By now, you probably already know what the Rabbit R1 is - and you probably also know that you shouldn’t buy it.
I was at the launch party at the TWA Hotel on April 23rd; I bought the R1 like everyone else there; and like almost every other reviewer, I too spent the next couple weeks in a cloud of frustration and confusion. How could a company ship something so obviously unfinished - especially just weeks after a very similar product was very publicly roasted, in part, for making the same mistake?
In lieu of simply repeating what everyone else has already said about why the R1 is destined to become the next dust bunny in our gadget hidey holes … I thought it might be worth taking a look at the reasons why so many of us are so un-hoppy about it.

yep same here, 3 cats 1 diabetic. on the plus side, the insulin can restart the pancreas in a cat and the cat can become un-diabetic. its already happened to mine once. but he went diabetic again a year later. hopefully other people have more luck.

The number of people hoovered up by the "AI" marketing talk is depressing. An uncle of mine who worked in software development told me about the distinction when I talked to him about the military's efforts to make self-driving viable for self-driving combat vehicles... he wanted me to understand the difference between a fancy algorithm and something self-aware, and the vast gulf between pretend and the real mccoy has never been clearer with recent large-language models. They don't "understand" anything whatsoever.

Thanks for adopting! We adopted 2, and 8 dogs (lost one to a snake and the other to a horse - heartbreaking), and we foster as well. The first 2 fosters were meant to be cat friendly - not! My cats retreated to the roof and it was 2 months before the big cat cornered each one seperately and beat them up. The third foster doggy has just come in, and he's scared if the cats look at hum but will chase them if they run. Luckily they have sanctuaries all over rhe garden and house that dogs can't get to. Congrats for learning to give injections! Especially to a cat! We have to wrap our 2 in towels just to administer their spot on tick and flea medication. Hope he recovers fully🙏🙏

Glad your kitty will be okay. I have a small Tuxedo cat and she had health problems 2 years ago where we thought we'd lose her. She's all better now and happy. Also rescued a dog in 2020. Glad to hear your kittys are getting better. About 2 months ago I adopted a pair of tuxedo kittens from a NYC rescue foster agency. As luck would have it. within a week. Both came down with Calisivirus. One requiring emergency hospitalization. They're both better now. But I totally know what you're dealing with. It can be tough and very costly. The LAM concept is cool, but it's only cool (even if it worked) in the current state of API integrations. If they are just going to interact with commonly used services like Uber and Spotify using LAM, that LAM is just going to be outshined once the companies develop API more tailored to how we use Siri or Bard (or whatever Google will call their "AI"). LAM is really only useful for very niche things, which would be next to impossible to train.

Glad to see you again, hope your cat gets better. I really feel the same way you feel about phones. They are not fun anymore. I recently went from an iPhone to a pixel 7. I believe now that phones are missing something but I am not sure what it is. I miss small devices but those are hard with my eyes. Not sure what is next. I thought it was the flipping idea of the old phones or the ability of living your life with less screen time. Something is off and missing. As a conclusion we lost our connection with ourselves and we connected with things that we can't control. It totally sucks.

Love the storytelling in this vid, it’s crazy how much the tech industry has taken a page from gaming: making vastly underbaked products and selling them at top dollar, promising to finish them later. In gaming, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. In tech, I see it being far less successful because of the barrier to entry not to mention the massive spotlight on these companies at large.
