Why I use so many decks in 1 tarot session

My wonderful husband of 23 years asked me why I needed 12 decks in a reading and 40 more hanging on hooks on all the walls in the bedroom? well, silly, silly, man. Tarot readings are like digging for oil. With each spread, we go deeper into the topic. Many spreads = decks that can go deeper in different ways than the one before. Readings can start out with the calm Ryder Waite Smith deck, but then I choose the next deck like I'm choosing a scalpel to cut through to the clarity and understanding that my client needs. the truth is that one deck is enough, but I just plain like the decks on my station, and I can't wait to get MORE!
