I had a 2019 Instinct and upgraded to a 2021 Instinct. The new geo is very nice! Great video.

Sweet! I came off two previous Rocky Mountains… the old geo always felt like home.. and the update didn’t have the growing pains I was expecting 🤘🏽

Congrats on your new RM. I had a 2018 that was 140mm/140mm. Personally it was a great all rounder trail bike. I sold it because I wanted little less wheelbase length whip.

I had a 2019 BC upgraded to the XO 10-52, etc. and i sold it maybe 8 months ago, i have a line on a 2021 caron 90 for an excellent price and its MINT, Not many carbon 90's around, thats good to know you feel the GEO is improved and also the cables under the BB and hidden now, cool paint job also. My 2019 was that beautiful orange

I think you’ll be pretty happy with the new Geo (nothing against the old geo… I felt at home on it) but it’s a different ride experience. In a good way 🤷🏽

Yeah I think that kashima coating, xtr and carbon fiber is the major key. Just like wearing air Jordans on a ride, you can clear any gap jumps no problem.

wow man still a very nice bike. i was looking at a second hand rocky mountain but that went really quickly. Here in South Africa we dont have a lot of them so i had to settle for a 2012 Specialized Enduro Comp 29. wow i have not seen your vids for a bit and watching you ride now what a difference man. shit so awesome. well done.

my bike has 62deg head angle, and it feels great, no issues at all. Chris Porter from Geometron used a bus analogy, but in the opposite direction. to describe old bikes with long stem and steep head angle. in the video Geometron Bikes: an interview with Chris Porter at 6:16 he talks about steering.

Nice Jason! I remember talking about this drop. Crashing dad 140 travel in the chunk? I like how light short travel bikes are and how nimble they feel, however I like how 160mm bikes are more forgiving and feel through the chunk.

Beauty of a rig. Don't mean to be this guy but...I strongly suggest you slightly raise your dropper post. Oneup among other brands strongly recommend you leave an inch or so of room between the Collar of the dropper and the seat post clamp. Cheers!

Thanks Jared 🤘🏽 Interesting… I dug into the one up v2 dropper post Item Info page, the length selector tool, and install instructions, FAQs, and I don’t see any mention of that… they do say that they’ve optimized their droppers to have the shortest insertion for length and shortest stack from collar to rails… That makes me wonder if I’m screwing something up by fully inserting…😬 I think I’ll reach out to OneUp for clarification 👍🏽 Thanks for the heads up

Thanks dude! 🤘🏽 I’m probably going to give it a good winter to try to tame all the sand down on it… RC said it was a beach without very many features and LOTS of climbing. Definitely an XC ride… so I’ve gotta work on my fitness 😂

Saw a Tim cameo there! I'm not sure how I feel about the green screen stuff. I think here and there it would be cool, but otherwise just cutting back to you sitting in the garage or wherever talking would be fine. Made me not sure what I should be looking at. You or the screen.

New Mtb trend alert 🚨 going from last year’s model to this year’s model of the same bike! I’m going from a Jeffsy to a Jeffsy! 🧠 🎉. Because it has 10mm more travel! 150mm trail bike that pedals up like an Xc and down like a dh couch 🛋. 🇳🇿🚲🎉🚂🎸🚨🚵‍♀️😎⛑🚲💀

Hello CD, Can you tell me if the bike comes with the wheelbase set in the short or long position? And if the wheelbase numbers RM gives is for the short or long wheelbase setting? Thanks so much.

They come out of the box from Rocky Mountain in the SHORT position - which is also the measurement that they list - and then the chip lengthens it by 10mm. happy to help! Cheers!

Any preference of the XTR VS 10-52 XO? I found a 2021 Carbon 90 'used' as in never on a trail for fantastic price, it looks showroom

Everyone’s going to have their preferences 🤷🏽 I do prefer shimano for brakes… and shimano xtr is GREAT for shifting, but XO is great too 🤘🏽 Cheers!

@@singletracktrucker I did not jump on a new one… but it was VERY similar to the BC edition that I had, and I purposely went down in travel… Had I known that they would be releasing a revamped Element 120/130mm, I probably would’ve picked that one. Heck, I might sell the instinct and go to that next year 😅 It’s funny though… every long travel enduro sled now “climbs like a goat”…. And every short travel XC/down country bike “descends like a demon!” 😂 Seems like it’s hard to go wrong regardless of which “category” you choose 🤷🏽

Lol CALL OF DUTY! 😂 My first real bike was a rocky… and their bikes just feel like “home” when I jump on them… it’s natural, and there’s no adjustment period to get used to. Sure, I love a lot of other bike brands… but I’m just the most stoked on Rocky 🤷🏽 and when you’re stoked on your bike and colors, you ride more… right? 😂

Lol… I suppose you’re right 🤷🏽 I used to consistently do 3’-6’ drops to flat with tons of chunk… I’ve settled down, and now keep it mostly to chunk and 3’-4’ drops…. I save the 6’+ drops for special occasions 😅
