There is no hard and fast rule for short time volunteering which is of 1 month. In this, you can anytime exit if you wish. They wont ask you. But 30 days is a limit, if you want to extend the stay you have to apply again. Thn there is long term volunteering which has certain rules regulations. It can stretch from 3 months to one year to lifetime also. This type of volunteering is only given to people who are willing. You can check the details in isha foundation websites.

Good insights. Only when one completes IE and more importantly consistently practicses Shambhavi, does one realizes the impact it has. Hence it is very important to complete IE. Before doing IE found that compulsion strange, since I considered myself very "knowledgable", as I had read a lot about Yog/Spiritualism/Adhyatma. But no amount of reading can supplant the experience of practise.

Sir, i have completed IE, but I am in another kriya path (Lahiri Mahasaya's), so i don't practice Shambhavi and didn't complete my mandala as well because a Bhramacharini ma asked me not to mix kriyas from 2 different paths. But i still feel deeply connected to Sadhguru and Isha and see him as a potent guidance in the advanced kriya path that i'm following, and have felt that he is my non-negotiable Guide. Can i do volunteering? Do they ask/mandate if i'm doing Shambhavi regularly?

Yes they do ask. In fact the schedule will be as per the sadhna that we do here.

Not entirely true. you can volunteer even if you are not initiated or done inner engineering. But yes, you cannot be in Isha as a volunteer. My mother stayed in the ashram for 15 days at Isha stay...they themselves ask if you want to do volunteering. My mother did biksha, akshya and gardening seva even though she has not done inner engineering
