I realised 3 games on iOS and android and I know how tough it is to make a game, it’s not like Maggi that you can make it in 2 min. Your points are absolutely correct. The problem with this is that companies thinks that mobile will be the future of gaming which is true and not. When you see the revenue earn by games then mobile shows the highest and will increase but the demand for PC and consoles game will not decrease. Mobile games can be made in short time span while PC and console game take years, that is also the reason why they make mobile games more. Even the indie games like limbo, my friend Pedro, cuphead, journey, and many more take years to make that’s why they are this much polished and you don’t feel like you wasted your money. India has so much talent and potential that we can also make AAA type of games, many game developers want to make games for PC and console(myself included) but it take time and patience, but the most important thing is that they don’t have that much money to promote and sustain there lives during the production of the game. The most important thing is that no one takes gaming seriously. They don’t see that this field also has potential. Until someone make a successful game this will not change. When we start to take gaming seriously, then we can also create a game at huge scale which will compete with other AAA titles.

I am game developer (and I am just about to graduate I mean I am in my last year) and I am agree with your points. Let me share my little experience. one day i got a chance to create board game like ludo from client. so i asked him what do you want which is something different from ludo. he said nothing. i need everything same as ludo. most irritating part was that they want adds in every 5 min. so in conclusion they just want more money with low investment.

cost is a factor for every business. Streaming services like Stedia are hopeful if they can provide 1k-2k annual plans for using this service and some good AAA titles then it will gain popularity. Same like cellular calling. Now everyone has a mobile with good hardware/specs. I hope Google Realize this for India.

You missed the main issue here... India have really really good programmers but they just like to work for the gaming company they played growing up. tell me if you have choice what would you like to be a part of ? A chota bheem game or Gta .. i am programmer myself and tbh I won't even touch Indian gammin companies until i am really really in need for a job . Making these type of games are really simple even a team of just 2 persons can do this under a month. For like 0 cost . Just fire up unity download some free asset slap a movement control and a procedural level generating script that's all you need other then a sound script score calculations are fairly easy to code...these games work because Indian parents let there children play these type of game to make them shut up.. and as Childrens are fairly stupid they just watch ads for IGC so you see when a company with no investment is making 100k a month why should i spend a dime on making a AAA title?? Other problems is sheer stupidity! What are the topics to make game on hnn? Lets say we make a game on post apocalyptic India and we depicted some Indian temples turned ruins. And i can give this you in writing someone somewhere will get offended and start a protest against the game. Even names of the characters can cause trouble like why the villain was named Rajput ... ? Like you get it? Another example we made a game like gta and depicted Up or West Bengal in it .. i am sure there will be outrage on associating there states with a game where u can KILL ANYONE like seriously a game can cost around 100 cr to 500 cr why would someone invest so heavily on such a risky market....when u can earn with a bad mobile game ... Anime is also struggling in India cause of piracy and lack of support but its changing now i hope its same for the gaming industry. One day maybe. I'll be able to work on a AAA Indian title..

There is a lot of encouragement for the learning apps in India. People are buying two or three learning apps for their children. poeple cant encourage some body investing 200crores on a game. but they can invest 500 crores in a shitty movie that does not even has a good vfx [bahubali]. Every children have to learn everythings more than what foreigners and get a shitty job that he dont even likes. calculating without calculator hmm a walk to the park and we are bragging about how good and intelligent we indians are in maths and problem solving statistically it is correct. but we are not using it to invent stuff or even make stuff. sometimes i feel so proud to be an indian and sometimes i dont.
