@@rickeymcclaryjr.2350 ironic you are bringing the similarities between the Wing Chun system and The Peekaboo style. I trained in Wing Chun but stopped two years ago due to the stance irritating an old ankle injury. You keep your hands up in front of your face you dodge without giving up positioning and you use the dodges to create power. So you effectively don't give up your standing point, you work your offense around your opponents and you use that defense to convert back into offense.

Great video. This style is great for self defense; probably why it has remained so popular over the years.

That’s a great break down of the basic philosophy . Tyson would also squat very low making it even harder to get any leverage, his stance was also a lot more square on and he would often move to southpaw inside.

Nice video man. Though i dont see it as 100% like you do. for attacking - the peekaboo is the hardest to shoot your punches with speed. As a stance it is the slowest way to shoot your punches. Tyson was very rare with his abilitys. Even if a guy is taller - there are ways to establish control to some extent with a jab or tagetting mainly the body (tyson thrived on preying the body). Other than that - if you fight a guy that cant keep you at bay (because he lacks the reach or even if he is taller with less ability or ring iq) - it is very effective to move and throw him out of balance, sometimes even without throwing at all. Jab is a crucial tool in boxing - i know for myself that when i go the peekaboo way - my jab is dragged and is not as effective and snappy as if i went shoulder roll or even just the lead hand down (like tommy hearns used to do). Anyway - i liked the video very much! Cheers

Strangely I find Zahabi's method of moving backwards then letting him walk into your strikes or counters to be more energy efficient. Not necessarily better overall, but better in certain contexts'. This method would be effective if you plan on finishing the fight fast (as you mentioned); but if it carries on for whatever reason it requires a lot of fast twitch recruitment and will drain anyone quite fast.

There is no one-size-fits all method for boxing. Each fighter has to find what works for them. Every fighter has different physical and mental attributes. For example it would have been very stupid for Mohamed Ali to use peekaboo style like Tyson, and stupid for Tyson to use the style that Ali did. Totally different fighters, both great, doing what works for them, which is totally different styles.

This not the philosophy you just did a few moves but not intelligently Mike tyson used his shift and dash to go around his opponents and his jab would always be 2 one to move guard next to hit chin and he would move diagonally. Plus you forgot to mention his staggered stance smh

There are weight classes for a reason. Size is not just one factor, but one of the most important after technique. There's a reason why fighters small for their weight divisions were so legendary: they were exceptions to the rule, they had to develop outrageously different sryles only to survive.

I will not agree with the fact that you can adopt a style of someone who was unique and created this style. You won't be ? like Mike Tyson, Ali, Bruce Lee, Fedor Emelianenko, anyone from MMA, box, wrestling, etc - it's not possible! You have to come up with your own, which is very difficult or never happen. You can pretend but you will not be unique in any way - you will be a poor copy.

Noone was taught the same. Even if the style looks the same there is more aspects. You can use one technique you can add another style or mix it. Even d'mato, do you think he was teaching the same? He had 70 years boxing experience and he use to analyse boxers not just train them. So over years he improved his style. What this trainer teaching is basics of basics.
