Not airliner related but yesterday I took the paramotor up for a lazy sojourn around the Lake District in the late afternoon sun. Landed on top of Crag Hill, walked up to the summit of Grisedale Pike to take in the scenery, then flew back down to the camp site at Braithwaite. I’ve done the walking bits in real life a few times but not for a few years and my word it brought the memories flooding back. All in VR, what a sim, incredible!

I’m having fun, and getting pissed at the same time. For example, the Cessna I bought for my company, decided to had a brake failure on landing, ran off runway, crash with some trees, lost a lot of reputation, and ended up with a $140k repair bill. That’s a lot of missions to repair the plane. My bad I guess, since technician did indicated landing gear needed some maintenance.

@@beijingpete I don't think it was a gen z tantrum. I think it's upsetting seeing everything go so online. The idea that I should download every aircraft every time I want to use it is a bit crummy and you see a lot of issues from that.

Fair play to inibuilds for politely feeding back and you revisiting it, it's refreshing given the state of discourse on this (and lots of other things) at the moment. I still haven't dived into 24, my fingers were badly burned by the opening week and the bugs I experienced.

Great insight again. The PB function in the sim is dramatic. Also jetways connect well at first, but when I go to Outside camera, it tends to be all over the place, Most of the time right through the cockpit. I've got the GSX update installed and that seems to be working better for now Also for PB

You seem to have everything working well in MSFS 2024, it's a joy to behold and looks great, unlike all the negative comments I've seen in the last twoo weeks. But things seem to be looking up and I'll probably be installing my copy of the software within the next week or so, although MSFS 2020 hasn't lost its appeal.

Hi Finn, Indeed, I saw some vids where they land straight off the approach. I could be wrong, but I think that’s only applicable to the RNP (AR) Z approach though? As I mentioned during the video, I wanted to fly that approach, but it isn’t coded in the sim. The visual manoeuvre was entertaining and picturesque, at any rate. I hope that clarifies things a little. Do let me know if I’m wrong. All the best!

Please, can you tell what is the state of Flight Models for GA aircraft? On MSFS 20, the only aircrraft I am able to decently enjoy is the A2A Comanche. I wonder if MSFS24 has improved on this topic. I will not buy it until I am convinced that 24 is not as arcadish as 2020. Thank you
@matteolosardo2 сағат бұрын
I fly GA in real life and I'm pretty happy with the flight model honestly, I'd say its more matter of finding the right control curve in the settings
@damcopter2 сағат бұрын
@matteolosardo thanks for you feedback. I am also a professional pilot and I am very dissapointed by MSFS20 compared to DCS for example. I agree with you on the curves to be tweaked but my complaints are about the "binary" behaviour of msfs20 FM. I really hope 24 has more depth on that matter. Unfortunately I will not talk about the helicopters (I am a Chinook pilot IRL)....because MSFS is nowhere near being able to simulate helos FM. And the CH47 is not modeled properly in terms of flight controls....
@brandonchappell15352 сағат бұрын
Its definitely improved, some defaults still arent amazing, mostly a more fluid floaty model though, an generally feels more alive, which is better than the rubberband fm in 2020. The cessna gets smashed around by pretty light winds (may be bug), and g58 and baron dont feel much different and now have bugs. I have no desire to go back, even with the bugs and crashes, some areas are huge visual upgrades.
@damcopter2 сағат бұрын
@@brandonchappell1535 thanks for you feedback. I like the fact that you are mentioning the "floatiness" of the FM. This is definitely what is missing in MSF2020. I am glad that you seem to feel some floatiness in 24.

@@damcopter I've had reports coming from helicopter pilots that the flight model got improvement as well, so you might want to try that! I've never flown one irl, so I'm not qualified to have an opinion, the only thing I know is that in the sim I cannot keep them straight XD

You weren't wrong about FS 2024 in your first video. You were spot on. The truth is MSFS2024 is an utter bug-ridden disgrace. From the disastrous launch, when they should have known about server loads, to the hundreds and hundreds of bugs in the program. Airports missing terminals, entire airports missing, airborne jetways, aircraft with wings missing, avatars hanging upside down out of flying aircraft, blurry terrain, CTDs etc etc. It's pathetic and what's infuriating is Jorg's utter denial of that reality. They rushed it out and they knew it wasn't ready. It's going to take a full year before it's even close to fixed. If you're wondering who the beta testers are, it's the people who bought this joke of a program. I got a refund as I won't reward their incompetence.

add to that flaps resetting themselves mid flight, zero fuel guages for no reason, audio loss, character getting trapped under the aircraft, contradictory notifications and I've barely played it on Game pass.
