifting competition and came first in my category. I put so much pressure on myself when it comes to dieting and exercise. I'm now 52 years old and I still haven't changed....still tracking calories as well as training routines. My physique at my age I think is pretty good but MAN do us woman battle to just loose 5kg..who of you out there agrees with me....Menopause is a bitch...I just want your point of view Natacha and your expertise in this field as all of your info is science based which I love...OK here goes: I weigh 65 kg and I'm 5ft 1 inches...I'm pretty active....I do a 45min run in the afternoon to burn my calories I've consumed during the morning and then a 45 min GVT at night....that's an absolute killer...from your science based point of view I burn about 198cal for a 45 min run and 450 calories for my GVT workout.....why is this! Surely you burn more calories running? My home chores I burn around 1 200 calories ....that's cleaning for like 5 hours straight...🙈I use MyFitnessPal app to calculate my calories in and calories out According to the app I have to consume 1500 calories per day I only consume around 800/1000 calories and my training adds up to 1900/2030 so I'm always in a calorie deficit but I'm really struggling to loose my last 4kg's.please I need your expertise on this....another thing that boggles my mind with the app I'm using...if I set it to MapMyWalk I loose fewer calories than if I set it to MapMyFitness....so I just use the latter for all my workouts...sorry this is a mouthful but you're the one I look up to and trust that you will be able to advise me....I truly love your energy☺💜
