Plus he doesn't like talking about games he has played, because it's hard to separate it from Digibro, the smart anime guy.

Happy to hear this from you. Even though i played a lot of games growing up I rather be someone who just wants to share my love of video games and my favorite genre which is fighting games. I want to review games some day and have fun with it and be positive with it along with discussing the games flaws

Your best way to speak about games non-authoritatively is to have series and videos that revolve around your personal history or experience with a game. Kind of like your "Game Boys" series. You'd have to stay on topic with the specific game, but a personal conversation in podcast format would probably work. I'd watch it at least.

kYle I care about authority. I appreciate it when someone is able to elegantly describe a show and explain it's value to the medium as a whole while being fairly accurate. Such videos, such as a good portion of the stuff Digibro makes, are very informative and offer a detailed yet broad view. The dangers of watching a non-authority is that you're prone to either listening to misinformation or watching content that tells you absolutely nothing about the show beyond it's very surface level elements.
@BlueEye0966 жыл бұрын
I think it's very understandable. Watching close to every anime that comes out each season like you do takes up enough time so that you'll most likely only be able to have time to play and enjoy a handful of games and the chance of any of them inspiring you to want to write about them is probably very small.
@WeirdStyler6 жыл бұрын
You do know a lot about anime, but I think you fail to take into account how anime and manga are influenced by other kinds of art that you are not as familiar with. In other words; knowing all about anime is not sufficient to always be on point about anime.

*I couldn't disagree more* , and your Bloodborne/Dark Souls video is a proof of that. I understand where you are coming from. You don't wish to talk about video games without industry knowledge and status quo, without relevant history and background about that specific culture and/or off the people/studios involved. The thing is, it's actually good that you don't. Game enthusiasts may know all stuff, but let me tell you, *an outsider perspective is invaluable* . People attach those other stuff, but rarely anyone gives a raw unfiltered analysis of something games related. I remember people were engaged in meaningless conversations on microtransactions and unfinished games, and then out of nowhere you dropped your Bloodborne/DS video, and then finally people start to talk about games again. In fact, you indirectly brought a fantastic perspective on the Soulsborne conversation, even if people wouldn't admit that they were inspired from your video. As a huge games enthusiast, I can tell you we need more good writers and voices for our discourse. And if you aren't influenced by any BS going in the industry and the community, the better.

I think as long as Digi makes it clear its just his perspective and nothing more, it should go fine, he's just wanting a good way of doing that that wouldn't conflict with "lesser fans" of his main channel vids... ...oh wait! :/

Do what you wanna do, man. Ignore the people who want you to post about video games. Btw try not to review games you never actually played yourself. That will keep you out of a lot of trouble.

The actual solution is: be honest. Once you're honest, even if you're wrong, people will understand that you were talkin by your perspectives. Once a guy stumbled into a butterfly and saw a narrative in it's flight and metamorphosis, he didn't reviewed that narrative, he created the narrative through his experience and a good poetic writing. So, c'mon! Just be honest. I assure to you people will see that you're being yourself. Even if they disagree with you. I give you an example: did you understand my commentary? I'm pretty sure you found something out of place, here. And that's because I don't have the best words like your president does. I'm brazillian and I don't have domain of your language. I just wanted to express myself. And I did it. :)

Yeah, there are some people who try to justify their love for a shounen or even just any anime, by saying it is soo deep and subversive compared to other shounen/series even though they just use the Big Three and maybe DBZ as their reference points.
@komikalmew44536 жыл бұрын
i dont see why it has to be a different persona, people can tell that opinions, tastes, etc differ between mediums. if you find something to say about video games then thats when you make a video about it. an entire other channel dedicated is unnecessary more than how hard it would be to create. your entire identity as a content creator doesnt hang in the balance if you have found something to talk about with good points behind it. No one is an "authority" because media is not absolute, i learned that from you
@Kuudere-Kun6 жыл бұрын
By your own Logic, you're not an Authority on Anime you dropped after only 30 seconds, like most of this season.
@fistmakeandfishiro55656 жыл бұрын
The time you talked about hyperlight drifter. I didn't take it as "a reveiw of this game". I instead took it as "what digi liked and disliked about this game". Which was not a reveiw but a personal what I (digibro) thought of this game.
@jazz47786 жыл бұрын
Fistmaker Games Isn't that what a review is, though? So long as you can analyse why you liked and disliked those specific things about the game and present it in an understandable way, that counts as review.
@fistmakeandfishiro55656 жыл бұрын
Jazz Dowswell . No a reveiw in my mind is more an authority piece on a piece of work. What he did is just a what this game means to me, and only me. A review is made more as "what this game is and everything you need to know before you buy it. His video was what the game was for him. Not what the game is for the general consumer. Unless you share the same taste as digi. But I don't so his oppinion on the game does not help me as a consumer. Rather its more as a piece of here's what my fave guy on the internet has to say on a game he played.
@thedanhibiki69606 жыл бұрын
Well sorry, your reasoning is alright in concept, but no sensible person would consider you an "authority" on anything unless they're nine or actually a special ed kid. Watching every anime as a task and a checkmark on a list means literally less than nothing concerning your grasp on the subject, don't be a silly boy

A bit of an odd suggestion, but old fans might be able to better process the idea of your 'video games persona' as a separate entity... if you gave said persona a distinct voice. I mean that literally. Get a friend with a good voice to read your content.
