Damn, awesome review. Summed it up perfectly. I really enjoyed this movie. I think despite the gorey killings, it had a phycological twist. Something about the slow, methodical, almost machine like steps, followed by human/ animal like killing, really had me on the edge of my seat. Unlike most of the others in my theatre, I think the slow progression actually helped set the physiological stage. Anyways, as said before, great review.

Just finished watching about two hours ago and really enjoyed it. This movie isn't for everyone though and not simply because of the gore. The constant walking I found both boring and funny at the same time. It's obviously not exciting to watch someone just walking but it was funny to me because in reality, for slasher flicks that's basically most of what these guys do so made it funny. I liked it, different kind of horror movie that I was glad to have watched.

Felt the same. I was surprised three young guys walked out midway when I saw it? Not sure if they got bored or what? The acting and dialogue kind of killed it for me. Otherwise the kills and pov were great! 🤷🏼♂️

I was a huge fan of this movie. For something "new" in the horror....it was fantastic. A lot of times new doesn't work. All the reviews I have seen no-one is talking about how iconic I think Johny could become. He was awesome. I loved his look, his weapons, his swagger. All of it. Give him a sequel, give him a bigger budget. Give us more amazing kills

Austin I wonder if you’ll agree with this but In a Violent Nature feels like a movie that was made by movie lovers and passionate people that want to look towards originality and creativity but unfortunately that took over a little too much and the movie doesn’t offer much more than that

i like the last 15 mins where the shift is now to Kris. Kris is becoming a killer. With the trauma she saw and the whole night and day of running. Her mind has changed completely and shes becoming a "high tension" lady. Remember the movie is about the killer's perspective. So forget Johnny in the last 15mins. The new killer is Kris at this point and if there will be a sequel then it's her doing the walking around the woods. Remember she was holding a lighter. She will take that gasoline and burn that lady and she will take that axe as well. Part 2 lets follow Kris

Or the lady is Johnnys mom or a relative down the line in his lineage and she is the next killer or she will give Kris to Johnny

Anyone seen "Bloodline Killer" I hear it's like someone made their own "Halloween" with "In a Violent Nature" being like "Friday the 13th" could this be the rebirth of the knock-off Horror Movie. There were so many in the 80's & 90's, Blockbuster was full of rip offs of or favorite slashers some great others not so much. I'd like to see some sort of "dream killer" take from someone else, any who can't wait to see this when it drops on Shudder.

When this movie is good, it's really fuckin gnarly and will have you locked in lovin it... But when it's not so good, it's a tough watch. The problem isn't necessarily the fact that there's long, boring, artsy stretches of time where nothing is happening (and i mean nothing) it's how much of the films runtime is spent being that way. It's 90 minutes long and there's a stretch in the middle that's roughly 30 minutes long where the film is absolute mayhem but in the best way if you love horror. But the rest of it is a tedious watch for the most part. I'd give the film a 6.2/10... It'd probably be a 7.5 to 8 if it were just 60 minutes long
@rainesbobo4 ай бұрын
I appreciate what they were trying to do in this movie but, as I said out loud while watching the movie last night,” there is a reason we don’t see what Jason and Michael do in between their kills” …..because it boring!! They are mindless killers which means they would do mindless things in their downtime and frankly I’m not interested in watching it. I fast forwarded thru most of the walking scenes. At times, I almost thought this was a parody of Friday the 13th movies because of all the walking as a lot of us always comment on how Jason just slowly walks everywhere he goes. TBH it’s pretty tedious to watch Johnny do it. No thanks. I’m fine leaving that part to the imagination from now on. That being said, the kills are amazing. If someone could just take this movie and recut it without all walking scenes in that it would be tighter and better unfortunately. I realized some of the scenes built tension while you were watching what he was doing but the majority of them was a boring walk about the woods. Watch it for the kills and fast forward thru the rest.

Planning on seeing this. How does the gore compare with the Terrifier series? Green Inferno? Does it look real or do you see the practical effects at work?
@AustinBurke5 ай бұрын
So a lot fewer and further in-between than something like a Terrifier… that said, they are impactful when we get them. Maybe a scene where the effects are a bit on the fake side, but most of them work… The “brutal hook in head” sequence was special.
