Why I Regret Buying the Dooney and Bourke Florentine Brenna Satchel

I stopped buying from Mercari & Poshmark because I found that sellers were more inclined to misrepresent the condition of bags. I rarely buy used bags anymore and if I do, I scrutinize the listing. That being said, I got a bag recently that was supposed to be new that looked like a mouse lived in it when I received it. The seller made things right when I contacted him. I feel that sellers are more inclined to fix things without having to escalate on Ebay. I love the Small Brenna style, but I can understand your challenge with it. TFS

You’re right - the base of this bag can make it bulky. I think Dooney made it this way to keep from having a “poopy diaper” sagging bottom. Great concept in theory but they should have reduced the base by an inch and a half. That’s why I bought this silhouette in the mini size. I did pick up a regular sized Brenna and if it is bulky it will be going back right away. TFS!

Hi sweetheart. I’m so sorry this happened. I’ve had a similar experience. I can totally relate. Once you get it in that condition you just can’t get it out your head. I really hate when sellers misrepresent. It really bums you out when you look forward to a bag and get it and it’s not as described in the listing. I totally get what you're saying about not being able to not think the bag is dirty. First impressions last, right? Same thing happened with my Dooney zip zip and my Coach camera bag. I really hate scents on bag, even if it's light. Hopefully you can resell it. Good luck!

I've had this happen with me on the coach rogue with whipstitch. Paid a lot for it because it was one of those rare ones that you never see. Condition was said to be in good condition but when I got the bag it was sooo dirty in the inside. The suede interior had marks all over it and I couldn't get over the perfumey smell that was left on it. I ended up buying a suede brush and vacuuming the bag to make it look nice. I did get the bag to look nice but because I knew how dirty it looked before I just felt like I could not enjoy the bag 🙁 all I would imagine is how it looked before so I eventually sold it

Sorry about the buyer’s remorse. However, you definitely should be able to get $130 easily for that. Great photos with detailed descriptions will keep you safe.

Its annoying that the seller did not disclose any of the flaws and I also would not get these things out of my head. Thats why I am afraid of buying resale but to be honest retail is also not great right now but at least you can return. I didnt understand. You were blocked from poshmark for opening cases? Apparently resale also tries to condition not to complain😳

Yeah, it's definitely annoying, but I'm glad I was able to clean it to get it to clean and usable condition! And, no, Poshmark hasn't blocked me. I was just afraid of them blocking me if I returned too much, which, in hindsight, is a very silly thing to be afraid of since I hardly sell anything on there anymore.

@@MeticulousShopper - I typically just by from I Love Dooney - Dooney's outlet. With the markdown from the Dooney regular price + their regular coupons, I can get a new bag for about the same price as a resale. I know it's a Dooney and can return it without a hassle.

I will have to check out the video. I got a horrible gross bag that I didn’t open in time and we’ll but it was so gross. Dog hair and rips and disfigured

Thats the thing about buying used...you never know what you are going to get, you can only rely on the pictures... but if it was that bad...I would've sent it back. People have different option's on how used they think their piece is.

Hello.I know what you mean I have 2 Dooneys that I don't carry much I find them very aggravating.I like the dooney Buckley bag but it looks heavy and I won't buy it.I have bought some great pre loved bags some of them brand new.tfs.take care😍😊
