Hey there.. I really like my S5II. I picked up the 24-105, and it's been great for just about everything. I recently got to shoot an airshow and moved to my Sony R8 with a 100-400, and I really want that type of ZOOM with my S5II. The photos from the R8 were exceptional, but I like the feature set of the S5II better. I want to move to working with some prime lenses as well as I think they will help me improve my composition. As a filmmaker, I am always following camera tech. But, over the past two years or so, most of the top brands have been releasing some seriously powerful cameras at very competitive prices. I've been using the Sony FX30 since it was released. It is a great camera. But, having had the A7iv before it, I am feeling the pull back to LUMIX with the S5ii. And as someone who started out with the GH5, I know I can expect excellent quality with the S5ii. But, also being a low budget/indie filmmaker, I tend to sell the camera I have before I buy another one. Right now, I can get the S5ii for less than what my FX30 cost. So, I am bantering around the idea of joining the LUMIX family again. Thanks for sharing your experience with the S5ii. It really is an impressive camera.

I find this encouraging, because I'm currently on a Lumix bridge camera (the FZ1000ii), basically as my starter "learning the basics of photography" camera, and my plan is to not upgrade before 2026, at which time I'll start doing research...but I'm lying if I say I haven't started low-key paying attention to what's out there! I'm not one to rigidly maintain brand loyalty, but my experience with my current camera is sufficiently good that I'll be almost certainly giving Lumix the first look when I do decide it's time to start looking around. Your good results thus far (along with some other people I've talked to) are encouraging!

Had an fz1000 for years. Loved it! This year I upgraded to Lumix G95 micro 4/3 system. Love it! The transition from fz1000 is fairly seamless. Highly recommend micro 4/3 as the lenses are much smaller than full frame
@KellySedinger2 ай бұрын
@@Jalexandersingh How have you found micro 4/3 in low light?
@bingbong48482 ай бұрын
@@KellySedinger just to chip in... I use Lumix FZ330 bridge cam and also Lumix M43 and also Fuji apsc. I occasionally have access to Nikon full frame. With each increase in sensor size you can see an improvement in low light capability when working at high ISO. M43 is fine for professional use but you may end up relying on editing software a bit more to clean up low light images. It's less work with full frame. Also depends on your definition of low light and the situation. If you're using flash or video lights it helps a lot. Bridge camera sensors are pretty small compared to the others, so whatever you 'upgrade' to will show an improvement on low light. Lenses also make quite the difference. Bad lenses will give poor results even on the larger sensors. Try some fast primes to take your photography to the next level. They are helpful in low light. Also, keep the bridge camera. For everyday use they are great and versatile. Sorry for the ramble.
@Jalexandersingh2 ай бұрын
@@KellySedinger significantly better than the 1inch sensor in the FZ1000. Not as good as I have seen APC and full frame users achieve. Did some night sky tests in my backyard. I was happy. Again not as good as larger sensors, but pretty darn good. Could easily be a skill issue.
