I had the same thing with Garmin. I have been wearing HR watches for over a decade. The trick with Garmin is to wear the watch on the inside on the arm not like a regular watch on the outside or top of the wrist. I can even wear it high up on my forarm on the inside and it’s accurate against a chest strap

Great video. I also don't understand why garmin fixed the hrm-pro to the strap, but if the strap wears out, you can replace it the same way you change the battery. But you will need a screw driver to do that. I think polar design is much more convenient for washing the straps and replace as they wear out

Couple points First 1-4 beats different is quite close. Second do you know that blood doesn't flow synchronised in both left & right. There is a difference and that is why you have to configure the watch to say which wrist you are wearing it on. Have you set that set?

So far the best Garmin HRM is the black HRM-run with a small white running man on it. It can offer all running data, although don't have memory. The integrated versions, I know it not really wear out very soon, but it's so preventing people to wash it properly. Even it won't wear out that soon (if you not wash it very often), it will be stink very very often. I will try to use HRM-dual as much as I can to avoid use of HRM-pro unless I need the running data or on board memory. Even as I use HRM-dual, I have three strips, so that i can put a strip in laundry machine everytime i used it. Three strips is to make sure I will have at least one dry, none smell strip ready for next day use. I have a friend who is a runner and he had his red out ring HRM-run using till today. It's not wear out and still functional, but it looks like coming out of a tomb and yes every time i saw him use it, i can smell it from far away.

Thanks for your detailed videos. My experience has been that the integral wrist optical HRMs are all pretty unreliable during runs or other vigorus activity, especially with the heavier, Fenix-style watches. I hate the chest straps, but with Garmin it is the only way to get activity respiration rate data. My preference is a separate optical HRM like Schosche, it seems as reliable as chest straps, but way easier to use. They stay parked in position, tight against your arm, so they work really well.

My Felix 7x heart rate and calories burned are way off very disappointing. My fenix 7 says I burn maybe 2800 calories a day. Yet I eat around 3000 calories a day when cutting weight. Had a Fitbit versa that seemed to be way more accurate. Problem was I was going through fitbits like every couple of years they just would crap out. I’m gonna invest into a chest monitor too.

I migrated from an AW series 7 to a Fenix 7, for sure the battery is literally 10x better, but the HR sensor is terrible. I did 2 bike rides comparing my HR on the Edge using a strap, and looking at my Fenix, it was way off, like 160 vs 125bpm. Now I only plan to use it with a chest strap...

i totally agree, garmin fenix 7 solar , 130bpm. samsung galaxy gear s3 171bpm and that felt more accurate. day before same spot the garmin was 108bpm.. garmin fenix 7 has very inaccurate HR reading and for a $1000+ aud watch . its very disappointing.

If you place it in a different hand or another location within the same arm you will have different results. You can check it using two devices of the same model and brand in the same hand

Is polar h10 compatible with Garmin fenix 7? In that sense where it records the activity using h10 chest strap and the same data be pushed to Garmin watch ?

Why not ? Polar H10 / H9 (cheaper and 1 Bluetooth channel) , Polar Verity Sense and Polar OH1 (1 Bluetooth channel) have full Ant+ supports

The percentage on garmin connect is not % difference in heart rate. Its % difference in TIME based on zones. It could be 1 beat a minute different, and step up a band doing so. Your assertion is flawed
