Keep up the great content. I have purchased the Australia Quarter Sovereign 2024 Gold Proof Coin for my son’s birthday present to start his collection. Any thought on this coin and potential growth long term Thanks

I think these type of 1 dollar coins you or don't like them. As I put my coins in a folder as you build up a collection then go back through the years of the type of releases. That's when you start to appreciate the different type coins that have been released through the ages. And you are right the value of some of them to down and some go up.

I think it should be noted that the RRP of the 2023 Legacy $1 coin was $15 upon release in March 2023, so they are maintaining their value. Some recent sales have them sold for $20+, even as recently as 10 days ago. The Smith Family coin also had a RRP of $15 upon release and is maintaining value. I think the Cobb & Co. coin, whilst a one-off minting, does represent the theme of Australiana. Also, the maximum mintage figure may not necessarily represent the final mintage figure, so it may end up having less coins minted than the earlier Legacy coin, making it rarer and possibly more collectable. Further, depending on the length of his reign, it's possible that being one of the earlier coins with a King Charles III effigy may influence future values, or if his health declines, among the last. For now, I think it's a bit too soon to tell. Appreciate your thoughts and, as always, great video 😀

Thanks so much for your input. I do hope it doesn’t lose value. The coin itself is a very nice design. I just don’t think many people would be interested in the subject. But I’m happy to be proven wrong 😑 thanks Dan

You won't have a very big coin collection if you only want coins worth more than original cost. $1 were very collectable before coloured $2 came on the scene. I still like them and like the look of the cobb and co coin and have the card and pnc. I collect what i like the look of not expecting to make money as i don't sell them anyway.

Unless it’s got silver or gold in it what’s it really going to be worth when I die ? That’s how I look at it , unless like you said you really like horse carriages 😂 . Good honest review 👍

I look at what similar coins from the past are now worth which is why I didn't buy it. The mintage number is because 7500 will be on PNC 30000 on card or whatever
@DantheCollectingMan2 ай бұрын
Good point, I don’t think the PNC will be very collectible either 🤔

@@DantheCollectingMan 90% of what comes out will never appreciate long term .the best buy this year we’re the 2024 swan pattern silver dollars gold if you were lucky, but the purple poppy $2 coins a silver version as well come out in November so who knows

I actually like this coin - the design, subject matter and packaging IMO are all pretty good. But you are right - it will just get consigned to the “oh I’d forgotten about that one” pile of commemoratives that get pumped out world wide every year. Thanks for showing - I would have definitely missed that one otherwise 👍

I got it as well. I was the same with regards to collectability. Definitely won't have the value like other sets of the same mintage (...bluey 3x pack). Although the coloured 50 cent NAIDOC coin seems to be selling well (it was even before the mint sold out, $40 - $60, eBay scalpers).

My thoughts as well Dan. I like the coin and would love to find it in my change though when I saw the ballot come out taking into account the price as well as the postage for just 1 coin I could not see that much value in it. 🍻

No one forces you to buy them, most genuine collectors buy the coin because they like it so if you don’t like it don’t buy it, just because you can’t flip it for 10x RRP doesn’t meant genuine collectors won’t want it.
