I think models which require a mental frame-of-reference shift, like “Growth Mindset” and “Non-Violent Communication”, are products of Ni. Growth Mindset seems pretty influential and trendy right now, but seems to differ in that it doesn’t require a lot of “the latest and greatest trendy” -“immediate impact”-self promotion that seems connected to influencers. Ni models can likely live on without the constant immediate promotion, but still needs to be put out there for people to find. Both of those models seem to share a human challenge that has existed for a long time, which involves lowering defensiveness, often because of ego/image concerns, and shifting the spotlight of awareness and focus onto something else in order to create a new potential outcome. (the process of learning itself over some image of self to keep protecting. Or focusing on the emotions involved and the needs connected to those emotions, and how to fulfill/accept needs requests, over moralizing/domination/submission/making people feel bad about themselves and/or their self-image).

I agree with you. As an INFJ, I see the “spirit of the age” more broadly. But that is nuanced in a different way, because I’m tracing presuppositions back through time and seeing the current conversation in that context. Social media has no patience for nuance and layers. It’s not that I’m out of touch. It’s that I’m googled out.

It's why avatars are comfortable. It's a character, not a person.

How do you explain the fact that a substantial number of political cartoonists are INFJs, who must constantly stay in tune with the 'zeitgeist'?

Do you have examples of such INFJ cartoonists?

@@RensRoom Steve Bell. Visuals, emotions, sharpness, role switching, empathy, cartoons and art is our domain, and when it suits us, we happily unpack the Se tool. Lot's of mistyped famous artists that are in fact so obviously INFJ to explore if one truly understands art.
